Sadness is Power

Image

Sadness is power. It is expressed through pain and promise.

I desire despondency, its weight digs deep into my soul—

fissured, yet unbroken.

I seek solace in love.

The presence of sadness undone.

Love is Simple

Image

Love is simple. It’s a supple branch, awaiting a flexible grasp. I reach with my fingers extended, lost in a milieu of negative expressions. Love is surrender and simplicity, expressed through serendipity. Intent upon my own destruction, I await love’s reconstruction.

Addiction Surfaces

Image

Addiction surfaces from sound. It is a memory, constricted and constructed—innocence. I am a puppet, purpose crushed under desires’ weight. Feelings bridge buoyant betrayal, conditioning of composure and complicity—addiction, presence in perpetuity.

Hopes Melancholy

Image

Hope is the master of melancholic metaphors. Its sinister side, sullen and sadistic. I wear its despair and weather its disquiet, a trial of tribute and tribulation—hope. It grows pain, and plunders disdain, a remnant of all who came.

Masochistic Merriment

Image

Pain peels perpetually the possibility of patient persistence. It is the marrow of serenity and sorrow, and an invitation to masochistic merriment. I choose pain, and the loss of love. It is breathless, a buoyant harbor of hope—a quiet storm, and a safety I’ve never  known.

The Currency of Life

Image

Love lives in the simple moments. In the triumphs we celebrate, and the trauma we commemorate. Peace arises from the pieces—the aftermath. Love follows the follower and fallows the followed. No one escapes. It is the ultimate price, the currency of life.

Tailored to Fit

Image

Light leans into love. It’s felt in full when open to fright and freedom. Experience—the catalyst of the unknown and unknowable—words that mean little. I find sovereignty in simplifying. In owning ignorance and the insight it offers. Awareness, both confounding and comforting. I wear it like a blanket—tailored to fit—an uncommon and unparalleled gift.

Expression Nourishes

Image

Prudent purpose plagues me. It’s all

consuming, and expects too much.

The words fill a void without.

meaning, it’s consumption to

consume.  I find solace in the

comfortlessness. Its expression

nourishes, and its silence confounds.

It leaves me little rest. I am

compressed within, and tested and

tried in a world built on sin.

Crafty Presence

Image

Dread feels like pressure. It fills all available spaces with its crafty presence. I hold onto promise, and its weightlessness, knowing anxiety is waiting—I can feel it just under my skin, like tiny rivulets. As peace beckons me, a faint breeze of calming awareness hints—it’s all transitory. You, me, all the things we feel and see, are all a part of the same self-created story.

Wear and Weather

Image

Preoccupation and persistence found

perfection.

We met under the stars, and

talked until dawn.

You were a shadow of the clouds,

mysterious and luminous.

I hid against the sand dunes

sparkling with wear and weather.

Drift wood stood between us

daring the other to signal acceptance.

I’ve seen you before

when it was impossible to say more.

A faint hello was all I could manage.

I found life difficult, and struggled to

maintain balance.

Even now, I fight with reality, did we

speak or did I imagine.

A life along the sand, and in the

dunes, can bring about such damage.
