It has been a whole year since our world was thrown for a loop. It was during Thanksgiving weekend, last year, when my water broke at almost 23 weeks pregnancy. That was the beginning of 8 weeks of hospitalized bedrest. Which was followed by 12 weeks with my baby in the NICU. It's become one of those weird time warp things. It feels like it was yesterday, but forever ago at the same time. It was definitely the hardest thing that Morgan and I have had to face. It was not easy. It was not fun. But it taught us more about love, sacrifice, and gratitude. We feel so blessed that in the face of all that could have gone terribly wrong, we have a happy, healthy, beautiful baby girl. We got a 'happily ever after' out of our trial.

Swimming Lessons
Little Miss took a session of swimming lessons this summer. This was her 4th summer of swimming lessons. The last 3 summers, Little Miss and I took a Parent/Tot class. This was the first year she was old enough to take a class by herself. My little miss is growing up. She was awesome! Her only complaint was that they spent the whole time playing games and singing songs. She wanted to learn how to swim! Her teacher said that she was the one with the most improvement. She still was nervous to put her head all the way under the water, but she did master blowing bubbles in the water. I'm so proud of her!
Life with Curly Q
Little Miss L-O-V-E-S reading books to Curly Q. Curly Q loves when Little Miss reads her books. And I love it because the two of them can entertain themselves.
This last week has been a little rough on Curly Q. She had one of her teeth break through and she is working on another one. Poor girl. She's had a rough time falling asleep for her naps. One day, she would only sleep in Morgan's arms. So, Morgan took a little nap with her.
Curly Q is honestly the happiest baby. Even through her teething pains, she is usually full of smiles and giggles. We are so blessed to have her in our family.

Seven Months
Her 6 month check up was a few weeks ago. She is now in the 50% for her head size! Yay, 50% is fantastic for being a preemie! She's also in the 25% for height and 10% for weight. But she's doing well and the doctor isn't concerned at all about her progress or anything! She is still on oxygen. We have her tested monthly to see if she can come off, but she's failed all 4 tests. So, now I'm just hoping she can come off oxygen by her first birthday! If it's sooner than that, great! Honestly, the oxygen is no big deal. We're used to it. We're just so grateful to have Curly Q as healthy as she is! She definitely adds to our family!

Laughing
Curly Q is kind of stingy with her laughing. She will smile great big HUGE smiles for almost anyone, but she won't laugh for anyone. Morgan and I have both gotten cute giggles out of her, but only Little Miss can get her really laughing. I don't know why, but Curly Q just thinks Little Miss is hilarious! So, today, Curly Q was laughing at a beach ball being tossed in the air by Little Miss. Oh, she's so stinking adorable!

SiStErS
I cannot get over how fun it is to have 2 girls! Two is so much more fun than one! I love watching them play together and interact! Little Miss is such a fantastic big sister. She's so helpful and loves to play with Curly Q. And Curly Q lights up whenever Little Miss comes around. They entertain each other ... its lovely.
p.s. I think it is so funny that these two girls have very different colors of skin!

Dress Up
Morgan saw this picture and asked why I would dress our Little Miss like that. Ha! I would NEVER dress her up in that! This is the work of a 3 year old! Even though I would never dress Little Miss up like this, I would take pictures and post them for all our friends and family to see!
