Note to Parents

Hello Parents,

I have had so much fun learning about farm animals with your preschooler. These posts will give you a chance to experience a little of the farm, too, as you view your child in action.

Thank you for being part of preschool at Jenny's Learning Center. I so appreciate the opportunity to work with your child and associate with you.

Sincerely,

Jenny

Milking the Cow M/W Class

Our "milking the cow" took place in the kitchen instead of a barn and with a latex glove instead of a cow. Maybe not authentic, but very fun just the same!ImageJohn, Sam, & Grant

Shake it to Make it!

Making butter the old fashioned way is simple, but a lot of hard work. With some help from fast-paced music students did a lot of shaking to turn cream into butter. Yum!ImageCameron & Erin

Pancakes, Pancakes!

Pancakes, Pancakes! by Eric Carle is a delightful story that provided several fun activities for the students. A farm boy named Jack desperately wants a pancake for breakfast. However, he must go through the tedious process of "naturally" obtaining each ingredient for the pancakes. Below you will see the students getting flour by threshing the wheat and then grinding it into flour. ImageErin

Pencils and erasers acted as flails for threshing. Everyone was surprised, including the teacher, to see how easily little wheat kernels popped out as the children "beat the wheat!"
