Weekend Wisdom: Keats’ Crocuses

The crocuses finally bloomed. Smiley Simone is also happy she did not miss their blooming.

Crocuses are a thing of beauty. Thank you, God, for creating them.

The words on the stamp are from John Keats’ famous poem from Endymion. I have included the full sentence below the stamp. Additionally, if you click on Keats’ name, it will direct you to the Poetry Foundation, which features an excerpt of the poem.

A Poetic Romance

(excerpt)

BOOK I

A thing of beauty is a joy for ever:

Its loveliness increases; it will never

Pass into nothingness; but still will keep

A bower quiet for us, and a sleep

Full of sweet dreams, and health, and quiet breathing.

Irish Blessing & Spring Weather Awareness

Here is an Irish blessing in honor of Joe’s ancestors, who came from Ireland.

May you always walk in sunshine,

May you never want for more,

May Irish angels rest their wings

right beside your door.

Irish Blessing

This blessing is on a journal I found while cleaning out my bookshelves over the weekend.

Oh, and if you are a wanna-be leprechaun living in Ohio, who plans on wholeheartedly partaking in today’s festivities, there will be a statewide tornado drill at 9:50 a.m. tomorrow morning. 😀

Sirens blaring ought to go over well tomorrow after eating, drinking, and being merry today.

In all seriousness, this week is Spring Severe Weather Awareness Week. With gusts over 50 mph last Friday, Sunday, and yesterday, we are well aware of what severe weather can do, and yes, I have a plan in place. It’s called running faster than a speeding bullet to the basement.

Weekend Wisdom: Psalm 28

May your heart be filled with joy because you trust and see God working in your life. Because of this, may you burst out in song.
