Fashion Blog

I am avoiding the pile of laundry and bathroom that needs cleaning and went online to check out my cousin-in-law's fashion blog. You know that I'm all for what's easy and quick. I'm not going to suffer all day in a pair of too high heals just to look cute. I love Donna's blog. She creates some great closets and gives me some good ideas about how to mix the things I have and gives me the bug to go shopping. Check it out if you get a chance -- http://donnavaught.com/.

When it gets quiet

You know you're in trouble when your toddler is suddenly quiet and out of sight. Blake loves to put Vaseline on his lips. He walked out of my room with a LARGE amount all over his mouth and hands. He was very proud of himself.

Splashpad bust

Last Tuesday's play date was supposed to be at the splash pad in Woodforest. We got out there and it was broken. We let the kids run around for a while then decided to try the one in May Valley. Everyone loaded up the kids and followed each other out. About halfway there, it started pouring! We all followed Kate into the parking lot at Kroger in Magnolia. I'm sure we looked funny when we all filed into the parking lot. We decided to head back to Kate's house to play.

Back in Montgomery, the weather was great. Yes, it was definitely hot and humid, but a little overcast and no rain. We pulled out the toys and since the kids were already in their swim suits for the splash pad, we got the pools out. The kids had a blast! After a while we went inside for a little down time, a movie and some pictures :)

Sweet Jane! She was the only girl today. We have all decided she will just have to get used to having all the boys around. She'll either love it or hate it when she gets older and she has "brothers" around to protect her.

When it was time to leave all of the boys saw all of the mama's hugging good-bye and decided to "hug it out" :) It was SO stinkin' cute. They all hugged each other and said good-bye

Zoo Trip

Uncle Chad got us a membership to the Houston Zoo for Blake's birthday and we went for our first visit this past week. We met up with our friends: Leslie & Owen, Ashley, Caleb & Luke and Brittany & Reese. We had a great time. It was very hot, but the boys really enjoyed the animals. Caleb & Owen were able to show Blake the ropes since they've been more often than we have.

Play Date

Before school was out, my friend, Trudi, organized a play date schedule for us. Thank goodness! It's been so nice to get to see our friends this summer. The kids love to play together and the mamas love to have some adult interaction :) We get together once a week and play. Below are just some of the McCullough boys and isn't even all of the kids that were at the play date. The little babies were chillin' in the shade while the big kids had a popsicle :)

Father's Day - part 2

On Father's Day we spent the first half of the day at home and then went to Kingwood and had dinner with my parents. Their neighbor lets us use her pool and she was out of town, so we took advantage and took Blake swimming. He wasn't too sure at first. He kept calling it the pond and just wanted to cast his fishing pole.

Image
After he fell in the water (he had his life jacket on!), he warmed up to the water and wanted to jump!

Fishing! I think this was right before he fell in.

I love the look on his face in this picture! I think we will be seeing this one again in the teen years.

Swimming is fun!

Happy Father's Day, Daddy!

Father's Day - part 1

We had a early Father's Day dinner with Lance's dad and celebrated Father's Day & Lance's birthday. After dinner, we all walked down the block to the park. I got this sweet picture of Lance, Blake & PaPa (Randy) walking together. Blake was counting to three and then Lance & PaPa were swinging him. This went on for a while :) I love how Blake is looking up at Randy in this picture. So sweet!

Visit to Burkburnett

At the beginning of June, Blake and I headed to Burkburnett with my parents to visit my grandparents. We had a great time even though it was a quick trip.

On the way, we were sure to shoot some pictures to send to daddy so he could see what we were doing.

Blake likes to wear NeNe's glasses.

He loves looking at pictures and videos of himself on our phones.

When we got there, Granny & Grandad took us to the backyard to show us what they had set up for Blake. Of course, he wanted to get right in. Unfortunately for Blake, it was unseasonably cool, so this was the only dip in the pool for this visit.

The next day we went down to the local park. They have a great little pond and Blake had so much fun casting his fishing pole.

I love this picture of them. Look at those sweet smiles :)

Three of my favorites. Lance had a lot of live up to  because of these two men. I can't imagine that it gets any better than my dad and grandad.

Lynsey & Blake having some coffee :)

My cousin, Lynsey, came in to surprise Granny & Grandad while we were there. It was so good to get to spend some time with her. We even got to sneak away one night and go walk the track at the high school - one of our favorite things to do in Burk, because there really isn't much else to do :)

Helicopters

Blake has taken to one of his daddy's favorite things: helicopters. They love to fly together :)

Moody Gardens

We spent Memorial Day at Moody Gardens in Galveston. Chad got tickets at work with meal passes and a gift card to use at the gift shop and wasn't going to be able to use them, so he offered them to us. We headed down in the morning, hoping that Blake would take a nap on the way. The drive down took us a LONG time. I think everyone in Houston was heading to Galveston for the day :/. Blake did really well for the first half, but the second half of the drive was not as fun. He got a little car sick and got sick :( Poor babe. He finally did fall asleep and got a little rest before we got there. Once we got there, all was well.

I hadn't been to Moody Gardens in a few years, and it was really fun. Blake loved the aquarium. He loved the fish. They also had a Bodies Exhibit open while we were there and he enjoyed looking at all of the exhibits (probably because he didn't know they were real bodies).

Before we left, we visited the gift shop. Blake picked out a baseball (of course!), a sting ray and a book :) I think about 10 minutes after taking this picture he was asleep!
