KABOOM!

When every kid has amazing places to play, communities thrive and create generations of healthy and happy kids.

Our Mission

End Playspace Inequity.
For Good.

Far too many children — especially children of color — do not get the chance to play on a playground, something that should be part of every child’s life. This is playspace inequity. KABOOM! unites with communities and diverse partners to build playspaces in places where we know from data that access has been historically denied. Together, we work to ensure every playspace reflects the unique needs, desires, cultures, and strengths of the community. Our work will continue until every child has high-quality places to play, grow, and thrive.

Ways To Get Involved

Building playspaces. Building community. Building for the future.

KABOOM! was founded thirty years ago with a vision that every kid in every community – no matter their background or where they live – would have the same opportunity to fully enjoy a childhood filled with places to play. We’re proud of the progress made to march closer to achieving our mission, yet there’s still so much to do to meet the evolving needs of our kids. Join us today by supporting the Unlocking Possibilities Fund to ensure more kids have access to joyful playspaces.
