We had a wonderful time in West Virginia for Christmas. It was great to see everyone, and Avery got to meet my family.
Including her chunky adorable little cousin.
She got to see Mom again,
and Dad again!
We did the classic nativity with all the grandkids. It was pretty crazy, as you can imagine.
We came home to a foot of snow.
I took Avery out in her oompa loompa suit so she could experience the snow. She had no clue what was going on and just sat there looking cute.
One morning I decided I would try to sit Avery up on her own. And she stayed up! I snapped a few pictures before she fell over.
We went swimming together for the first time at the indoor pool. She was terrified at first of the loud echoey pool. But once I got her in the water she LOVED it.
We have gone to the farm a few times with her. Kade has worked on our hill so we can start building a house. We like to come and check up on him.
In order to live on the hill we have to drive on a gravel road for 5 miles. This was pushing me to sell our car, because it wouldn't work too well driving to the farm. I sold it and we bought another car the day before we were leaving for San Francisco.
We went to San Francisco to see Mom and Dad. We had so much fun walking around with Mom and seeing all the sights.
Then we hung out with both of them when Dad was finished with work stuff. Mom was an amazing tour guide. We walked up Lombard Street.
We went to Pier 39 and ate amazing seafood and saw the seals.
We walked to Coit Tower and China Town.
We also got to ride the Cable Cars a few times and see the Cable Car Museum.
After my parents left on Saturday, we went to Lands End, over the Golden Gate and to Muir Woods.
Avery did a lot better than I thought she would. She is usually not one of those babies that can fall asleep anywhere. I was really worried about her naps in San Francisco. She fell asleep twice in the backpack carrier on Kade while we were walking around. Not too bad. It got pretty cold in the evening, so Kade zipped her up in his jacket.
Avery is 11 months old now. She has gotten 4 teeth (two top and two bottom). Had her first cold -- Though now I'm wondering if it was the flu because she has had another cold since and it was WAY more mellow.
She figured out how to army crawl. Then after a month of that decided it was much easier to crawl on her hands and knees. And now she gets into everything. Not long after crawling she learned how to stand up and walk along all the furniture. At first it was a little scary because she would fall a lot. Now she has gotten a lot better.
As far as how much she weighs and stuff, I have no clue. How exactly do you weigh a baby at home? I could measure how long she is, but I'm too lazy. She is a lot longer and heavier than my last post with stats. I do know she has been following the sizes on her clothes pretty good. Like, right now she fits in some 9 months clothes still, but also fits in 12 months.
After recovering from Christmas, Avery decided she would sleep longer than a half hour for her naps during the day. It was wonderful, until she started waking up at night again. For a month, it was either sleeping through the night and 3 half hour naps, or waking in the night and 2 two hour naps and a half hour nap during the day. I couldn't get both. It took a while, but she finally started sleeping through the night and taking 2 good naps. It was marvelous.
Avery still loves the dog!
I'm still amazed at fast Avery is growing and how fast time is going by. She will be a year old in a month.. crazy! I didn't think it was possible, but she gets cuter everyday. We love her so much.
As for us, Kade has started his first crop of hay, so he has gotten super busy and is on a weird schedule on the farm. I'm still working from home for the Farm and teaching piano lessons. Its been working pretty good.
