1 Month Old

Image
Our precious little Lyvi is one month old today. Honestly, I can't believe it has been a month already, it went fast. She is the sweetest baby ever and is still so good! She loves her sisters and is already trying to keep up with them. She can hold her head up and pushes herself up with her arms when she is on her belly. She has also been teetering like she is going to roll over, slow down girl. Just recently she started smiling and talking to us. She loves to look around and enjoys frequent changes of scenery. She sleeps 5 1/2 hours at night and loves to snuggle. She also loves to sit up and have her sisters hold her. We have her doc appointment on Thursday so I will post her stats then, but she eats like a horse and is chunking up! She has finally grown into her clothes. She really is so sweet and good, we love you Lyvi!

*Stats*
Alyvia came in at 9 pounds (40% up from 16%)! The doc asked the girls if they were giving her bacon sundaes from BK, haha! She is also 20 inches long (10%) she is definitely short like her mama! She has the best routine ever and can sleep through anything! Last night she slept 71/2 hours woohoo! I hope that is the new routine! I think we can say she is definitely thriving.

Birthday Weekend

This past weekend we kept busy. Ky celebrated his thirty something birthday! He says he is going backwards now and soon will be younger than me, as if!!!

The girls woke up bright and early eager for Ky to open his presents.ImageNew shirts.

We made him a nice big breakfast of eggs, potatoes, bacon, and sausage.

His new backpack that came two days to late.ImageBlowing out his bonfire! We made a chocolate peppermint cake, it was good!

We spent the rest of the day hanging out and getting a few things done. We finally got the doors hung in the girls' rooms, now they can "lock their sisters out". I think Ky had a good birthday even though we couldn't go anywhere, but it was nice just to spend some time together. Happy Birthday Kyle!

On Sunday we skyped with George. He finally got to see the his new niece. He also gave us a tour of his nice house. We even saw some SC rain. We are really hoping to see him this summer, if we are lucky!
Here are some pics of him graduating ODS (2nd in the line) and in his uniforms, he doesn't have his stripes or anything on his whites yet in the photo.
ImageImageImageIt was nice to talk to him and the girls loved sticking their feet in front of the camera! Kami made faces the entire time!

We got some books from my parents and found a bunch of favorites. Kaite found a hospital coloring book and I found this filled out. I love how things are phonetically correct.

Hanging out with the baby, such a good big sister.

She is a thumb sucker, right from the beginning. I also keep forgetting to post that I was right and she is RH+. I have always gotten my RhoGam shots, but I still think that it has something to do with the problems I have during pregnancy. I had a few similar problems with Kaite, my other RH+ baby.Image
Alyvia came down with her first cold this weekend. Ash brought home something from school, thankfully it is not too bad and everyone is recovering fairly well. Lyvi seemed to handle it well too and recovered quickly.
Today we worked on our jungle outside! The yard has been severely neglected during all the craziness. So, today me and Ash got most of it mowed. We still have sections that are crazy tall, but we will be landscaping once Ky is out of school. We have to finish the window wells and then do the landscaping bricks. It should look so much better once we are all done, there is just a lot of work until then!
The girls start swimming lessons next week. This year we are only doing one session instead of two, I don't think I could have handled a month at the pool with a newborn! Then Kaite will be doing soccer once we are done with that.......summer is going fast already!

A few more details

I wanted to write a few more things before I forgot. Back in March Ash came to me one day and said "mom I think the baby will be born on May 26th or 27th" I told her I hoped it was earlier. Well after we found out our induction date (25th) she kept telling me she thought it would be the 26th. I told her no way it would be the 25th since I was on the schedule, she is not letting me forget this! How funny that she called it!!

I also wanted to write about how we came up with Lyvi's name. When we found out we were pregnant we decided the middle name would be either Kyle or Kylie depending on whether it was a boy or girl. We actually had a boy name picked out (a first for us) and had a list of girls names. It took us awhile to even agree on a few girl names, my top ones were Alexa and Ambrey. We also had a few others we liked but nothing seemed right. So, we spent one morning looking through the book together and writing down any possibles. We came across Olivia (which I thought was cute but I don't like Oli), and Ky suggested an A instead of an O. We looked up spellings and found one we liked, after this he was hooked. He kept saying "I think we have found the name" I wasn't giving up on Alexa so easily. I though Alyvia was cute but it did take me awhile to come completely around to it, I did love Lyvi right from the start. Anyway, we agreed that we had to see her first before we were sure. Ky loves the fact that he finally named one of our children!! I think that is why she has him so wrapped around her finger!

I took her in last week to have her billirubin levels checked, they are always fine so I never worry. I am glad that the doc we go to now can do it in the office instead of sending us to the hospital that takes 4 hours to draw blood! Anyway, she was up to 6.10, even the doc seemed surprised but she is an awesome eater. I weighed her today and she is 8 pounds even, holy cow!! She is so small that most of the clothes I have don't fit, they are so big on her. After
Ash I never bought newborn stuff since I have giganto babies, go figure now I would need them. I am hoping that maybe things will start fitting better in the next couple of weeks. I did switch her over to soy. She was still having some problems with the projectile vomiting every now and then, but it wasn't nearly as violent as it was before the sensitive formula. I hope it helps more but it is hard to tell with her since she is so good. She only wakes up once at night and can sleep through anything!! She really is the best baby ever! She loves to look around and sit up and she is holding her head up really well, already. I think she is already trying to catch up to her sisters!

I have felt so great that it has been hard to rest. I want to catch up on all the things I haven't been able to do for months. Yeah this caused me to back-slide a little in my recovery so now I am resting more, or at least trying. I have dropped down below my pre-prego weight in less than a week after delivery, a new record for me! I can also get my pants on and zipped up, what a happy day!

The girls are finishing up school today! I am excited to not have to get up early but cautious of the three of them together everyday all day! They both got some neat prizes over the year for their accomplishments. I think we have enough free ice creams and meals at Wingers to supply us for the entire summer! Kaite won the Arbor day coloring contest a couple of weeks ago and won a tree. She was so excited to plant it and name it, but I think she over watered it. The tree isn't looking very good and she is so disappointed. She was so cute taking care of it though.

Ky's birthday is on Saturday and we are going to play it low key. I am up for something but he keeps reminding me Lyvi isn't even 2 weeks yet, why can't I remember that! The girls are so excited for his birthday (I think more than he is) they have so many things planned.

I turned Kami loose with my camera the other day and she took 676 photos in two days! She had so much fun with it. Here are some of the photos I found on my camera when I got it back.

Alyvia

Today is my due date. Wow, I am glad that I am not still pregnant! We have had almost a week with our little Lyvi. She is so sweet and precious. She is the best baby EVER!! She doesn't hardly ever cry. She is just so content and happy. We all love her so much.
So we were suppose to go into the hospital on Thursday night but they had no room. We went in Friday morning and started the cytotec after I scared the nurse by almost passing out when she started my IV. They finally got the IV in and the medicine going, we spent all day doing this. They broke my water about 7pm, I got the epidural shortly after, and they started the pit at 8pm. Labor was pretty good I didn't feel any of the contractions and did not have any of my hard labor!! The only rough bump was that the epidural kept dropping my blood pressure and it made me so sick. After she was born it was about 20 minutes before I could hold her because I was so sick. She was the best baby right from the start. We are so lucky to have her. One of the nurses told me she was an "angel baby" she really is. She was 6 lbs. 9.5 oz. 19.5 in long born at 2:35 am May 26th.

James and his girlfriend Amanda made the long drive down to visit. We had fun hanging out and getting to know her. They were both good sports and played the wii with the girls.

Unfortunately, we have discovered that Lyvi has a milk allergy. We have had to switch her over to sensitive formula and may still have to do soy. She gave us quite a scare and even turned blue in the hospital. I am glad we knew what was going on and we were able to fix it right away. She is doing much better now and we are hopeful this works.
She is the best baby and the delivery went well. This has been the best recovery for me. I feel better now than I have for months. Everybody is doing great and we are all just enjoying our time together.
