Moonlight my Mozart

12/26/2024

There are times when we are apart

There are times when we enjoy that time

But much like the moonlight

It is always better when we share it’s grace

Mozart wrote his music the same

Platinum ring halo above us

No matter where we lay our heads

Our hearts will always be illuminated

As a hearth laid long to burn

Our souls will remain hot

No matter what weathers us

Enough to find each other again

In the next life

We knew they were watching

As we ambled down winding pathways

And under fated wispers and snickers

They witnessed our first meeting

How they must wonder what happened

Outside of those gated, blessed walls

We will have to go back, if just

To quell the underground rumors

Who had bet against the fox staying

With the ragged, old wolf?

As we continue on our journey together

Let’s see what more lays in waiting

Shining

10/16/2022

You are a star among many

But you are my star, my sun

Your warmth I receive

Your light I reflect

Without you, I am but a rock

Your light makes me shine

So let’s light up lives together

Because what is a sky without stars?

Puzzles

10/09/2022

Puzzle pieces are unique

To fit together, they must

Have the same deformities

And align

The sun and the moon must shine

Shoreline meets boardwalk

It makes sense

Perhaps we were from another story

Marc Antony and Cleopatra

The pieces fit together

Oasis

10/05/2022

I’ve been traveling in the desert

For so long now

Existing on nomad Bedouin hospitality

Maslovian needs met under duress

And then I saw you

My eyes may deceive me

My senses are piqued

It has been so long to find this respite

Shade and cold drink

Let us hope

That this is not a mirage

That good thing

12/25/2017

I have a good thing going

You leave me wanting

More

Of you

And when you leave

It makes me understand

Just how good I’ve got it

Flashlight

11/26/2017

Wading through the wallow

I found a beautiful way

She didn’t know it

Through stys and puddles

I found my way

So I know

You shine the light

Balance

11/25/2017

I am a simpleton

This I know

You are above my class

This too, I know

But, in this state

I have the advantage

Being that

You love me too+

Be close to me

11/25/2017

They say distance makes the heart grow fonder

But when your breath is on my neck

I have you wrapped closely

My heart does not wont

Do not linger, nor tarry

Unless by my side

Be hasty in your return

For my heart longs for you

Please come back to me

Your joy is infectious

Missing you is like the blankets torn away on a cold morning

I want you in your nook

My oasis

11/10/2017

There are things that I cannot change

The broken shards of life that sting

Like nettles around my heart

Infecting my attitude

Reflected in my prickly disposition

You are my desert flower

Bountiful beacon of beauty

In less-than-friendly environs

The sweet pear fruit of the cactus

I find my sustenance in your eyes

You water my soul and revitalize it

From a natural spring of goodness

My splinters glom over in your dew

I hope to wear an amber coat

To shield from future fractition
