My Two Babes

Eli is in denial that he is still a baby yet he "needs" his pacifiers and he has no desire to give up his diapers.  We have now designated his bed as the only place he can use his "pasos".  It's quite entertaining to see him go upstairs on his own to take a hit on one of those bad boys.  I'm in no hurry to let him grow up though.  He and Ty may be potty training at the same time.  I'm a softy!!

My Dancing Queen

A few months ago I was led to a dance company for Ruby that sounded like a good situation. Learning that modesty and wholesome moves were a part of the regime I signed her up.  As I got more information I realized it was going to be a lot more time consuming and  a lot more money than I had expected.  Feeling overwhelmed I kept reminding myself that I only had one daughter, I could do this for my one daughter.  I'll admit that I have complained and wondered if I had made the right decision.  But after one of her performances at the State Fair a few weeks ago I'm thrilled with my decision.  I loved seeing her up on stage and she loves being on stage.  She's got some great confidence and looooves to dance.  Basically, it's all worth it when I see how much she loves it.  And she is so dang cute!!!!!

I love her kicks.  She puts all her strength into it while lacking any sort of form.

In my opinion, she has got it!!  Whatever it is, she's got it!!

Sign me up for next year!  I'm sold!

I love that she glances over at me throughout her whole performance.  I don't know if she feels the camera on her or if she wants to make sure I'm watching but regardless, she sees a mom that is just beaming.  I love that I'm Ruby's mom!!!!!

MY FAVORITE HALLOWEENERS

A little bit late but thought that there may be some older yet more distinguished women who may want to get a load of their grandkids on Halloween, this post is for you.
ImageYou can't tell from the picture but Ty was a bit fussy on Halloween so we didn't mess with a costume.  But just wait 'til next year, he's going to blow your mind.  The rest of the photos should speak for themselves.

I've never considered myself one who has to match.  I never buy "outfits" and my bedroom and living room furniture were all bought at different times from different places.  I like things to look right together but they don't have to be a set, I'd actually prefer things not to come as a set.   But now I'm beginning to wonder if I've changed...
Which leads me to this, our dryer has been on it's last leg for awhile and this weekend we had to come to terms with the fact that it has done its time.   We've had it since we've only had one child and now we have five - it has done well.  So, this means a new dryer.  Of course I want the latest and greatest front loader with stand to make it higher and of course I would love it in a cool, funky color like red.    But the problem is that my husband is threatening that he will only be buying the dryer - it makes sense, our washing machine still works.  But the thought is horrifying - they're not going to match.  A sleek machine next to an old-timer.  I politely informed Paul that when you give a mom a dryer she's going to want a washing machine to go with it.  Stay tuned...
