An Attempt to Re-enter the World of Blogging

With Nolan on a more regular nap schedule, I'm slowly finding more time to get things done. I'm hoping I can start back up with blogging, since it is such a fun way to record our family memories. So much has happened since I last blogged. Benson is now 3 1/2 years old and Nolan is 7 months. I LOVE the age that Nolan is at right now, I wish he could stay this old forever.

Here is what he is up to now...
He loves to crawl and goes out of his way to try and crawl up the stairs
He can pull himself up onto things and tries to play on the couches with Benson
He has 7 going 0n 8 teeth
His face lights up when he sees his big brother, he loves Benson
He's a Momma's boy (I don't mind one bit)
He claps when we say 'yay'
He can say 'hi' or makes sounds like 'hi'

As for our little Benson, he has quite the personality. The 3 year old stage has been bittersweet. We definitely have our wars (his preschool teachers uses the word "headstrong") but on the other hand he can be sooo super sweet. He is totally into superheroes right now and thinks that saying the word 'poop' is hilarious. Is it bad that sometimes I think it's funny too? He has a very large vocabulary for a 3 year old and is so smart when it comes to understanding the world around him. The other day he told me that I look 'illuminous,'  he told me that, that means I look nice.  I'm still trying to figure out where he heard that word.  He has been very good with Nolan and thinks it is his job to protect him. He does not like it when other people besides Mommy or Daddy hold his baby brother. I'm so proud of the way that he has adapted to having a brother.  Benson has just started saying his prayers and now wants to say them at every meal.  It melts my heart hearing him tell his Heavenly Father that he is thankful for his Mommy, Daddy and Nolan and that he loves having us as his family.

Lundon is loving his job as a dentist and he has been very busy. He says that instead of watching the clock and wishing that the time would go faster, he watches the clock wishing he had more time. As for me, I love that I get to stay home with my two boys. It gets a little chaotic at times, but I feel like we are at such a fun stage in our lives.

Here are some pictures from Christmas. Every year, Santa comes to Grandma Albrecht's house. He brings a bag of presents (one for each person) and when he calls out your name you have to sit on his lap so he can give you your present. Benson did not want to sit on his lap, but really wanted a present. This is a pic. of him debating whether or not to do it...

Our Relocation to Northeast Ohio

Yep, we moved! It has been 2 wonderful months since we moved into our new home and "real life" has finally kicked in. Benson and I are enjoying the fact that when Lundon is home, he is actually home and not running around doing Dental school stuff. Since we've moved we have been busy having lots of visitors including my Dad, Mom, sister Natalie, Aunt Lisa, cousins Cory and Cami, Lundon's old mission companion Brandon, college friends Brian, Lacy and daughter Alli (Benson's adorable friend), Darren and Tiffany(+2 in her belly). We also just got back on Sunday from the Albrecht family 7 day cruise, which I will try an post about soon.

I'm not sure how I'm going to like the winters since we are now in the snow belt, but this summer has been so fun! I was afraid that there wouldn't be much to do here, but between the visitors and Benson we have kept pretty busy. Yesterday we went and picked blackberries at a cute little farm just 1 mile down the road. If you keep going you'll run into Lake Erie and find an awesome park with a playground right on the water. If you go West for 15 minutes you'll run into Fairport Harbor beach. Yes, we actually have a beach with sand and everything:) They offer yoga there that I will be frequenting more often now that our big vacation is over and life is starting to slow down. We are members of the outdoor YMCA which has 4 different pools, 3 of which are kid pools only with water toys. Now our next big project is grass so Benson has a yard to play in. We have a lot of things that we need to add to our new house, but we love having visitors and you guys are welcome anytime!

Side Note: 6 more days until Mockingjay comes out!!

Lundon took out all 4 of Natty's wisdom teeth while she was here (2 were impacted). What a trooper!

This is this house that my Mom grew up in. My grandparents sold it just 2 years ago. It is only 30 minutes away from where we live so we decided to go take a visit.

A Penny a Day?

It's been a long time since I've been in the blogging world! Hopefully, I can ease my way back in and keep this thing updated more often.

Our latest news is that Benson decided to eat a penny on Friday night. He loves to play with what he calls "money" and so we've been letting him play with pennies. On Friday night I noticed he put his "money" in his mouth, so I asked him to spit it out. All of a sudden his eyes grew really big, he opened his mouth and pointed down his throat. I started freaking out and called the Dr. He told me that as long as he was eating and breathing fine not to worry about it. So, yesterday I started my diaper diving. I have to say that this is one of the most disgusting things I've ever done. I didn't find a penny all day! This morning Benson threw up and thinking that it must be stuck in his esophagus, we took him to the hospital. We took X-rays and guess what? No penny! This did not sit well with me because, I never saw it come out. So, I found the old diapers and started round 2 of my doo-doo digging . It was far worse the 2nd time around. A few dry heaves later and I found the penny. I'm so glad to finally be rid of this situation. It has been a long weekend!

On a lighter note, we now have a hole in the ground and cement poured for our new house! We are on track to move in sometime in July! We are very excited!
