Sunday Flotsam and Jetsam

Have a new miscellaneous thoughts and observations post up on Substack.

Looks like both the regimes in Iran and Cuba are about to fall. Is it bad that I hope they can hold off for just a short while? Have the awful feeling one or both will fall on Tuesday and I selfishly want to keep March 17th for the Irish. All I'm asking for is one day.

Saturday Flotsam and Jetsam

Have a new miscellaneous thoughts and observations post up on Substack.

Saint Patrick's Day really seems to have snuck up on many this year (me included). Not sure why that is since it's always been March 17th. It's not just St, Paddy's either - next week is spring break for many. Now that really seems to have snuck up.

Some college football offseason thoughts and observations a week after the college sports roundtable at the White House.

Friday Flotsam and Jetsam

Have a new miscellaneous thoughts and observations post up on Substack.

There was a tragic shooting at Old Dominion yesterday yet the usual voices calling for gun confiscation after such events are oddly silent today. Skeptical minds might think this is because the shooter was a radicalized Islamist felon given early release by a liberal judicial system and the good guys were unarmed military cadets. That doesn't quite match the preferred narrative does it. Wonder if that's why those voices are silent today?

Thursday Flotsam and Jetsam

Have a new miscellaneous thoughts and observations post up on Substack.

The reverberation of Baltimore backing out of the trade for the Raiders Maxx Crosby keep coming. The Raven pivoted and signed free agent Trey Hendrickson and kept their two first round draft picks while news comes out that Las Vegas minority owner Tom Brady nixed any potential trade with the Patriots. This is turning into While the NFL Turns.

Tuesday Flotsam and Jetsam

Have a new miscellaneous thoughts and observations post up on Substack.

The NFL is about to open their calendar year tomorrow but teams and players can announce deals now. This is why you've seen a flurry of top names being cut or signed with the actually contracts not being signed until tomorrow or later. Look for mid-level players to be signed later - maybe even after the NFL draft next month.

Monday Flotsam and Jetsam

Have a new miscellaneous thoughts and observations post up on Substack.

President Trump says he will not sign another bill into law until the Save America Act is passed in the Senate. Voter ID is something most Americans are in favor of and I hope this Presidential boycott works. It's another 80/20 issue Trump has placed the Republicans on the side of the 80% leaving the Democrats to explain why they favor something 88% of citizens are against.
