Longyue Wang

Senior Algorithm Expert @ Alibaba

Longyue is currently the Lead of LLM Group, AI Application, Alibaba Cloud. Prior joining Alibaba, he served as a senior research fellow at Tencent AI Lab & Robotics X. He received Ph.D degree at Dublin City University in 2018, under the supervision of Prof. Qun Liu and Prof. Andy Way. Dr. Wang achieved the Best Thesis Award by the European Association for Machine Translation (EAMT).

Longyue has studied and practiced in a broad field of AI including Large Language Model, Multimodal, Language Agent, Natural Language Processing, Machine Translation and AI for Science. He has published 100 papers in leading journals and conferences such as Nature Communications, TPAMI, ICML, NeurIPS and ACL. Besides, he was nominated for the Best Paper Award at ACMMM2024. He has filed for 60 U.S. and China patents. In academic competitions, he and his team has secured 16 championships and 10 runner-up positions.

Dr. Wang served as Area Chair of ACL and Senior Area Chair of AACL. He is IEEE Senior Member, Committee Member of Chinese Information Processing Society of China (Youth Working & Machine Translation).
