” You are what you eat “

Watched a pretty cool documentary tonight on GMO’s the most common thing in the world right now but yet so many of us don’t even know what it is. The movie describes and explains what one of the biggest industries in the world ( food industry) has been hiding from us and mass producing a product for capitalistic ventures that’s contaminating the food which we eat. Specifically here in America. Yup, as if i didn’t already had a hard time deciding what type of food i want to eat in the day , this just really narrowed down my options. All in all , it was a very informative film which educated and exposed me to something i had no idea about.

little did she know.

A few weeks back , we all remember seeing Kim Kardashian’s  glossy ass for paper magazines issue ” Break the internet”.  Well she did break the internet alright , breaking fans, breaking opinions, and breaking most male screens. Little did Kim Kardashian know that her famous picture is a remake of another picture with the actual original presenting a black woman with similar curvacious buttocks. The story behind the picture is the story behind racism against African American women who’s very bodacious bodies were considered animalistic and not “normal” like the average Caucasian woman in the 18th century.

Concerts & things.

This past weekend I went to go see the conservatory of dance Fall 2014 concert. And man was I impressed. It was lovely to see so many familiar faces around campus move through space so graciously and effortlessly. So many different dances and productions that went up , and each one was different in its own individual way conveying and evoking some sort of different emotion to it. My favorite piece was of one ensemble of dancers where they all wore shades of grey and the piece started off towards the back white wall of the Dance Theater lab. Various dancers were moving and running back and forth from different walls and the lighting was very focused and bright which made it catch my attention more opposed to other dances were the lighting was dim and sort of expected. All and all, this concert made me realize what a great and amazing school i can say i am a part of and get to witness the beauty of what it is like coming to a liberal arts college.

successful blogs.

Today I google’d famous and popular blogs. Amongst the search, an article had came up that was titled “10 steps to a successful blog.” Many things were said ; like the first sentence much catch the reader and the title should be engaging , bla bla bla. But the best thing i got out of that article was that SIMPLICITY IS KEY. The simpler and straight to the point you keep the blog , the better it will be. I highly agree, this is definitely the motto I live my whole life by.

Liberal college…. duh.

Purchase was ranked top 25 most liberal colleges in the nation. Not shocking at all , due to the fact that it is an arts school with a vast variety of different majors and our school is open to homosexuality. This is very controversial due to the area in which our school inhabits; Westchester county and just 10 minutes away from  Greenwich Connecticut where the masses are predominately republican. This shows how determined newer generations are to changing views and perceptions on the status quo. Although the differences in opinions and comments on party differences, we can all agree that times are changing , and the up and coming generations are roaring for change.
