Aprons!

Image
Three aprons I have made using tea towels.
The parts I cut from the arm areas were joined together to make pockets.
Two will be gifted and a new apron for me!

The last finishes for 2019 for me.

Thought I would share the lovely decoration that Maria made for me.
It is now hanging on my Blogging Friends Christmas Tree.
Thank you Maria. In the background you can see part
of my elves hanging that Maria made for me a few years ago.
It has 3 elves with the initials of "M', "A" and "N"
for Mitchell, Austin and Nelson!

A Forgotten Project

Image
I went into my sewing room to look for something and found this stitchery.
I'd forgotten I even stitched it. I didn't quite get it finished for last Christmas.
The stitching was finished on 5th January and put  away ready for framing.
Luckily I had this frame so I got to work. I'm sure I had the frame in January
so there really was no excuse for not finishing it off!

Shopping Bags!

Image
Here are five shopping bags I have made for gifts.
It took me over 2 hours going through my stash deciding
which fabrics to use. I kept changing my mind!
Does anyone else have this problem?

Friday Night With Friends

Image
It was the last Friday Night With Friends for 2019.
As we went out for dinner last night, I joined the ladies in the
Northern Hemisphere today. I managed to put together a shopping bag that
folds up to go in your handbag. I have five to make but things got in the
way today and only one was made. The others are all cut out ready to go.

Thank you to Chez for hosting us this year.

Santa Sacks For 2019

Image
After making eight Santa sacks last Christmas,
three new ones were needed for this year.
One for Billie, my great niece who was born in August.
Ruby and Evie are the two little girls who live next door to Mum.
Mum has become a bit of a substitute grandmother to the girls
as one of their grandmothers lives in Queensland.
I asked Mum if she would like me to make the girls one
and she was happy for me to do that.

Friday Night Sew-In

Image
It's that time of the year again and I needed to make
some more decorations to give as gifts.
I made four of these cute wood and felt ones last night.

Thank you to Wendy for hosting us last night.
You can see what others got up to here.
Image
I'm now heading to my favourite chair to spend a lazy Saturday
stitching and watching Christmas movies on Netflix. First up
I'll stitch the girl's names onto the fabrics for their Santa sacks.
Then I'm going to work on my Lillian Elizabeth's Kitchen

Friday Night With Friends

Image
I stitched the labels for the three Santa sacks.
Now to stitch them to the fabric and put the sacks together.
Image
Also did a bit of chain stitching on block 6 of
Jenny's Phyllis May's Kitchen. It's nearly two weeks since
I last touched this so it's certainly going to be a long term project!

Thank you to the lovely Chez for hosting us.

OPAM for October

Image
No finishes for me this month.
But I did go shopping this morning for some Christmas fabrics.
I need to make three more Santa Sacks. One for our great niece Billie
who was born in August. The other two will be for the little girls
who live next door to Mum. Mum has become their substitute
grandmother as their grandmother lives in Queensland.

Thanks to Kris for trying to keep me inspired.
One day I'm sure my mojo will come back!

Five Days Of Celebrations!

Image
Austin and Nelson's birthdays are two days apart.
Birthday celebrations started last Tuesday for
Nelson's 19th birthday. Ice cream cake #1.
Image
Austin turned 21 on Thursday.
We had a joint birthday dinner on Wednesday for both boys
when Nana and Austin's girlfriend,
Paris and her family came. Ice cream cake #2.
Thursday night we just normal dinner
(Austin's choice of tuna mornay!).
Image
Saturday was party night with friends. Image
 Austin and the beautiful Paris.
Image
Sunday we had a family lunch with the relatives at the local RSL.
The lunch was mainly for Austin's 21st but he insisted
Nelson's name was on the cake too.
I got into trouble at Austin's 18th for not putting
Nelson's name on the cake! The lady at the cake shop suggested a
chocolate disc for adding Nelson's name.
I thought that was a great idea.
Image
The boys had a couple of helpers to blow the candles out.
Image
Nelson still has his Grand Final premiers smile!
Image
Five days of celebrating are now over!

Friday Night Sew-In for October

Image
I worked on block 6 of Jenny's Phyllis May's Kitchen
For some reason I had trouble stitching "yummy bakes".
I think for every two or three stitches, I unpicked one.
I had either missed a thread or the stitch was crooked.
Maybe I should have just put it away.
But I got the wording finished in the end!

Thanks to Wendy for hosting us last night.
You can see what the others got up to here.

Friday Night With Friends

Image
Last night I continued working on my Lillian Elizabeth's Kitchen
(Jenny's Phyllis May's Kitchen). Block 3 is now finished.
Image
Then I made a start on Block 5.
Image
I'm loving how this is coming along.

Thanks to Chez for hosting us for FNWF.

Still Smiling, A Weekend Away and OPAM

Image
The Grand Final celebrations keep going.
Nelson and the lovely Jameson off to the
Eltham Football Club Presentation Night.
That winning smile still hasn't left his face!
Image
Noel and I headed up to Beechworth in country Victoria
for a few days and stayed with his brother and wife.
We had perfect weather the whole time
(apparently it poured and was cold in Melbourne on Friday!).
Saturday we went to our niece's cafe for some scones.
Best scones in town! See those lovely tea cups?
They used to belong to my mother-in-law.
It's always nicer to have tea in proper tea cups.
Image
This is Betsy (and Bella at the back).
Look at those big beautiful eyes.
Image
Beverley and Ian have this beautiful wood fired stove.
I made a couple of quiches. This was the first time
I have ever cooked in one of these.
Makes you realised how hard it was in the
old days keeping the temperature constant.
Image
Managed to get a little stitching done too.
This is block 3 of Jenny's Phyllis May's Kitchen.
Image
Block 4 that I finished last week.
 Image
 Now for September OPAM.
One finish with Billie's baby quilt.
