Swedish newspaper JP
writes in 2019

"Mats Andersson creates images like a painting artist. Or as a poet. I will several times think of Christer Strömholm who has the same personal approach, regardless of motives."

French Magazine Chasses Internationales writes in 2022
"Mats Andersson has an important and beautiful signature in Swedish nature and wildlife photography.
It is in black and white that he stages his scenes with the elegance of the greats.
He owes his finesse to an ultra-sensitivity that he learned to tame by observing the works of great painters."
