The day of immense trolling for laughs and giggles, April fools, has come by once again. This year, it has a pretty good start which is either unique or somewhat effective way for believing every individual.
First, Type-moon has an upgraded version of roleplaying using twitter like this one. On the other hand, Tokyotoshokan, one of the best torrent sites exclusively for fansubbed to RAW anime, hentai, music, and other media, has another gimmick to trick everyone. Last year, they said that TT was bought by a chinese entrepreneur and changed the name into “Beijing Tushukan”, but this year, they used Crunchyroll’s layout with fake promos and giveaways. Despite all of this, the start of spring season is just around the corner as well. As usual, casual anime fans couldn’t wait for fresh newcomers to hit the TV stations, fansubbers, and fans themselves.
In other world-breaking news, we have a Japanese chewing gum advertisement featuring the main heroines of Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu. In effect, the ploy and marketing tactics have been taken to a higher, new level.
Meanwhile, Baka to Test to Shokanjuu Season 2 has been officially announced in its website. Well sorta, it might be another April Fools joke, but I, who enjoyed and loved the series so much, want another serving, and Japan shouldn’t let anyone down at the moment.
Also, not-so-long weeks ago, I had browsed Nico Douga for my daily/weekly dose of fresh pop-culture videos. I stumbled upon the Rasmus Faber’s Platina Jazz – they played some anime songs, “jazzed” all of it, and made some heavenly, lovable creations. Here’s a sample live from Sweden. Download the soundtrack here.
Recently, moot, who created 4chan, unleashed 4chan 2.0, where a certain poster can submit a post from Facebook via 4chan. It seems pretty useless to all who don’t have a Facebook account, and reclusive Anonymous of 4chan such as myself. Either way, moot should have another gimmick in order to cover up this utmost regret.
So far, this is most likely the best April Fools’ Day I’ve ever witnessed so far, and I hope I would see more of this for a limited time.
