Movie time!

We've been sick a lot this week (sinus infections, ear infections, bronchitis and no sleep) so a lot of movies have been watched...

Peter Pan: Best watched under the sheets, together.

Nikki-isms.

1.Uncle Chris is the funniest/coolest person - EVER!

below seen stuffing leaves into a watering can - lasted for over an hour.

2. Not so much into dresses (hates them), but LOVES tiaras and hair. 

3. Favorite pastimes is emptying a cupboard that is conveniently at her level and full of wierd stuff that gets everywhere. Here in a rare moment, even David finds it fun... Dad not so much.

4. Can sit buttering a piece of toast for hours.... literally hours.

5. a) Wants to be like her brother and copies almost everything he does.
5. b) Loves the iPhone.

6. She's officially out of diaphers and without a dummy - CHAMP!!

David Comedic Input this Weekend

1. At Primark he saw this maniquin and start pulling off his top. I told him off as I thought he was going exchange shirts... instead he lifted his top over his head and went and stood very still next to the maniquin. 

2. We get him a set of 4 puzzles, he assembles them at record time and then is uber proud.

3. It's great to see how fun he can have with some cardboard, here he was a pretty funny robot.

4. After we played this board game I left the room (to cook, do laundry or something equally excited). After the kids had fallen asleep I found the board like this, basically all my pieces at the start and all of his in the 'goal'/end. I love the way that all of his pieces are stood around in a circle and look like they are big time celebrating their win. Maybe we made him too competitive.

David makes me laugh

Today I kept anxiously reminding David that he's going to the local petting zoo / farm with his whole year (75 kids between the age of 4-5yrs) and sleeping there for 2 (!!) nights. I kept bringing it up and showing him the bag with all the carefully marked clothes and a mini bag for each day to make sure he understood what was going to actually happen.

We're a wierd trilingual bunch, so his delay in communication always makes me over compensate in my explanations. I roll my eyes at myself when I catch myself repeating the same thing in three languages in an effort to assure myself that the message gets through. That, coupled with the fact that he randomly 'tunes out' like my Dad makes me unsure of what he really understands.

In the middle of dinner I brought it all up for the 4th time by asking if he wants me to be there when the bus comes to wave him off (NB the farm is down the road), he took my hand, looked me in the eye and said "Don't worry mom, I'll be back home soon",  then he turned away and carried on eating.

I guess he's ok with it then.

You've gotta love kiddie art...

For me a highlights is fact that there is no body and the size of the eyes and the smile.

I'm baaaaaaaack!

It's almost been 6 months since my last post and the time just flew by. I have a ton of excuses but I'm sure they would just bore people :)

Instead here's a picture of Buzz Lightyear having crashed into our Christmas tree (aka lit the lights before putting them on the tree, left the room for 15 minutes and came back to this). I think he looks worried that I am going to tell him off.
