A sky Beyond CalleD
hEr voice, a Freefall of Glitter;
Her Impertinent Jade eyes winK,
Leaving Me NO Pause to think;
Quite unfaiR you See,
To lUre me, to conniVe with the shooting stars...
What chance do I have against her eXquisite wiles?
WhY does the breeZe just whisper when heavens collide?

Dawn breaks into my cocoon;
I unfurl, my first breath in a world of others;
I twirl, my petals inviting winged angels,
my nectar enticing;
I feed their foolish fantasies,
pack little yellow suitcases
for them to travel far,
where I will bloom again.

I write to feel
those moments for real;
Pause on the page,
savour and breathe;
Ask my other self
"Are you still me?"
Each day, each word
a thread to weave;
The rush of time
rests by a lake,
as tranquil wakes
to soothe the now;
Thoughts take shape
and enter the soul
to find a phrase
that says it all;
My fingers move
like music I know
I let it flow free
into poetry;
That last letter
I loathe to leave
for if I open my eyes
I will see

I stepped out from the silence
into the darkness
with an old-fashioned flashlight,
one that could be used as a weapon ...when daylight comes.
I walked unseeing
through the haze of timelessness
past the old banyan tree,
one that knew all the stories
of all our unspoken deeds.
I traced my days,
sketching cobwebbed thoughts
of matchstick men and crayon dreams
along the trail of my footsteps
to find myself once more.

I'm happy she said.
Her voice is slow, soft,
as she places a lily, a rose, a kiss
on every version of her
that revealed to her,
her courage to be flawed,
her fears holding her back,
her wonder that made her stay,
real and kind and
quietly, radiantly, alive.
