The Wedding Hand Book, A Guide To A Perfect Wedding

This cover was my very VERY first attempt in the world of photo editing, This Book as you all may see is basically about wedding. It is a non-fiction book. It took me quite a while to think of a perfect title as the title determines what kind of book it will be, so I thought I’d just make a simple guide book to all which would be useful ( if the content was included as well ) to those who are planning to settle down. This book basically tells the things couple should do before getting married, the preparations the have to make , the Do’s and Don’ts in marriage, Common mistakes in planning a wedding and of course also touches a little on wedding budget. The idea of creating this book had long be on my mind as I am a freak towards weddings. I always had imagination on weddings and I’ve always loved to involve myself in planning a wedding. Believe it or not it’s was my dream back when I was a little kid – To be a wedding planner. It still is I believe, The passion have always been there. I always believed that A wedding should be made a special as possible, it doesn’t necessarily have to be expensive, just a little personal touch to it would make it special and memorable. So there it is my first ever wedding hand book ! =D

Image

Girl .. The Secret She Never Tells You

Here comes my second creation , somehow I got addicted with editing that I continued creating another cover. This time it is a novel that uses girl as the main subject of the writing. This book has also been a long time dream. I’ve always wanted to write about girls and feelings and foolishness and obsessions towards the things they love. A Book that generally talks about the nature of a girl and goes deep into they lives and emotions and past history’s that hurt them and how they stood up against it and how it had made them stronger woman.A book based on real experiences, a book that tells the story about a young naive teenage girl named – Rhea.

Image

A Tale … Of You and Me

Like I said before I’m getting addicted in editing. They say addiction is a bad thing, I’m not sure if it is in this case 🙂 Here comes my final cover ( Of Course with my new editing passion I could go on creating a hundred more piece =p but this would be it for now ) I know the cover may seem like it will be a  typical love story between a girl and boy but it’s more than that. This book tells the story of two people who had been in love with each other since childhood but never had the guts to tell each other and never told anyone else either and was separated after fight. Would these two silent lovers ever get together ? What’ll happen then ? This is the story ….

GE2153 ::: WEEK 10 ::: REFLECTION 9

🙂 Beautiful day Beautiful People 🙂

This week’s lecture is about

Multimedia Elements Sound, Animation and Video

i) SOUND

Here are some useful sound tips For the Internet

*Appropriate Use*

Consider the appropriateness of using sound. Some sounds are content-related, such a hearing a foreign phrase pronounced. Other sounds are for effect, such as creating a mood or setting a scene. Avoid using sound when there’s no compelling benefit.

*Quality*

Start with the highest-quality sound available and reduce the file size by converting the audio file to a compressed format. When possible, avoid using free sound clips available from the internet. These are often of poor quality and overused.

*Cost Considerations*

When recording audio files, it may be cost-prohibitive to contract with a recording studio and hire professional talent. Investing in reasonably high-end equipment , however will prove worthwhile.

*Alternative Methods*

Consider using sound and still images as an alternative to video to reduce file sizes. It maybe just as effective to show a photograph of a speaker and play the sound file of the speech as it is to show a video of a “talking head”

*Streaming*

Consider streaming the audio, especially for large files

*User Control*

If appropriate, provide a way to give the user some control over the audio. Consider allowing the user to skip the sound clip or adjust the volume. This issue is especially important if a musical introduction is played when the user enters a website. The second time visiting the site, the user may not want to hear the musical introduction.

ii) ANIMATION

*2-D Animation*

There are two types of animation exist

” Cel Animation “

Based on changes that occur from one frame to the next

” Path Animation “

Moves an object along a predetermined path on the screen

*3-D Animation*

3-D Animation involves Three Steps

” Modeling “

Creating the broad contours and structure of 3-D objects and scenes

” Animation “

Defining the objects motion

” Rendering “

Giving objects attributes such as color, surface textures, and amounts of transparency

*3-D Animation Special Effects*

” Morphing “

Blending together two images into a series of images

” Warping ”

Distorts a single image

” Virtual Reality “

Creates an environment that surrounds the user so that he or she becomes part of the experience

” Animated Text “

Using The HTML command causes text to flash on and off

” Animated gif “

Using a software program to create a series of gif files such as GIF Builder

” Director Movie “

Animation played using Shockwave plug-in

” 3-D Environments ”

A computer language used to create 3-D images

iii) VIDEO

*types of video compression*

” Lossless “

Preserves the exact image throughout the compression

” Lossy “

Eliminates some of the date in the image ( provides greater compression ratios than lossless)

* Types of Video Transfer over the Internet*

” HTTP – Hypertext Transfer Protocol “

Downloads the entire video to the hard drive on the user’s computer

” RTSP – Real-Time Streaming Protocol ”

is a continuous-playing, streaming technology in which the user’s computer is in constant contact with the server playing the video

So There You Have It People

A Brief Summary On

Multimedia Elements Sound , Animation and Video

Sorry Dr. I know I should have completed this ages ago! time constraint ..

Anyways ! Week 8 I have reached =p

In this lecture notes Dr. Rosseni have linked a format to report writing for our video as well as Three links on video Production

1. The Machine Is Us ? or The Machine Is Using Us ?

That truly depends whether you want to a slave to machine or you make the machine. The power of these tools lies in the hand of the users. Use it smart, Use it Well

2. A Vision of Students Today – Creating Human Network In Africa

A story of Africa. Where Education is not east to obtain. Money Rules The World I Guess. Changes Have To / Are Being Made.

3. A Vision of Students Today – Web 3.0

A very interesting video I must say, The reality of education level these day. Must we realize how lucky we are to be gifted in such a way that most people could only dream of. ” I facebook through my class” – That’s the reality ? Are these kids using technology with benefit or just for entertainment sake ?

GE2153 ::: WEEK 7 ::: REFLECTION 6

Hello Beautiful People.. We Meet Again 🙂

This week’s lecture would focus on

INFORMATION SKILLS PROCESS

There are basically 8 simple rule/ steps involved in processing an information

These are not any highly overrated steps but are those involved in our daily basis

Let’s go through ’em all , shall we ?

1. Defining Task or Goals

Before we begin our work on a certain project , we must first and foremost define our task without it our work would seem rather pointless. How do we define a task ? What are the informations we need to gather before beginning ? We need to know what the task is mainly about? What are the keywords? What are the informations that I need to find and what do I already have in my hand ? Questions I need to ask ? Mind Mapping would be a good start in defining the task as all the things needed to be done can be seen clearly with their relationship to one another.

2. Locating

In locating, we need to know what kind of information we would need that could help our report writing. for instance, we should know the source on where could we gather information ? from a library perhaps ? Or maybe talking to experienced people ? Getting advice and tips. Print sources could be a great help as well as media such as the internet or television and radio.

3. Evaluating

In evaluation, we need to know whether the details gathered are enough? The sources where the details were taken would have to be suitable and at the right level. Nevertheless, informations presented should be up to date. We wouldn’t want to be reading something that’s out of date and irrelevant do we ?

4. Selecting

The selecting process involves asking oneself several questions for example,  such as what information do I really need to use ? What can I leave out ? How relevant is the information ? How will I record it ? and What style of note taking suits the task ?

5. Developing Original Thought

In any assignment it is good to show our understanding regarding the work. To develop an original thought it is good to analyze information, compare and contrasting, make relevant inferences and interpret as well as comment.

6. Organizing

To organize our assignment, it is important to ask ourselves these for question. The questions are, How can I best use this information? Have I got enough information ? Do I need to use all the information I have ? How can I combine information from different sources ? when writing the bibliography it is important to record the source of information, use wide range of sources, acknowledge ideas and sources in writing. And of course before submitting, check it thoroughly, make sure no mistakes are made and edits are all complete.

7. Presenting

After submitting our work, we would need to make a presentation that summarizes the report which we have made. In order to make a presentation, we should plan on how the information would be presented, who are the audience and are there any proper structure to the presentation. it is crucial to plan a presentation so that it would be interesting and information could be delivered smoothly. Failure in planning would only lead to a poor presentation.

8. Evaluating and Reflecting

After all had done, we should evaluate our work. Reflect on the lesson have learned throughout the whole process and whether the requirement had be fulfilled.

There you go boys and girls

8 simple steps on information processing skills

🙂 See yea Pepz ! 🙂

p/s : 5 more reflections to go =p

GE2153 ::: WEEK 6 ::: REFLECTION 5

Hello Again !

Finally after a very very long time, i’m back blogging again and this time mainly is to complete my reflections on Tecno which I have abandoned for quite some time due to a busy / hectic schedule… so here I am now 🙂

As for week 6 .. I have read through lecture notes uploaded on Dr. Rosseni’s blog entitled

“Camera Shots For Video Production “

well that’s not exactly the title.. I just made that up but that is the content of the lecture.

Here’s a summary on what I understand on camera shot and other photography tecniques

These are the types of shots :-

Extreme Wide Shot (EWS)

The view is so far from the subject that it isn’t even visible. The point of this shot is to show the subject’s surroundings.

Image

Very Wide Shot (VWS)

It is much closer to the subject than an extreme wide shot, but still much further away than a wide shot. The subject is visible here but only just.

Image

Wide Shot ( WS)

The subject takes up the full frame. The subject doesn’t take up the whole width and height of the frame. The small amount of room above and below the subject can be thought of as safety room.

Image

Mid Shot ( MS)

The mid shot shows some part of the subject in more detail, whilst still showing enough for the audience to feel as if they were looking at the whole subject. In fact, this is an approximation of how you would see a person “in the flesh” if you were having a casual conversation. You wouldn’t be paying any attention to their lower body, so that part of the picture is unnecessary.

Image

Close Up (CU)

In the closeup shot, a certain feature or part of the subject takes up most of the frame. A close up of a person usually means a close up of their face (unless specified otherwise)

Image

Extreme Close Up ( XCU)

Gets right in and shows extreme detail. Shows only a part of character’s face. It fills the screen with the details of a subject.

Image

Cut In (CI)

Specifically refers to showing some part of the subject in detail

Image
Two Shot

There are a few variations on this one, but the basic idea is to have a comfortable shot of two people. Often used in interviews, or when two presenters are hosting a show

Image

Over The Shoulder Shot (OSS)

This shot is framed from behind a person who is looking at the subject. The person facing the subject should usually occupy about 1/3 of the frame.

Image

Noddy Shot

Common in interviews, this is a shot of the person listening and reacting to the subject. In fact, when shooting interviews with one camera, the usual routine is to shoot the subject (using OSS and one-shots) for the entire interview, then shoot some noddies of the interviewer once the interview is finished. The noddies are edited into the interview later

Image

POV

This shot shows a view from the subject’s perspective. It is usually edited in such a way that it is obvious whose POV it is.

Image

Weather Shot

In this type of shot the subject is the weather. The sky takes up at least 2/3 of the frame. This type of shot is common in television programs where the weather is of particular interest.

Image

So there we go, a couple of shots we have learned from the lecture notes !

phewww ~ done with 1 reflection .. 6 more to go ! T_T

Busy Busy Hectic Week !!!!!!!!

It’s gonna be a very very busy week !!!!!!

here’s what’s coming :-

1) 14 /2/ 2011 –  mid sem PBT

2) 16/2/2011 – mid sem STAT

3) 19/2/2011 – ALUMNI dinner

4) 21/2/2011 – Campus Election

5) 25/2/2011 – PERMAS dinner

6) 26/2/2011 – Fiesta Ranggoli

7) 5 & 6/2/2011 – KKM dinner

MADNESSSS I TELL YOUUU!

But anyways it doesn’t quite matter because for most of the events I’m going as guest , so which means DRESS UP –> ATTEND FUNCTION–> EATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT !!!! (sorry ! food is a passion ! lol ) –> SNAP SNAP PHOTO’s–> GO BACK and SLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEPPPPPPPP !!!! (another passion as well =p)

But this one particular event is the one driving me nuts ! which one ? MAJLIS MAKAN MALAM ALUMNI KOLEJ KERIS MAS ? why is that so ? because I’m the director of the dinner =.=” which technically means I am responsible for it. Sigh

Alright ! but that’s not the purpose of  today’s entry. My point is about being in an organization. Most students would certainly avoid being in a organization ( doesn’t matter what kind) with one LAME EXCUSE that I’ve been hearing from my school years. Honestly I think that’s just a way of escaping a responsibility of their shoulder. Ask a A-listers or first class students, they would’ve have certainly be involved in ATLEAST one activity/organization. Why ? That’s what completes a person. You can’t be sitting in room for days staring at books ,can you ? you’d in up in mental ward sooner than you should be =p

Being in an organization teaches an individual how to be a well-rounded person. What we get from books is only facts that can only be applied in certain areas. What the youth/ undergraduate’s are lacking is SOFT SKILLS ! which you cannot get from any book in the world ! It’ll only come to you through practice and practice and more practice. You can’t be OPRAH in a day ! Even she had to go through a hard before being a multi-millionaire now ! How ? Enrich yourself with soft skills. Don’t be afraid explore new things ! Life’s too short! Just give it a go, you’d never know it could be a success ! If it doesn’t ? take it as an experience. DO anything that you wish to do before it’s too late. I always tell my friends that i don’t wanna die before fulfilling my dreams. I want to do everything, try everything. Get a taste of everything. I want to die with no more wishes left 🙂 INSYA ALLAH.

Not only you gain soft skills, but also more friends and contacts, WHICH in important ( comes in handy when you are organizing a programme. TRUST ME ! I KNOW =p) especially if you’re in the marketing department where sponsorship is your core. These contact is where now you rely on to get some funds ! (smart eyh ? hehe)   Where did I learn this from ? being in a organization of course !  See how it comes in handy ?

Alrighteeeeee… It a quite a long entry ! Gotta go !  mission ?

UKM –> CENTRAL MARKET –> TAR ROAD –> PJ –> UKM ! phewwww !

p/s : Being in an organization is TIRING ! But it’s FUN =D

GE2153 ::: WEEK 5 ::: REFLECTION 4

Week 5 ———>> FIRST  CLASS !!!! 🙂 🙂

*** EXCITED !!!! *** ( of course minus the jumping & screaming part. LOL !)

Friday morning : Body Condition —- > Unwell 😦

Image

SICK ! SICK ! SICK

Sigh .. It was a class that I was anticipating,  well mainly because I HATE ! HATE ! missing the first class because usually important messages are delivered during the first lecture. Missing the first class makes me feel kinda ” lost ” . Of course we can ask our friends on what happened during the class but it wouldn’t be the same as ATTENDING it ! Some  informations might be missed !

Of course, missing the class was not made an excuse to not be updated with assignments and projects that I have to complete 🙂 After asking a couple of friends like a gazillion time ! ( because I couldn’t not understand what was to be done )  I found out that we had three projects to be completed :-

  • Project 001         —-> Creating a WORDPRESS blog !
  • Project 002       —–> Invidual Project !
  • Project 003       —–> Group Video !

We were asked to take photo’s at Taman Tasik Cempaka on aerobic session which was held on the 22nd January 2011 but unfortunately no one turned up ! Perhaps due a busy schedule . I couldn’t make it either because i had to go for a  # day camp at Nur Lembah Pangsun, Hulu Langat ! 🙂

As for for I am searching for a photo with a nice landscape to be used in on of my reflection. Hopefully I’d be able to find a suitable one 🙂

GE2153 ::: WEEK 4 ::: REFLECTION 3

Week 4 ! Wohooooo !!

As for this week the task is : Make a reflection based on pdf slides given by Dr Rosseni 🙂

Pengajaran dan Pembelajaran dari Rumah ?? Direct Translation ——>> Teaching and Learning from Home ???

After reading through the slides , how do I feel about it ?

Two word –     V.E.R.Y    U.S.E.F.U.L ( It’s like WordPress made simple !)

Well for a ” blur case ” type like me , the first reaction when I was told to create a blog was    ” Oh man ! nooooo ! ”  Oh ! and you must create a WordPress blog  and here’s comes the second AND most dramatic reaction ” Whaaaaaattt !! Whhyyyyyyy ???? Why WordPress ? Why not Blogspot ?? WordPress is so COMPLICATED ! “

Like I’ve said before, the slides sort of eased my nightmare on WordPress ! The step-by-step guide was very useful and I get to keep on track on the most basic things I must have in my blog such as categories , theme , making a new entry and also widget !

The slides also answered ( I’m pretty sure EVERYONE had the same question in their head) on why WordPress was chosen instead of the-ever-famous-so-called-cool-loved-by-everyone blogspot. One of the main reason is because wordpress is mainly used for professional purposes wherease blogspot’s are rather created for personal reasons. Nevertheless, there are professionals that use blogspot but most prefer wordpress as it is simpler and also due to it’s formality.

ImageImageImage

So WordPress or Blogspot ???  Well it’s up to individual. We can’t expect everyone to like the same thing can we ?

This is what I can conclude after reading the presention provided by Dr. Rosseni. Thank you Dr. it was a very useful slide 🙂

Here’s a video taken from You Tube on

” Why You Should Use WordPress As Your Blogging Platform”

p/s : This’s getting very addictive ! =p
