So, I've come to the conclusion that my son in obsessed. Seriously. He just can't get enough of these little green balls. He even turned down both chocolate and banana pudding in favor of these things. Great, right? Yep - for the most part it's nice that he's obsessed with such a cheap little snack that is: A) way healthy for him, and B) so easy to make for him (he likes them cold, out of the fridge, no prep needed...just keep some thawed frozen peas on hand each day and he eats them by the cup-full - he even gets them out of the fridge himself from his little snack area.), and C) so entertaining! I sit in the middle of the living room on the ground and put a pea in his mouth. Then I shout, "Run, run, run, run, run!" and he takes off around the coffee table and makes his loop back around the couch to where I'm sitting, gives me a big old hug and opens his mouth for another pea - repeat. He will do that for a good long time, giggling and thinking I'm just the best gosh-darn Mom around. Sometimes, to spice things up, I hide/change my sitting place and he has to come find me. That's about the extent of it. There's just one small problem. He's started wanting to feed ME the peas. I've come to cope with the fact that my hands continually smell like cold frozen peas. My pregnancy nose just doesn't let me come near my hands...but EAT them?! I'm just not sure I can choke that one down these days. Warm with a little bit of butter and salt - sure I can handle that, especially when I'm not pregnant. But cold? It's just not doing it for me. Some example of good eating I am. So I just hold them in my mouth until he's on his little lap again and spit them out. Overall though, I'm gonna take advantage of this obsession as a side for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and everything in between.
