Snips and snails and puppy-dogs' tails

That's what little BOYS are made of!!!

Yep...it's true...Kendall will be getting a baby brother! We are very excited to even up the team! Now a name...a name, the pressure of a name. We will be playing the name game over here for the next couple of months. We are up for any suggestions you may have. Here are some photos to help you in the process...

Random Pictures of the Week

I always have pictures on my camera that I take randomly throughout the week. I catch Kendall doing some pretty funny things, so I make sure my camera is on hand.

Kendall talking to Nana and Papa on the phone. She took the phone away from me and took off walking the other direction.
Image
I needed to organize our pantry and Kendall wanted to help. She was crawling around my feet and wanting me to pick her up. She always likes to be up high so she can see what is going on. I stuck her on the shelf in the pantry, so that I could get stuff done.

She was very proud of herself up there, helping out. Image

Last Saturday, Shane and I had a BBQ (2nd annual) at our house with about 9 other couples. We ate, hung out, chit chatted, laughed and played the Newlywed Game. We had a great time. In preparation for the evenings events, I was making a fruit tray. Again, Kendall was at my feet, not letting me get anything done, so I plopped her on the counter, and straight to the cantaloupe she went. She loves squishing things with her hands. Don't worry folks...I didn't use that half of the cantaloupe!

The other day, Kendall's little friend, Skye, came over. Kendall is so cute around babies. We bought her a baby doll the other day and she loves to give it hugs and kisses. We are learning how to be soft with the baby.
Image
I was cutting up mango yesterday and decided to give Kendall the pit to see what she would do with it...EAT IT, of course. She was holding on to that slippery sucker with all she had. She loved it!

This is Kendall's good morning look! I asked her to smile for the camera...and this is what she gave me...

"I'm gonna get you!"

Kendall's new favorite game is the cat and mouse chase. She will take off super fast, then turn around to see if you are behind her, and then take off again. She giggles the whole time and once you get her she laughs hysterically. It is super cute. Tonight, after I gave her a bath, I laid her down on the floor, turned my back to get her a diaper and off she went. She thinks she's funny! I tried to capture a glimpse of her new game on this video...click play! She is super fun baby to play with!

10 Months

Image Image

This month we went to an old train station in town and took her photos. I say "we" because my husband so graciously joins me and helps me out. He is such a great daddy and loves his little girl immensely. She has more personality in her little pinky than both of us combined. She is so lovable and so much fun to be around. She is learning and growing every day. It is a joy to watch her as she figures things out. We are so lucky to have her in our family.

At 10 months, Kendall:

  • has 4 teeth (2 top, 2 bottom)
  • stands independently
  • takes multiple (up to 15) steps without support
  • has learn how to get off furniture safely by going backwards
  • when asked where her "piggies" are, she grabs her toes
  • when asked where mommy's nose is, she grabs it
  • when asked to get the ball, she gets it
  • when asked where's the horsey, she points to it
  • uses gestures (ie. pointing) to communicate
  • says "mama-mama-mama" when she is hungry, tired, and/or wants me to pick her up
  • waves bye-bye or hello on command and on her own
  • blows kisses
  • gives high five
  • plays patty cake
  • pretends she is talking on the phone with almost every object she picks up
  • uses a lot of jargon, she thinks we can understand her
  • laughs all the time
  • eats and loves pretty much everything and anything
  • is very social with everyone
  • sleeps through the night and take 2 naps a day...finally!
  • is a total "ham"

Trip to L.A.

ROAD TRIP!!!

Tuesday- We left our house at 2pm headed on our 6 hour journey in the car to Woodland Hills, CA. Kendall did pretty well. She started out napping, then woke up and got a little fussy. I jumped in the back to entertain her with some dental floss that she could pull out, a big, fat, juicy nectarine, and a dum dum lollipop. (shh..don't tell!) About 3 hours into our journey, we filled up and switched drivers. Shane was now the entertainer for a couple hours until it was time for her 2nd nap. We almost made it all the way to my parents house until she had a melt down about 10 mins away. She about had it in her car seat. She was done and she wanted out! We made it and all was well!

Wednesday- We went to the mall with my dad to ride the merry-go-round. She loved it and did not want to get off. Later that day, the Lineberry's came up from Huntington Beach to hang out with us. We had a great time catching up. We went to a great Mexican restaurant called Sol y Luna, where we were serenaded by a great Latin singer and ate some of the best Mexican food around. We returned back to my parents house and played some Wii. Good Times!!! I'm bummed I didn't take any pictures. :(

Thursday- We headed out to the outlet mall in Camarillo with my parents and went to lunch at Wood Ranch BBQ. When we got home we went in the pool. Nana bought Kendall an itsy-bitsy-tiny-weeney bikini. She looked so cute with her belly hanging out. Kendall really loved the pool. She would lounge in her floaty and drift all over the pool all by herself.

Friday- Today, we hung out around the house and did lots more swimming! Papa gave Kendall a piece of watermelon while she was basking in the sun at her little resort! She thought that was pretty yummy!

Saturday- Shane, Kendall, and I went shopping while my parents took off to a catering job. We were really just killing time until our friends (the Eller's) came up for a visit. We had a blast. We hung out at the pool, ate, went ice blocking, ate, and went in the pool again! I was so glad they made the drive. We really enjoy their company. Endless laughs and great memories!

Sunday- Packed and headed out. The return drive was smooth. Shane drove the whole time...ahhh...how lucky am I?

Other random highlights- Kendall slept so well on her vacation. She would take 2 fairly decent naps and sleep at least 10 hours at night. Yeah! She also ate very well. She had eggs, fish, shrimp, steak, pasta, lentils and lots of fruit and veggies. Kendall loved her Papa. She would get in his arms and point to where ever she wanted to go and he would take her. It was hilarious! She also loved Nana's magnified mirror on her desk. Every time she looked in it, she would laugh hysterically. Kendall was feeling very independent and free. She loved to go anywhere she could. She even took lots of self-initiated steps all on her own. She's on her way to walking! Kendall also cut her 3rd tooth without any fussiness!

Kendall was all over Nana and Papa's house. She must have felt comfortable because she made herself right at home. She loved to pound/beat on the tv screen, turn on/off the tv, mess around with the home theater components, crawl upstairs and anywhere else she could. I had to put pillows up everywhere to keep her away...it didn't work!

Boating for FHE

Last night, we were invited to have FHE with the Sannar family in our ward. We went to the lake with dinner, a boat, a huge inner tube, wakeboard, and skiis. We all had a great time. We found a beach-type picnic area on the lake where we had dinner and played in the water. Kendall loved playing in the sand and going fast in the boat. She was a little unsure about the whole life vest thing. I don't have a picture to prove it, but a 4 month pregnant lady can wakeboard! It was a blast!

There is nothing else that compares to being on a boat on the lake. After growing up skiing almost every summer with my family, I definitely want to do the same for our family. I have some great childhood memories at Lake Havasu. A ski boat is definitely on the list of things to buy before I die!

Trail of Tissue

The other day, Kendall was playing with the tissue box. She started out in the family room, pulled out about a couple dozen tissues, Image
carried the box to the corner by the family room/kitchen, pulled out a dozen more,

Image

then, moved herself and the tissue box to the sliding class door, ripped out a few more,

Image

then relocated herself to the pantry where I found the little weasel AND her box of tissue!

Kendall's First Pet...Rocky!

Last week, I happen to come across this adorable little rocking horse on craigslist.com and couldn't pass it up. I knew Kendall would love it. When we first put her on it, she did not want to get off. She hasn't figured out how to rock the horse on her own, so she throws her head back and forth like she is actually riding the pony. She is so funny! We'll say "Go, horsey, go!" and she'll start jammin'. When she is not sitting on it, she'll take the horsey for a little walk and start pushing it around the house. Can't help but love her!

Help Yourself!

Yesterday afternoon, this is what I found when I came into the kitchen... Kendall was playing in the fridge and helped herself to a nectarine. She was going to town on it and was not very happy when we took it away from her. Look at those innocent eyes!

Photos recovered...

Thanks to photoshop, the pictures of Kendall crawling into the shower have been saved. I love photoshop!!! These photos were completely blacked out. I'm so glad they were fixable. Her expressions are the best. She cracks me up! That's a memory I won't forget!
