It’s been two weeks since I finished my study and back to work. I think that after 2.5 years leaving, this place would be better. But I guess I wrong.
I got three new bosses. The first one is the boss that is one level higher than me. Let’s call him A. My previous boss before A was rarely give an order to me. The type of boss that I’d call cannot work. Now, A sometimes gives order to me. But there’s something I don’t like from him. I’ve never given my work near the deadline unless it’s given to me in last minutes. In this way, I give him enough time to check my work and ask for revision. But I don’t know, somehow he just did not do that. Just last week he said my work is not right. And guess what.. He told me that just before the meeting was started and my work is used in that meeting. How could he??
The second boss is two level higher. I don’t know what to say since I’ve never like him to be a boss. my other colleagues said that he cannot don anything but sit in his cubical.
Here come my third boss, three level higher than me. Let’s call him C. I’ve never got any orders from him. There’s one memory that I’ll remember for sure. He saw me watching youtube during the work hour. Then he ask A whether or not he has given me a task. A, that know I know do not receive anyone blaming him, said that he’s given me a task. I answered that yes that’s true but I don’t have any tools to do that task. I don’t have computers. At the moment C ask his other staff to lend me a laptop to be able to work.
I’ll post later. Hopefully my other writing is not a complain.
I think being civil servant has killed all of creativity. I’ve seen this in my friends, my colleagues and even my boss I guess.
I’ve worked here for 4 years and 1 month. Even though during this period I spent more than half time to pursue my postgraduate (2 years and 8 months to have my degree conferred), I did not see any changes in this office. I’ve started to works for 5 days, and after observe my unit, I can conclude that all people still do the same tasks, still have the same routine, and even my unit still have the exactly similar activity. There’s nothing new here. Unless you count the new people and new computers.
Oh my God.
Seriously? We’re doing the same routine for four years (I don’t mind the period before I worked here). Can’t we do something new? Even all the tasks, have we ever evaluate the effectiveness of those tasks just to see whether these all beneficial for our country, for our people?
Have you heard this phrase: “Change or Die”. i just thing maybe some people have been dead. Not their body, but just their mind. We all lose our ability to create something new, to change something to be better. We all truly die as a thinker. Poor us.
So, I wanna change! Start from now if I can because this routine is killing me, literally.
