Baby Robins Arrived.
These little ones were in for a wild ride since their mother nested in our kids clubhouse. They did great despite the constant noise and chaos in the backyard!

Practical Jokes!
Friends of ours retaliated from our joke to them last winter (35 Christmas trees blocking their garage and front door) and this is what we woke up to one morning. I still think we won! ha ha haWendy

Reese decided that she was not as excited about roller skating as she thought... so she took off her skates and headed to the practice area. Ahhh - she felt much better!Wendy

Reese was way TOO busy looking at all the fun stuff... she had no intention of holding still for a picture. She begged and begged for a new Princess doll and was very specific that she wanted Belle!Wendy

Bluebird eggs in the bluebird box. We LOVE all the nests around our yard each year. There were three other nest.. but you couldn't see well enough to get pictures... black-capped chickadees, Carolina wren - who drilled a whole in our house for a next during the construction phase of the porch, and some finches in our chocolate vine arbor. It's All Fun and Games... Till Somebody Gets HURT!
It started out as a fun night... and the snow came!!! It's rare to get enough snow to build forts or snowmen with so the kids took full opportunity to build away. They trucked snow in from all over the yard!
The 5 gallon wheat buckets seem to work best for shaping the walls of the fort. Tate was adding a little reinforcements with the extra snow.

If I had gotten these in the right order... this shot would have been last! The next day the kids all went to an empty development that was going to be a Target. It's just a steep hill and dirt now so they thought it would be the perfect sled riding hill. Well... until Mark came home with some injuries. At first look, it seemed like a simple cut on the ear. A week later, we soon found out that Mark had a severe concussion! He tried to got out for a run and was gone about ten minutes before he came back and started vomiting. He had a HORRIBLE headache, vertigo, and could only lay flat on his back. Long story short... after a couple of trip to the ER and several Dr's appts. they finally found that he had a concussion. It was a LONG recovery, but he's was back to normal by summer... or as normal as Mark can be ;)
Tate taking on the hill... he was actually in the wreck with Mark... trains on sleds with lots of people is NOT a good idea. He was o.k. thankfully! Just a NASTY bruise on the face! Funny thing is... we took HIM to the Dr. to be checked for a concussion... NOT Mark!

COLD in FLORIDA??? Feb. 2010
It was SO COLD when we went to Florida in February that these people froze... literally! Well - maybe not, but when the temps are in the 30's in FL... it's HORRIBLE!
The trip to the beach consisted of as many layers as possible! Poor Reese was NOT happy about the adventure to find shells!
It didn't stop the boys though... the still managed to get REALLY sandy and WET!
The walk around the island to find the eagle's nests and see the osprey was a little cranky too! You can see how happy Reese was to have her brothers invading her space for the picture.
Not too many shells to find on this trip... TOO COLD! We even cancelled our trip to Disney due to the weather. We made it back later in the year to make up for it!Wendy
