Dear Holly: Back Again at Moonflower Farms

9 years, 10 months.

Dear Holly,

Despite it snowing here in Alabama this week, Spring is in the air. So this past Saturday, Mommy and I took you back to Moonflower Farms; just a short Jeep ride down the road from our house.

You and Mommy enjoyed being able to pick your own tulips again, just like we did last year. And apparently it is also tradition that when we go there, you get to also pick out a souvenir from one of the local vendors.

One of the vendors had a station where you could choose patches to put on a hat or a bag. So you now have a new mini-size travel bag for our many upcoming trips this year!

Dear Jack: Putting on Your New Tires and Rims

15 years, 4 months.

Dear Jack,

With your 16th birthday coming up this November, now is the time to get your Mazda Miata ready for the road. So you and Papa spent this past Saturday not only cleaning up your car, but also taking off the original tires and rims; replacing them with the new set you bought in Atlanta the weekend before, while we bought our new Jeep.

Oh, yeah… you still need to go take your Driver’s Permit, before you can even get your Driver’s License. That’s on the agenda for next week…

Dear Holly: We’re Gonna Need a Bigger Jeep

Well, your brother is basically the same size as Mommy and me now. As for you, you’re big enough to where you sit in the front seat any chance you get.

So it was time to size up from our 2 door Jeep, to a 4 door Jeep. I think everyone’s favorite part is that the top is an automatic convertible.

This is the right time for our family to enjoy our new toy. Sometimes you just have to choose fun over practical!

Dear Jack: Trading in the Old Jeep

15 years, 3 months.

Dear Jack,

For half of your life, my vehicle has been my 2 door 2010 Jeep Wrangler. But as of this past weekend, the time was right (and probably overdue) for me to trade it in for a newer, 4 door 2022 version instead.

Obviously, our family is so excited and appreciative to move up and upgrade. But I will say, there’s definitely a solid bit of sadness in saying goodbye to the old Jeep.

I wish I wasn’t so emotional about it. But there’s no denying, so many memories are attached to it. So I know it’s normal to feel this way.

Here’s to the new Jeep and to new memories to be made as a family. I mean, seriously… this new Jeep is pretty awesome. There’s just no way around it!

Dear Holly: The Newest Book Fair

Dear Holly,

You are always so excited when it’s time for the book fair at your school. Not only do you get to choose some new books to buy to support your school, but it’s also fun for you to see Mommy, Nonna, and Aunt Dana; who all volunteer there.

The only problem is that you read so fast! You read all of your new books over the weekend.

But that is a good problem to have!
