Assalamu’alaikum all!
Well hello guys! This is my second reflection which is we are required to review a Hindustan film. I’m sure that almost all of us are familiar with this film. This film named Taare Zameen Par. Taare Zameen Par isΒ about Ishaan Nandkishore Awasthi (Darsheel Safary) is an eight-year old boy who hates school and studies. He fails miserably in his tests and exams and just cannot get anything right in his class. Besides, he cannot even catch a ball from a distance. He is more interested in things like colors, fish, dogs and kites that are of least concern to adults. His parents keep taunting him about his inability rather than helping him. His parents decided to send him to the boarding school in context of getting disciplined. Ishaan feel fear and depression. He turn to be unhappy boy rather than before. The movie now takes a twist with the entry of new temporary art teacher Ram Shankar Nikumbh (Aamir Khan) at the boarding school.

Nikumbh Sir always attract his students while teaching. His technique of teaching students using thoughts, dreams and imaginations becomes successful with all students, except Ishaan. Nikumbh notices Ishaan is unhappy and decides to discover the reason. He reviews all past works of Ishaan and concludes all failures to be reflective of dyslexia. Nikumbh met Ishaan’s parents and informed them that Ishaan is a bright child different from other students in the class. Back in class, Nikumbh highlights the topic of dyslexia in class and mentions some famous people who were dyslexic, such as Albert Einstein, Leonardo Di Vinci, Walt Disney, Agatha Christie, Thomas Edison, Pablo Picasso and actor Abhishek Bachchan.
Nikumbh asked the permission of school principal (M.K. Raina) to sets a tutor for Ishaan. Using specific methods and techniques, Ishaan starts developing interest in language and mathematical skills. Ishaan always practices in reading, writing, and calculating with Nikumbh. Nikumbh tried to teach as slow as he can to make sure Ishaan can catch up the lesson.
Eventually, grades start to improve. An art fair is organized for students and teachers alike by Nikumbh at the end of the year. As expected, Ishaan wins the contest while his teacher, Nikumbh is declared the runner-up. Ishaan’s parents are surprised at the drastic improvement in their child’s grades and realize their shortcomings.
Moral Values.
Don’t Label The Child Using Bad Words.
Through this film, the teacher was labeling the student using bad words. The teacher labeled Ishaan as a shameless boy. The student like Ishaan need more our attention than his friends. This is because Ishaan wasn’t normal like the other. As a teacher, we must approach and guide this kind of students. They would not give their full attention to the class. They only want to play and never want to learn. The parents also plays the important role in this case. They shouldn’t blame the child of disobey the rules. The parents must give their full attention to the child. By sending Ishaan to the boarding school, we can see that the child turn to become a quite child, always look depressed and frightened. Besides, by labeling the students using the bad words, it will make ashamed the student. As a good teacher, we can’t label them using the bad words.
Help The Student To Become A Good Person.
Nobody in this film help Ishaan to become a better person. His father especially, always blame him on what he has done. Although that was not his mistake, his father didn’t believe him at all. Because of that, his father decided to send him to the boarding school to make sure he will be a discipline person later. The teachers at that school also never try to help him or to discover his problem. Fortunately, a new teacher, Nikumbh Sir helped him out from his problem. This kind of children really need our attention more than their friends. they could not recognize the alphabets and number in the correct way. Teacher must find the best way to teach them. Help them out from this problem. Find the best materials and tools to teach them. Our helping will build their self-confidence level to learn.
That’s all for today. Thanks a lot.If you have something to say, just drop the comment down below in the comment box.
