LEARNER DIVERSITY- Assignment 2-

Assalamu’alaikum all!

Well hello guys! This is my second reflection which is we are required to review a Hindustan film. I’m sure that almost all of us are familiar with this film. This film named Taare Zameen Par. Taare Zameen Par isΒ  about Ishaan Nandkishore Awasthi (Darsheel Safary) is an eight-year old boy who hates school and studies. He fails miserably in his tests and exams and just cannot get anything right in his class. Besides, he cannot even catch a ball from a distance. He is more interested in things like colors, fish, dogs and kites that are of least concern to adults. His parents keep taunting him about his inability rather than helping him. His parents decided to send him to the boarding school in context of getting disciplined. Ishaan feel fear and depression. He turn to be unhappy boy rather than before. The movie now takes a twist with the entry of new temporary art teacher Ram Shankar Nikumbh (Aamir Khan) at the boarding school.

Nikumbh Sir always attract his students while teaching. His technique of teaching students using thoughts, dreams and imaginations becomes successful with all students, except Ishaan. Nikumbh notices Ishaan is unhappy and decides to discover the reason. He reviews all past works of Ishaan and concludes all failures to be reflective of dyslexia. Nikumbh met Ishaan’s parents and informed them that Ishaan is a bright child different from other students in the class. Back in class, Nikumbh highlights the topic of dyslexia in class and mentions some famous people who were dyslexic, such as Albert Einstein, Leonardo Di Vinci, Walt Disney, Agatha Christie, Thomas Edison, Pablo Picasso and actor Abhishek Bachchan.

Ishaan is learning from his loving teacher, Nikumbh Sir.

Ishaan is learning everything from his loving teacher, Nikumbh Sir.

Nikumbh asked the permission of school principal (M.K. Raina) to sets a tutor for Ishaan. Using specific methods and techniques, Ishaan starts developing interest in language and mathematical skills. Ishaan always practices in reading, writing, and calculating with Nikumbh. Nikumbh tried to teach as slow as he can to make sure Ishaan can catch up the lesson.

Eventually, grades start to improve. An art fair is organized for students and teachers alike by Nikumbh at the end of the year. As expected, Ishaan wins the contest while his teacher, Nikumbh is declared the runner-up. Ishaan’s parents are surprised at the drastic improvement in their child’s grades and realize their shortcomings.

Moral Values.

Don’t Label The Child Using Bad Words.

Through this film, the teacher was labeling the student using bad words. The teacher labeled Ishaan as a shameless boy. The student like Ishaan need more our attention than his friends. This is because Ishaan wasn’t normal like the other. As a teacher, we must approach and guide this kind of students. They would not give their full attention to the class. They only want to play and never want to learn. The parents also plays the important role in this case. They shouldn’t blame the child of disobey the rules. The parents must give their full attention to the child. By sending Ishaan to the boarding school, we can see that the child turn to become a quite child, always look depressed and frightened. Besides, by labeling the students using the bad words, it will make ashamed the student. As a good teacher, we can’t label them using the bad words.

Help The Student To Become A Good Person.

Nobody in this film help Ishaan to become a better person. His father especially, always blame him on what he has done. Although that was not his mistake, his father didn’t believe him at all. Because of that, his father decided to send him to the boarding school to make sure he will be a discipline person later. The teachers at that school also never try to help him or to discover his problem. Fortunately, a new teacher, Nikumbh Sir helped him out from his problem. This kind of children really need our attention more than their friends. they could not recognize the alphabets and number in the correct way. Teacher must find the best way to teach them. Help them out from this problem. Find the best materials and tools to teach them. Our helping will build their self-confidence level to learn.

That’s all for today. Thanks a lot.If you have something to say, just drop the comment down below in the comment box.

Actually, we got assignment from Ummi. We need to watch a Malay drama series Juvana. Each of us has to take one of the episodes and list the moral values of that episode. Our awesome monitor, Imran, divided the episodes to all of us. He makes a name list and the the episode that we are required to analyze. I got the second episode. I watched the drama hundred times. I love the characters in that drama especially Botak (Johan Ashaari). I love the way they express their emotions and almost all the actors are handsome ! Lovely!Hihi

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT JUVANA THE SERIES.juvana

The story begins when Daim bin Yahya (Zahiril Adzim), an introverted teenager 17 years accused of killing his mother and her boyfriend. No effort to defend himself, the Court sentenced that he sent to the Reformatory School Wira Bakti (an NGO school) until he is old enough to be tried.

Daim horrific episodes began to be bullied by a group of students led by Botak (Johan As’ari). Mr. King (Bront Palarae), warden of no mercy queries just let the incident continue. School guard, Tony (Hariry) use the force to solve the problem only worsens the situation Daim. Mr Ariffin (Beto Kusyairy) and Mr Azmee (Irfan Roslan) also took steps over the fence and refused to intervene in the case of student fights.

Daim just have the hope of eternal when Ms Zakiah (Izreen Azminda), a figure of guidance and counseling teachers accepted an offer to teach at the School Wirabakti. Ms Zakiah excited by the offer and aspire to guide the students in the school juveniles. However, her work is not easily implemented because the students there mere thugs and do not want to learn. Warden Raja did not like the presence of Ms Zakiah because he needs more security guards, not the teacher. For Warden Raja, School Wirabakti just a prison for juvenile offenders and the only force able to control the boys. What happen next??? Don’t forget to watch this awesome drama to know the ending!

MORAL VALUES.

Stop Judging Other People

Based on the second episode of this drama, we should not judge people from the outside. Sometimes the person wasn’t guilt. The person maybe not on his mistakes. Many people despise and revile those who failed in life. It is better to approach and guide them. They need our support to build their confidence level to face the challenges in life. Not all people could accept them. Don’t treat them like that. This is because we don’t know what happen in our future life. Maybe our life become worse then theirs. We should stop ignoring those people. They really need our help, care, support and love to move in to the next steps. So, we must pray for them and also for ourselves. Hopefully our life become better than before.

Show Our Respect Toward Other People

In this episode, although Ms Zakiah is the only female teacher at that school, she never feel afraid. We should show some respect towards other people. In this case, the students didn’t accept the new teacher. They become rude and misbehaving in classroom. They also disobey the rules. One of her colleagues, Mr Ariffin seems like couldn’t accept her. He ignore her and try to let her down. He never believe that a female teacher could handle the students. As a colleague, we have to support our colleague and cooperate with each other to settle down the problems.

Help The Students To Build Their Spirit

As a teacher, we must help the students to build their spirit and confident especially the problem student. They need our motivation and care. Try to guide the students to solve their problem. Not all the students have a lovely family. We have to understand their problem. Try to approach the students. Show our concern to them. It will make the students feel secure and comfortable with us. So that they will never feel lonely. If I will be the teacher, I will try my best to be their friend. I want to feel their feeling. This will help us to help the to face the challenges in life. I want to be their “comfort zone” which means they can tell everything about their feeling and problems. I want to help than as much as I can.

That’s all for this time. Hope you will enjoy reading my bad writing. I have try my best to give the best. If you have any comment about my blog, just drop the comment down below in the comment box. I really appreciate it! Thank you! πŸ˜€
