Lake powell!

Well lets start off with the fact that I am so bored right now I could probably die! Taylor has my car and I am stuck sitting here in self pity listening to Fleetwood Mac on Pandora (it really is such a good station, reminds me of my dad every time!) So I figured I will just tell you about Lake Powell! Fair warning I am giving you my true feelings about this trip.

Well we headed out for our adventure Thursday night, drove till Torrey and stayed in the smallest little cabin ever! It was so darn cute and I loved every minute of it! There is not much else to say about it other than that. It was one small room, one small bed, a small night stand with a lamp, and a heater! Dont believe me? Then you can just see for yourself!

Look how cute and little it is!

Friday Morning we ate at a small cafe and we were on our way! We got to the boat, found the perfect spot, tied up the anchors, and then for the next 7 days just relaxed! and by relax I mean I just hung out off on the side most of the time so I didn't get in anyone's way, tried to avoid all the sexual comments aimed at Taylor and I, and was constantly wiping sweat from my  nose, knee pits, and pretty much anywhere sweat gathers. On a brighter note I did get tan.

Don't get me wrong, there were some fun moments, like trying to catch the mouse that creeped onto our boat! I haven't laughed that hard in a long time! The kids all sat and watched the mouse creep up on our mouse trap grab our cheese and scurry off! What the heck! After about an hour of trying to catch that little bugger it scampered to the end of the hall and disappeared and we were all freaked out to walk down the hall which ultimately led to our beds. I also enjoyed the tubing! My elbows were destroyed! After about the 3rd time on the tube my elbows were raw and I had to retire. Major Bummer! I am a little chicken and only like to wakeboard or ski when my dad is pulling me. I just get embarrassed and plus my dad is the most patient person ever and I can fall a billion times and he doesn't get annoyed with me! Granted they did tell me Bruce would be patient, but I was not willing to take that chance! So I just watched my cute hubby ski! He is really good! not to mention super sexy doing it! I may have flashed him while he was skiing once, HA!

Oh how I love this cute guy SO much!

I hate cliff jumping. enough said!

That's hot!

Maybe I am just used to it being Taylor and I, so I have little to no patience with other poeple, but I was so happy to be home! I seriously wanted to kiss our front door when we reached it! It was like a sigh of relief! I am also loving having it back to just us! No one bossing us around or making me feel uncomfortable! I guess I am not as anxious to get back to Northern Utah as I thought! Good thing we still have 2 years down here!

K! Now I will quit complaining and this will be quick! My mom and Dad were down here this weekend and I talked my mom into a craft night! We made these cute wreathes and made sugar cookies! We got the idea from Pinterest which I love with all of my heart!

So cute huh?

Livin on summer!

Can I get a Hallelujah please?! SCHOOL IS OUT!!

So far my summer has been wonderful!! We spent the first few days up in the BC where we enjoyed our families and got to escape the heat for a few days! It was a packed weekend and not once did I get to sleep in so that was a major bummer but its ok! We headed up to Brigham around 9:30 pm when Taylor got off work on thursday night, got to BC around 3 am, had to be out at my dads work to do hours for my scholarship at 7, eye doctors appt at 10, CRASH and sleep for 3 hours, dinner and baseball games. PHEW! See what I mean? no down time (minus that 3 hour nap :)) and that is only day one!!
Day 2- Back to the eye doctor at 8 to have him check to make sure the contacts were sitting on my eyes correctly (they were), then family pictures, then a family reunion with Taylor's family (neither of us knew anyone there really) but it was still fun, about an  hour into it we found Taylor's mom watching Keeping up with the Kardashians, So we joined her (I am obsessed with the Kardashians now days) so the family reunion was an all day event of course, then finally at like 7 I said I was so bored I could literally die so Taylor took me to dinner and to see Madagascar 3, it was pretty good but I still love the first one the most. PHEW, once again NON STOP!!
Day 3- Church starts at 9 (kill me), then we had to be in Salt Lake by 11 so Taylor and My dad could stand in the circle while Kenny was set apart, hang out all day in the SLC with the fam (loved it) got home around 8, and honestly couldnt tell you what happened the rest of that night, I probably slept.... HA.
Day 4- leave BC around 8 so Taylor can be at work by 3.
(sorry no pictures)
All in all crazy weekend, but loved it!

K now onto GIRLS CAMP!!
I know you are probably thinking I am a little too old for girls camp, but this girl is the newest
Laurels Adviser for the St. George 7th ward.
I have been in with the girls for about 3 months now and have loved every minute of it! The girls are so sweet and constantly make me laugh. Girls camp was so awesome! It was so up on Cedar Mountain at Little Thunder and we literally slept in like a box car or a storage container. I don't know what it was but they have the beds stacked 3 high and I was of course on the tippy top and literally thought I was going to roll to my death every night. luckily I didn't. Let me tell you about some of my favorite things
1- The girls getting to know me and seeing my crazy dancing, always laughing side and no longer being sacred of me! THE BEST!
2- Writing down what I could give up in my life that would bring me closer to my heavenly father and letting it go in a balloon. Adios!
3-Solo time: just an hour to be by yourself out in the mountains to pray and ponder and just feel the spirit. I wrote Taylor who I missed SO much a letter with my testimony in it.
4- The three champ cheer, let me teach you! clap-clap WOO clap-clap WOO clap-clap WOO
easy enought? Now you give it a shot, its lots of fun and can lift you up even in your darkest moments.
(I crack myself up)
5-OK lets be honest I loved everything about it and could write for days and days about how great it was!

getting ready to let go of the balloons! (goodbye selfishness and contention)
Jump to the 25th of June and that brings us to Aladdin out at Tuacahn! Loved it! Taylor got 2 free tickets from work so of course I was the only date he could get ;) There were a lot of songs I didn't know but still enjoyed it. Then on Tuesday I got blind sided by the flu! Let me start off with the fact that I literally never get sick! After a nice long nap I woke up and felt horrible.I then spent the next 3 days in the nearest bathroom to me! Ask me any detail about my bathroom or the bathroom at work and I can tell ya ALL about it! Miserable! Thursday night (still sick and wearing basketball shorts) we went to Tuacahn once again, this time to see Hairspray. I don't know if it was because I was sick or because I didn't know the songs but I hated every minute of it. I was ready to leave by about "Good morning Baltimore!"
This is pretty much all I have to say about it: BOOO!!

Image

Image
Rockin basketball shorts at Tuacahn and yes we did got LOTS of dirty looks! How dare we show up dress liked that?! At least I didn't throw up, because that is what  I felt like doing the whole time!

Image
dear creeper in the back, thank you for ruining our picture, yours truly! also note that I look pretty darn good for how bad I felt!
And the very best part of the summer is in T minus 1 week from today!
LAKE POWELL!
we leave on Thursday and are going to stay in Torrey (people often spell my name this way) in a little cabin and then drive the rest of the way Friday morning!
Fun Fact: last year on the way to Lake Powell is when Taylor and I decided we did in fact want to get married and chose our date. Precious!

We are having a busy summer but are loving every minute of it! We wouldn't want it any other way!
Sorry for such a long post, I am horrible at posting so when I finally do its way too long! So if you made it to here, congrats to you and imagine me giving you the most enthusiastic 3 champ cheer you ever did hear!
also enjoy that rhyme! :)

Still can't believe it

There are so many things in my life right now that boggle my mind!
First off I am in the dental hygiene program and working on patients!
It freaks me out like you would not believe!
I have to work on complete strangers because I have no family down here to work on.
good thing St. George is full of retired people that have nothing better to do!
(side note speaking of old people, literally 90% of the people in my ward are over the age of 85! I wish you could all see the cute lady who leads the music in Relief Society! She knows the words to literally every hymn and gets up there with her arms just a waving and sings with so much enthusiasm! its cute)

anywho back to school....
So while it is stressful as it is, we have to find patients that meet certain requirements! WTF?!
how the heck am I supposed to find these people?
But wanna know a secret?
good!
My mom is so sweet and is taking off pretty much a whole week of work just to come down and be my patient! I AM SO EXCITED! I don't think she realizes what she got herself into, but its too late now for her to back out because she has agreed to it and I would freak out if she bailed!

Next Item of business that boggles my mind
I'm married!
Wait? What? Married?
exactly the thoughts that run through my head still! granted its only been like a month and a half! But I love it! I love cuddling up to him every night and putting my freezing cold toes all wrapped up in his legs so he can warm them up! I love that as soon as my alarm goes off in the morning he gives me a kiss and rolls right back over and zonks out. I love! love! LOVE not saying goodbye at night! I even convinced him to get gym passes with me and some mornings we get up way earlier than either of us wanna be and go work out before class! He taught me to play Nazi zombies, which by the way is super fun and very addicting! Pretty much what I am getting at is that I am still head over heels in love and can't get enough of him!
Here are a few pics from out wedding day!

2 weeks

and I'll be waking up as Mrs. Evans!

I ask Taylor all the time "when we held hands back in 8th grade did you ever think we would be getting married?" or "when you saw me for the first time when you got off your mission did you think you would marry me?"

Clearly I am in shock that I am so lucky to be marrying such an amazing person! I can't even begin to tell you how excited I am to not say goodbye every night! I also won't have to wait till 11 o'clock every night to see him! I'll get him first thing when I wake up, morning breath and all! I can't believe after 8 years I am finally getting what every little girl dreams of, My Happily ever after!

Image
Taylor is so cute and I know he reads my blog, so babe I love you!! I can't wait to be sealed to you for time and all eternity! Thank you for putting up with me when I am the crazy fiance just crying over nothing. Thank you for holding onto me tight when I try to get away. Thank you for the cute notes I find in random places. Thank you for being willing to do anything for me! Thank you for bringing me lunch! Thank you for being my patient in clinic! Thank you for all the laughter you bring into my life! Thank you for making me a better person! Thank you for the great example you are. Thank you for giving me a chance when you got home!
I am the luckiest girl in the world!

xoxo, Toree

Random this and thats

Well Taylor had to go to bed SUPER early to get up at 4:30 in the freakin AM! Miserable!
which leaves me with nothing to do for an hour or so... so I will jot down a few things on my mind..
~Well it turns out my camera is deader than a door nail and my charger has been misplaced, so that's not great!
~School is going well, studying takes up 90% of the time.. The other 10% is split between sleeping (probably the majority) eating, and spening time with Taylor. I feel bad for Taylor, I am such a nerdy pants and he is porbably wondering what he got himself into.. 2 years is all babe..
~ Speaking of Taylor, he is the best! He is so sweet and pretty darn good lookin! I am one lucky gal I tell ya. He puts up with a lot from me, and still loves me!
~ Got 100% on my first two test in the dental hygiene program! I bomb my quizzes in histology/embryology each week though. I hate, hate, double hate, ENTIRELY LOATH learning about cells! It is so stupid and puts me to sleep. I hated learning about them the first time and I STILL hate learning about them now. There is clearly a reason I pushed that mumbo jumbo outta my brain in the first place, its BORING! Also concerning tests and quizzes, I have three tests next week, and 3 quizzes.. BOOOOO SCHOOL!!!
~Next fun fact, the temple has been booked! December 17, 2011 St. George temple, I become Mrs. Evans, finally!
~The "rents" are coming down this weekend. I love when Ma and Pa come to visit...a good time is always had. Not to mention I had a small freak out last weekend because I was homesick. So I am happy they are coming.
~Today I did baptisms for the dead. Go ahead and ask me how many times I was baptized.. ok.. "Hey Toree, how many times were you baptized?"
Oh funny you should ask that.. 60!! apparently not very many people went today.. I was told I made 60 new friends! not to mention the 20 or so confirmations I did. so NBD, I made me a whole buncha friends today!
~Saw The Help... Loved it...
~Quick question.. How Do you get the banners at the top of your blog with pictures in them? they are so cute, but I am not the best on a computer.. is it hard?

Ok well that is all the fun facts I will bore you with today.. I will show you a few pictures of recent happenings thought....

A little late....But this is how it happened

Well as most of you know
I'M ENGAGED!!
ImageSeriously I couldn't be happier!
I have waited A LONG TIME FOR THIS!!
and finally I can marry my best friend!
So here is the story of how he asked me.....fair warning its kinda long....
Well to start off let me give you a little back ground info.....
Way back in the 8th grade we went to classic skating with our ward for YM and YW. That's where we first held hands and the next day he "asked me out." hahaha!
So on Friday night he text me and said wanna go on a date with someone. I was a little confused and text back and said If that someone is you than yes. All he said was luckily for you, it is me. He then proceeded to tell me that we were going to wingers for dinner but be ready at 2 for our date...So Saturday rolls around and he went to ER because there was something wrong with his foot. so he finally comes and picks me up and we head to Ogden. There was one rule givin "no asking questions" So we go to Ogden and he just looks really confused and I ask him what he is looking for.. "no questions!" So I sit back and watch him panic. He then tells me well classic skating used to be here, but now its not. But he made me tell him why it was significant, and I gave a smart answer like "its where you first knew you loved me" haha. As of right now he is kinda starting to panic and I am laughing really really hard.
"plan 2" he tells me. We head to Nickel Cade, I guess we went there before he left on his mission..I don't really recall this but hey it was fun/funny and I wont complain. After we have spent all our nickels we take our tickets and all I wanted was candy with them of course. So he got some silly glasses and I got tootsie rolls. **side note he kept calling/texting his mom so I kinda knew something was up.**
We are now headed home and we are driving up 1100 south and he says do you need to use the bathroom? haha...no.... But he apparently does. Remember we were supposed to go to wingers for dinner? But he pulls of into Chevron to use the bathroom.. aka go call his mom...so the adventure continues, and we head up the canyon.
"I thought we were going to Wingers"
"No questions"..pause.... "I didn't tell you which Wingers"
Then I'm annoyed because I was hungry and there was a perfectly good Wingers a mile back but whatever. We head up the canyon and he pulls off in Mantua then into the campground. He looks even more confused now than he did in Ogden so I crack a joke like "are ya still looking for Classic Skating?" funny right? He didnt think so...so he stops and I was pretty sure I just saw his dad drive away, but didnt say anything. We get out and there was a chinese food candle light dinner set up for us! YUM!! Once dinner was over I was kinda getting nervous for some reason. I was pretty sure he was asking me and I dunno I just had butterflies.
**side note, For prom our Junior year he asked me with fortune cookies**
So he opens his fortune cookie and then hands me mine...I open it "Will you marry me"
So I turned and looked at him and he was down on one knee and asked me and I said
"OF COURSE!!!!"
He is so darn cute I can barely stand it! I am the luckiest girl in the world I tell ya!
We are getting married December 17th in the St. George Temple! We are both SO excited about that. We talked about getting married there all the time our first year of college but then I was nervous about how hard it would be for everyone to get down here. OH WELL! We are doing it and I am beyond ecstatic!
Image
My ring is beautiful! I love it!

Imagehe is so relieved it was over! He was so nervous, like I was gonna say no or something

I can't wait for all the adventures we will have babe! I love you so much and you mean the world to me!

Guess who is home?!

Taylor!! <3
I was beyond nervous for him to get home!! Not to mention he was 45 minutes late to meet me! I almost left but his mom called and told me he was on his way. When he pulled up I panicked and just screamed while my dad sat and laughed at me! "Who is answering the door?!" "What do I do?!" "I dunno what to do!" Those are the types of things I was screaming and he told me to go to the back porch and sit with the dog :) SO....I did.
He answered the door in a very calm and collected way I am sure, then I heard the door open and my heart stopped! By this point I have stressed myself out to the point of being sick. Well I actually managed to do that for about two weeks straight till he got home. But it was fine! Taylor gave me the biggest hug ever and I was in heaven!!
He were pretty much connected at the hip the whole weekend and everything was wonderful! We went hiking, to a party at Kate's, boating, a drive in, and guess what? I even sat by him at church! And you can bet your bottom dollar rumors were flying by the time church was over!
Unfortunately I had to drive back to St. George that Sunday and it was slightly miserable knowing he was in BC still with no phone and we didn't have much of a way to communicate.
Image

Image
BUT! I drove back up Thursday and spent all weekend with him again. This weekend was not quite as eventful but still great! I loved every minute of being with him! We did go to temple square and Cafe rio! One thing I do know, my body is not used to the late nights that's for sure! 10:30 would roll around and I was ready to sleep! He did have some good chats in the hammock. (spelling) Everytime we would sit in it I would laugh hysterically because I just kept imagining it breaking and us falling SO hard to the ground. I haven't laughed that hard in awhile! He didn't find in near as funny as I did, oh well, it was! Don't let him tell you differently!
Image
He gave his homecoming talk Sunday and did so good! I was very impressed! It was also great to see some of his family I haven't seen for awhile. He is seriously so amazing and I love spending time with him! Then of course I had to drive back to St. George :( it was harder than the first time to leave. I just keep telling myself I made it two years without him, whats a week right?!
Image
The good news is that he will be here on Friday with my family for the 4th of July and then We leave for Lake Powell Tuesday. This is gonna be a test to see of we can really handle each other for eternity ;) We are both slightly nervous to be with each other for 11 straight days. I will have to let you know how it goes!
