For years I struggled with my memories of that hateful scumbag Kearney who was involved with my mother in ways that it is hard to find a polite vocabulary for.
She was a poor Catholic Widow which -in the perverted minds of Catholics – meant she was sexually available. Don’t ask me to explain the logic or payment system here – and why it’s okay to have an adulterous relationship ‘in-house’ with Catholic women but not with Protestant women.
Catholics today will, of course, deny this ever happened, as they prefer to live in a Disney- Ladybird book world of fiction. But it was the reality. And the majority of men that I remember – around six ‘clients’ at least -tried to do the Stepdad routine to ‘sort me out’.
My mother actually had more clients. But I was sent down to the Ipswich Bowling Alley in London Road while she was ‘entertaining’ them so I don’t remember them.
Of these ‘step-dads’, Kearney was the last and the worst. You can understand why I hate his memory with such venom. He was always a bully at school. Imagine what he was like outside!
I struggled with the excuse that he gave us for his presence which makes no sense. Namely: That his wife was ill or dying and therefore what he was doing was ‘okay’ and ‘permitted’ by the Church.
It left an indelible mark on my mind (I even sent away to Ancestry for Kearney’s marriage certificate and searched for a possible death certificate of his wife ) And so I kept quiet about it on this blog for several years because it seemed too crazy for anyone to believe.
In fact, another of my mother’s Catholic ‘clients’ actually did have a wife who was dying and I remember her tragic demise so well. I’d see her fading away in Church every Sunday, poor woman. I can still feel her pain and sadness. Her husband used the same excuse as Kearney for visiting my mother. So it was okay for my mother to be involved with him. Apparently. Rather than focussing on grieving for his dying wife or looking after his two motherless sons.
I thought, for a time, that maybe I had conflated the two men and their excuses, but my memory fiercely insists that Kearney’s excuse was separate. There was no conflation.
Perhaps in the twisted logic of the Catholic Church it’s okay for men’s needs to be ‘fulfilled’ by another woman if their wife is dying, but not if – for example – ‘my wife doesn’t understand me’.
Women’s needs, of course, don’t count in the Catholic Church.
Anyway, I’m most grateful to a St J’s Old Boy who wrote to me just the other day:
Dear Pat,
I was thinking about the post from a little while ago when you mentioned that Kearney said his wife was an invalid or very ill. Just to validate this comment, I remember hearing this also. No idea where it came from it was clearly rubbish.
Thank you! So it seems like a ‘thing’ in the Catholic Church.
Today, people criticise Sharia Law and other examples of extreme religions. We forget that Catholics are not that different as this and other past illustrations I’ve described show. They just hide it better.
I inherited some money after I’d left home at sixteen and escaped this Catholic madhouse. It was given to me my Uncle who was concerned at the sexual abuse I was subjected to, but ‘didn’t want to get involved’. I’ve previously related Kearney’s use of chloroform to rape me. I guess women, boys, it’s all the same to an abuser like Kearney because it’s about power.
So I paid three mates of mine and together we waited for Kearney by the Ipswich docks one night. Don’t ask me what he was doing down there – you can guess.
We beat the shit out of him and it was money well spent. He deserved it. And more. It was the best therapy imaginable. My only caveat is my memory won’t give me the details, dammit! Like – did I punch or kick him in the face? Did he bleed much? Did he scream much? It’s a blank. So I can’t gloat over the details which I would really love to do. It would be worth some EMDR to go back in time and relive that wonderful moment of vengeance. That evil man finally got what he deserved.
Anyway, I’m sure Kearney is screaming in Hell now.
By the end of this month, the RLSS Board should have reached their decision about what to do re the scandal of the De La Salles which I have been reporting on these last few months.
The scandal includes the De La Salles current behaviour towards me which was described by two female RLSS Safeguarding officers – see my previous blog- in their correspondence with me as follows:
7TH JANUARY FROM MELISSA , CEO OF THE RLSS
I am beginning to feel deeply frustrated by my inability to secure resolution, and I know Bev’s frustration is equally intense. I cannot begin to comprehend how you continue to cope with this behaviour; it feels beyond cruel.
13 JANUARY 2026 FROM BEVERLEY RLSS
Just a very brief update on today’s events.
I had an 8.30 meeting this morning not just with Fr David but joined by Sr Ellen and Fr Christopher of the RLSS Board. As would be expected, I delivered what had been happened re- DLSS to date. How the DLS refused to meet with you online but wanted to meet with you in Spain with me in attendance and then shutters down – absolute silence. I was vocal about how cruel this was as you had written a statement of experience about the CSA and aftermath of Br JR. How the Safeguarding advice given by me was ignored by Br Ben H and John B, You know the narrative more than I as you live and feel it. The plan – was and still is – Fr David is going to go ahead and see what the issue is. I said it was nothing short of cruel in how you have been mistreated. They were left in no doubt that you were not the only person and I did name X and how he has also been mistreated.
These two women have now resigned from the RLSS, after the DLS, in their arrogance, refused to have any contact with the RLSS because they dared to criticise them!
So the RLSS desperately need to find an off-ramp to calm things down. Their solution is for matters to be decided by men and priests, even though, as I will show, I fear that’s actually going to make it far worse.
Beverley, the RLSS female safeguarding officer, before she left, asked for minutes to be taken of that meeting between the DLS and the RLSS and made public. I doubt that will happen.
On the De La Salle side, the issue will be decided by its Head BEN and by its Safeguarding Officer JOHN who have provably enabled and covered up endless crimes of child sexual abuse including organized systemic abuse, sometimes lying or contradicting themselves. And have ignored my own testimony which they initially requested.
On the RLSS side it will be decided by Father David Smolira, a Jesuit priest and Father Christopher, a Canon Lawyer I have previously interviewed on line, a Sister Ellen, and perhaps other members of the RLSS board.
But at no point are the RLSS Board involving or in consultation with the injured party, myself!
Then a decision will be handed down to me by them and if I complain about it, it may be referred to the CSSA and lost in the weeds for another six months.
My own prediction on the outcome? Yet another meaningless apology from the RLSS perhaps, but no attempt to publicly admonish or disengage from its paymaster the De La Salles.
Deferring to the DLS in these circumstances would mean the RLSS would be publicly enabling and endorsing the endless crimes of the DLS against children .
Of course I could be wrong. There could be a positive outcome which I would be the first to approve of.
But let’s take a look at the two principal RLSS characters who will determine the outcome.
There’s Father Christopher, Theologian and member of the RLSS Board. In my lengthy video interview with him about Canon Law, he failed to answer numerous crucial questions from myself and other Survivors present. In response to some six Survivors accounts of their childhood abuse, his stony and indifferent response to all of them was endlessly repeated ‘Well that’s not my experience.’
But of course it wouldn’t be! He’s a prominent Catholic priest and we are Survivors abused by Catholic priests and other clerics. He’d been so obviously briefed or media-trained to keep repeating, parrot-like, ‘Well that’s not my experience’ as his defence.
And then there’s Fr David Smolira SJ – Non-executive Director
David is a Religious of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits). He was the provincial of the Order for 10 years. David is a trained Social Worker and Psychotherapist and has worked in safeguarding for more than 30 years.
He was presumably selected as a ‘voice of conciliation’ who could make the DLS see reason after their rejection of the two RLSS female members.
However, this worrying account about him was brought to my attention by a Survivor this morning.
Cherwell Investigations, an Oxford University Student Newspaper in January this year carries a report of Father David Smolira adjudicating in a Jesuit sexual abuse case.
From this account, Father David Smolira appears to be in favour of the alleged Jesuit sexual abuser.
To quote from the newspaper report.
The Senior Chaplain at the Oxford University Catholic Chaplaincy (OUCC), Father Damian Howard, was asked to step down last August after a student made a complaint of sexual abuse against him. A Cherwell investigation has subsequently revealed that Jesuits in Britain, the organisation which appoints the Senior Catholic Chaplain at the OUCC, substantially misrepresented the nature of the complaint made by the student.
The report was submitted to Father David Smolira SJ, who is currently the Provincial Delegate for Ignatian Formation, responsible for overseeing the spirituality work of Jesuits in Britain.
In an email sent last October, Smolira wrote to the student that he and Ashby-Ellis had agreed that there was no evidence of “grooming” in the student’s relationship with Howard. He implied that the student had recognised that the “possessive” phase of his and Howard’s relationship had lasted a few weeks, following which the student had reported his allegation of abuse.
However, in the official report that the student sent to Smolira in August, he reported possessive behaviour by Howard from as far back as Trinity term 2024.
Whatever the truth, I found the report and the role of Smolira disturbing.
Both these priests appear to be in favour of rejecting complaints against the Church – clear examples of Clericalism, specifically the mantra I grew up with as a child, ‘That the Church must always come first and be protected at all costs.’ Even lying, ‘mental reservation’, is allowed for such priests for this covert reason.
But there’s another factor that the RLSS Board must take into account before reaching their decision.
As a child, I was indentured into the Catholic Church from the age of six to sixteen, then I left home and escaped them. This explains why I am such a fierce critic of the Church today. I owe it to that child.
As an altar boy, I knew five priests during this time. All five priests sexually abused me. It was the norm when a child only had a single, vulnerable parent to protect them. That was my situation
The priest abusers were Canon Burrows, Father Wace, Father Jolly, Father Gonnet and the Diocese Bishop.I could relate their crimes in graphic and provable detail if required. It was penetrative sexual abuse.
Of course I will be told that today’s priests are different and are fine upstanding men who would never abuse a child.
I certainly hope so, although I think I can be forgiven for having some doubts, given my boyhood.
But the fact remains my legitimate complaint will ultimately be decided by two priests, even though I was abused by five priests!
For the complaints of a Survivor of Priests to be judged by Priests is clearly WRONG.
The stupidity that it should even be considered is mind-boggling.
It is not going to look good in any subsequent complaints procedure or media article I initiate. In those circumstances, even the CSSA will struggle to uphold the RLSS medieval decision.
But there is an alternative solution.
THAT SOLUTION IS CONSULTATION, DISCUSSION AND AGREEMENT WITH THE SURVIVOR – MYSELF – AND AN INDEPENDENT VOiCE to reach a valid conclusion.
Genuinely independent. Not Board members or staff members of the RLSS because their financial livelihood would be in danger if they disagree with the Board.
Otherwise this ‘Spanish Inquisition’ decision by the RLSS will be mocked by everyone who is told about it.
My Solution could save the RLSS months of future complaints, bad publicity, and other action I will most certainly take against them.
I’m sure an Independent voice can be found. There’s already a Catholic Safeguarding procedure in place that should be acceptable to all and I’ll pass on an example of an experienced, well-regarded Independent Voice to the RLSS.
That Independent Voice as well as the relevant Board Members need to consult, discuss and LISTEN TO THE SURVIVOR – as recommended in the Elliot Report.
Currently, the RLSS is infantalising and disempowering me through ‘Savourism’ by RLSS Safeguarding Officers and Clericalism by the priests on the RLSS board. Clericalism is an “elitist mindset” and structure that assumes clergy (bishops and priests) are inherently superior to the laity, which can lead to overbearing, privileged behavior.
This has all triggered a very painful and traumatic six months for me. It began when the RLSS opened Pandora’s Box. Not a decision I chose – I wanted to use my old abuse testimonies, rather than relive them. But I was firmly over-ruled by the RLSS. They had to be upgraded.
Maggie Oliver, a former detective turned whistleblower, puts it very well and her words show clearly how the RLSS is at fault, leading up to our current problem
It comes after the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse (IICSA), which concluded in 2022, recommended 20 major reforms to protect children in England and Wales.
If there had been meaningful action, I’d have been fine. Instead it was a disaster.
It cost me a fortune in emergency counselling after I’ve had a break from such therapy for many years. I really thought I had put all those years of Catholic child abuse behind me.
Today I now have two sessions a week, often three, to cope with the very raw PTSD emotions of De La Salle and other Catholic child abusers that have been unleashed once again. But the RLSS had no follow through, as Maggie recommended, once they had opened the Box. Only their understandable anger against the DLS for their cruelty and a sense of their helplessness in the face of the DLS overwhelming power.
So I was retraumatised all over again by the very organisation that’s meant to help Survivors deal with trauma!
If the RLSS had publicly condemned the DLS, that would have helped – it would have been supportive and healing. Instead, it very much looks like the RLSS is going to back-pedal. See Melissa’s comment below. You can see that’s her fear, so I’m not alone in my concerns.
But there is a solution. Consult with the Survivor FIRST before your decision is reached and ensure there are Independent voices involved SUPPORTING that decision.
As Melissa now ex-CEO of the RLSS put it:
The question Bev and I continue to grapple with is where we go when all available routes have been exhausted without success. Our next steps must lead to genuine forward movement, not further backpedalling.
But there is an available route out of this However, if I cannot be consulted and if all else fails, then the RLSS must sever the connection or publicly admonish the De La Salles for their ‘beyond cruel’ behaviour.
The respect the RLSS will then receive from Survivors for finally being truthful will far outweigh any financial loss they may incur from the DLS fees being withdrawn.
I’ve previously written about Brother James Ryan. I related his sexual abuse of me and other pupils of St Joseph’s De La Salle College, Ipswich.
And I’ve related how I have on my blog the testimonies of a hundred child victims of physical and sexual abuse nationwide at the hands of the De La Salles Many of these cases indicate organised, systemic abuse – in short the DLS were part of a paedophile ring as at least one testimony makes very clear.
We have only their word for it that the DLS have stopped abusing children. I certainly know – from a Survivor’s detailed testimony sent to me – that one DLS brother who is still alive today was sexually abusing boys in the 1990s.
How – after initially encouraging me to provide them with my Statement of Experience, the De La Salles then cut me off without comment. Then, as you will see below, they eventually also cut off the RLSS Catholic Safeguarding because two female officers dared to reprimand these ‘holy men.’
I’ve highlighted just the salient features of my correspondence between Beverley, Melissa and myself so you can follow the narrative.
21 OCTOBER 2025 FROM BEVERLEY RLSS
I wanted to update you about DLS. I have not had any information back about the response to your Statement of Experience and the independent investigation but as you know this will have to go through the DLS Council. This will not go off my radar and if I don’t hear from them by the middle of next week, I will be recontacting them.
I hope you know you have our support in your mission for truth, justice and the protection of children.
I will be back in contact with you soon.
29TH OCTOBER FROM ME TO BEVERLEY
Thanks so much for the update. I’m happy to wait and see is there’s any news post 7th November (DLS meeting).
I’m glad you also brought up the faux DLS investigation referenced by Barry Hudd (past DLS Safeguarding officer)when he said (to the media):
“We’ve also hired our own independent and experienced child abuse investigator to assist the police.”
I guess the DLS apologising to Survivors that they lied to would be too difficult for these holy men of God.
Incidentally, I sent Barry Hudd all the DLS Abuser issues, including Brother James. He never replied.
The same was true for John Biggins, his replacement, when I wrote to him on 3rd June 2025. Even though he states (on his De La Salle website)
‘We will be open, transparent and accountable.’
Given past acknowledgements of child abuse crimes, it’s no good Biggins dismissing it now with a curt – ‘go to the police’. He’s ignoring past history and promises (see above) made by the DLS and he won’t get away with it
23RD DECEMBER FROM BEVERLEY RLSS
Let me do the usual and start by apologising of what has not been happening regarding DLS . Melissa asked me to prepare a briefing for the RLSS Board which I duly did setting out the steps taken and the agreement by DLS/John Biggins to meet with you in person including going to Spain, an offer which was suddenly withdrawn. The Trustees refusal to meet with me and the important fact that you went through the emotional investment of writing a statement of experience about Br J and you have not as much as received an acknowledgement let alone an apology. As you know, Melissa has advocated strongly that this needs Board intervention and the agreement is that Fr David will make contact with the DLS Trustees – Please see the following bio taken from the RLSS website re Fr David
Fr David Smolira SJ – Non-executive Director
David is a Religious of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits). He was the provincial of the Order for 10 years.
MY X POST DECEMBER 24th
The De La Salle scandal is accelerating! Latest: DLS have refused to acknowledge their past abuse crimes, refused to explain in writing, and finally refused to have any contact with the RLSS – the Catholic Safeguarding org because they’d criticised the DLS. (Their paymasters)
So the RLSS had a board meeting to discuss. Solution: Send in a Jesuit as a go-between and peacemaker. The RLSS CEO and the Safeguarding officer were both WOMEN who the DLS refused to communicate with. So the RLSS sent in a MAN & a Religious instead. It’s called Clericalism
The two women were Melissa CEO of the RLSS and Beverley Clarke Safeguarding Officer.
They have both subsequently left the RLSS IN February 2026
7TH JANUARY FROM MELISSA , CEO OF THE RLSS
Good evening Pat,
Thank you very much for your kind email.
I am truly grateful for your willingness to offer an RLSS viewpoint on your website, particularly given how little we have been able to achieve for you personally. Bev keeps me regularly updated as events unfold or, at times, seem to close altogether. I am still awaiting a clear timeline for communication and answers for you from our side, and I continue to press for this at every opportunity (twice today alone). I am beginning to feel deeply frustrated by my inability to secure resolution, and I know Bev’s frustration is equally intense. I cannot begin to comprehend how you continue to cope with this behaviour; it feels beyond cruel.
I appreciate that words alone are insufficient, especially at this stage and for those we have failed to provide resolution for. What sustains me are the rare occasions when we do achieve an outcome for someone who contacts us, small victories, but meaningful ones nonetheless. Without those moments, the emotional toll would be overwhelming, and I know I don’t need to convince you of how draining this process is.
To the point of this email: it is a sincere and unequivocal yes the RLSS would very much like to contribute to your website forum.
Both Philip and Bev kindly keep me updated on your blog. In fact, your blog prompted us to update our own website. As a result, we now appear in search engine results when key terms are used, something we did not previously, which was an oversight and entirely my responsibility. I was unaware of this issue until you highlighted it.
For the RLSS, increasing financial input independent of RLGs is essential to ensure greater transparency and accountability. I have now submitted our Charity Commission application forms to help move this forward.
Thank you for your continued determination and drive. You should not still be fighting, certainly not this far down the road. It feels as though you have been failed by us, and that is deeply distressing. The question Bev and I continue to grapple with is where we go when all available routes have been exhausted without success. Our next steps must lead to genuine forward movement, not further backpedalling.
Kindest regards
Melissa
Note: Melissa has now left the RLSS. Contrary to what Melissa promised, the new RLSS has not contributed to my Facebook website Forum.

16TH FEB MY NOTES
Meeting between Father David RLSS and the DLS
I (Pat) have not been told the outcome of the meeting which the RLSS board are still debating on March 11!!
I have told the RLSS they have until the end of March to advise me of what happened and what they are going to do about it.
4th MARCH FROM BEVERLEY RLSS
THE RLSS BOARD’S POSITION
I am advised that the Board is very concerned the way in which matters in your case have developed (or not) and are considering how best to proceed. The RLSS including the Board want to find a resolution in a way that is just and fair to you.
MY COMMENT: The Board cannot ‘impose’ such a resolution. It has to be done in consultation with myself, the injured party.
The Board alone CANNOT decide how best to proceed. It has to be done by agreement with myself and negotiation on what is ‘just and fair’. I would welcome such a democratic solution.
Otherwise they are ‘punching down’ on Survivors. This is inappropriate, especially as the RLSS are unqualified and incompetent as I have exampled so many times.
The RLSS have no right legally or morally to take such authority upon themselves alone.
11th MARCH
No news
MY OBJECTIVE
The De La Salles need to acknowledge the sexual abuse crimes they committed against children in their care, separate to their numerous crimes against children that have already come before the UK courts and for which they have been found guilty.
An acknowledgement of their crimes is more important than an apology which, thus far, have been empty AND meaningless words.
In an effort to achieve a quick, practical and simple solution, I suggest it should be limited to acknowledging the crimes of the worst three DLS child rapists:
Brothers James, Solomon and Kevin.
If the DLS and the RLSS have a better way, I’m open to negotiation.
But the paedophile crimes of this notorious trio are provable and well known. I have numerous testimonies as well as my own.
If the DLS refuse to engage, then their continued position with the RLSS is untenable.
The De La Salles then need to be dropped as clients by the RLSS because they are provably a criminal organisation sustained by two men – Ben and Biggins – whose ignoring these past serious crimes against children makes them criminals, too.
The RLSS officers have stated very clearly that the DLS is cruel and in the wrong. See above.
So if a relationship with the DLS is sustained, it means the RLSS is also enabling paedophiles. Not supporting Survivors as they claim above.
It means the RLSS is turning a blind eye to the rape of numerous little boys by the De La Salles at St Joseph’s College, Ipswich and other De La Salle schools in the UK.
I saw in MEDIA FAQ on the RLSS site that it claims to be ‘a registered charity funded through multiple streams.’
In fact, it is a private company.
This felt to me like an obvious mistake and a serious one, so I drew the RLSS attention to it.
I was relieved therefore to get this response from the RLSS.
6TH MARCH 2026
Dear Pat,
Thank you for your email.
The media sheet, currently on the RLSS website contains incorrect information, specifically that RLSS is a registered charity.
RLSS is not a registered charity, and this information should not have been included in the media FAQ sheet. Measures are being implemented to correct this error.
Thank you for alerting us to this incorrect information.
………………..
I thought it would be quickly changed as it a serious matter.
So I checked today – FIVE DAYS LATER – and was startled to see the charity claim was STILL there!
11th MARCH 2026
RLSS – Media FAQ Sheet Who are the Religious Life Safeguarding Service (RLSS)? As a registered charity funded through multiple streams, we remain steadfast in ensuring that those affected by abuse are at the heart of everything we do.
Last updated: June 2025
……………….
Judging by the update, this means the RLSS has been claiming it is a registered charity for over one year.
I double checked with AI today to ensure that I had read the information correctly.
It confirmed
11TH MARCH 2026
AI Overview
Religious Life Safeguarding Service (RLSS) is a registered charity funded through multiple streams. It operates as an independent safeguarding body for religious life groups in the Catholic Church in England and Wales, providing professional, evidence-based advice.
CONCLUSION:
It’s surprising that only I seem to have studied the RLSS FAQ.
It would appear that it’s not read by the media or anyone else and no one actually cares?!
Worse, no one at the RLSS is clearly bothered, otherwise you would imagine that it would be changed immediately, rather than leave it five or more days.
There’s another consideration, too. ‘A registered charity funded through multiple streams’.
If the RLSS, as a false charity, received ‘funds through multiple streams’ that money should be returned to the benefactors as it has been given under false pretences.
There’s something clearly wrong at the RLSS, but, unfortunately, I have to let it go.
I could pass it onto the CSSA, who are meant to audit such matters, but they ignore all my complaints, too.
However, the mistake is noted here and may need to be referred to later by myself or others. Currently, I have to focus my energies on how efficiently and fairly the RLSS will deal with the concluding chapter of their De La Salle disaster, news of which is imminent.
And WHY his memory needs spitting on. Not remembered as a college prize.
Kearney’s wife died a few weeks ago. The troll who tries to shut me up wrote and told me. Probably a niece or close family friend.
I’ll definitely write up more about Kearney ‘a fat, pathetic chain smoker’ in the weeks to come.
As I may have mentioned in a recent blog, it’s been confirmed by two sources that Catholic Widows were sexually available to parishioners. It was ‘okay’. How that logic works defeats me. Why is it secretly all right to have adulterous relationships with young, poor Catholic Widows?
Just don’t get caught.
So Kearney had such a relationship with my mother. I’m pretty certain there was a financial aspect.
My mother’s behaviour and child trafficking crimes meant she has forfeited any right to privacy, just like Kearney has. I have no idea what the correct term to describe her ‘discreet’, ’subtle’ relationships with various lonely Catholic men would be, other than saying she was the ‘parish bike’.
Marnie is about the only film I can think that is even remotely close to what was going on in my house as a child
His logic also defeats me. I have VERY clear memories that he told us ‘his wife was dying’.
Why that should be an excuse for his behaviour I have no idea. Surely it would have been much better to say, ‘My wife doesn’t understand me’ – the usual bs.
I remembered it so vividly that I actually sent away for a copy of K’s marriage and death certificates which confirmed he was only married once. But she actually died a lifetime later!
I don’t believe my memory is incorrect – it would be the first time it was so faulty. But it made me take my time. Now I don’t care. His vile name needs dragging through the gutter and there’s now enough circumstantial evidence to confirm he was a child sex abuser and child rapist.
Also child abusers are inveterate liars. Thus Fitzpatrick (a Knight of St Columba), another ‘client’ of my mother’s, told me he was an ‘agricultural engineer’. He dressed sharply and expensively – even if he still looked like a spiv – but this was because his wife was an heiress and they lived in the best part of Ipswich.
I remember how she would glare across at my attractive mother in church.
It was only when I got hold of his death certificate that I saw the truth:
He was a paint shop foreman at Ransome Agricultural Engineers.
Later, I tipped paint over his car I’m proud to say. I wish I could remember more details- whatever they did to me, it was worth it,
I always fought back against these evil Catholic filth.
A good school friend from that era who went to St J’s is a petrol head – so he knew every vehicle the teachers drove. He didn’t recall Kearney having a car which is unusual. So he must have walked from his private road off Ancaster Lane, up Birkfield Drive, right into Stonelodge Lane onto Chantry estate. Maybe a 30 minutes walk.
The risk of being spotted by a St J’s boy must have been enormous, but I guess they didn’t care. Lust is blind.
But, just as in the 80s, Mrs K would call in Mr K to thrash kids, so my mother would call on Kearney to act as a disciplinarian.
Can you imagine having Kearney as a temporary stepdad at age 14?! He was bad enough at school. I’d had enough with Fitzpatrick – a similar Irish Catholic bullying thug – when I was younger and so there was no way he would win.
But Catholics, especially Irish Catholics, have to win. They have to break their enemies – even if they’re children. It’s their holy duty. It’s part of the sickness of the religion.
So he went ‘Breaking Bad’ and used chloroform/ether to rape me – more as a punishment, rather than anything else. Because I’d gone to the police and they must have been so scared all their dirty secrets would come out.
My mother didn’t care what he did to me. ‘Mike knows best’. Her moral compass was shot to Hell.
Anyone intelligent would have backed off. But Irish Catholics don’t think that way. They fight fire with fire – to show their victims that there is no escape from their power.
‘Ill give you something to cry about’.
There were other equally bad events both before and later I’ll write about another time. He did everything to terrify me
Because he HAD to win.
My last memory of Kearney is in a pub a year or two later. By the Old Cattle Market. He was standing at the bar with that sad, lonely look single male drinkers have. I was excitedly talking to a friend about a band playing at the nearby Assembly Rooms shortly.
That really pissed him off because he came over and said, ‘Does your mother know you’re here?”
‘Yes,’ I lied.
He nodded and slumped off into the night, a sad, pathetic figure.
He escaped prison, but I can at least spit on his memory here.
The crunch meeting with the DLSS is Feb 16. I think that’s why they’re delaying their response until after that date
I anticipate a sell-out by the RLSS, or, worse, endless further prevarication
Regarding the AGM below, Survivors are STAKEHOLDERS and should have every right to attend.
It will be fascinating to listen to their wriggling bs excuses when the RLSS can eventually be bothered to reply to me.
After all, we’re just Survivors. Who gives a damn about us? As the questions below make all too clear.
It’s THE MONEY that matters.
FROM ME TO CEO, RLSS. 1 FEB. NO REPLY.
Hi, Melissa,
I’m posting this blog below in a week’s time.
If you have the time, I’d appreciate a response. Otherwise I’ll publish with my questions raised but to be answered in the future.
Still hoping the RLSS will engage with my Survivor FB site, as you promised.
Many thanks
Pat
RLSS AGM
AGM 27th & 28th April. Tamworth.
I’d like for formally ask, via this email and blog, for an invitation to the RLSS AGM.
i think it would answer many questions and explain the current situation.
It will be worth my while to make the trip from Spain and emphasises the importance I attach to the current crisis.
It would be for myself and my Plus One (my wife Lisa) and I am very serious about it and will book the tickets for the relevant days as evidence.
I expect my request will be turned down but I would like to receive the rejection in writing.
The optics on this do not look good to put it mildly – an event from which Survivors are not invited and are not welcome. So much for transparency.
It should really be for the two days, but I will accept just Day Two (‘open to all’ ?) and understand the presence of a Survivor will not be welcome at the Gala Dinner. Sounds like all concerned are in for a very good time. Arguably at the expense of Survivors who are actually the basis of the business and how the RLSS makes money. And for which a Gala Dinner is affordable by the ’safeguards’ and ‘holy’ orders.
I would be very happy to address the RLSS audience on the experience of Survivors. I can send a speech draft in advance. So there is no danger of my being a ‘disruptive influence’ and the DLS members – if still present – can relax.
Do send me an invite, and I’ll buy those plane tickets.
MEETING ON 16th Feb BETWEEN RLSS and DE LA SALLES
Can you confirm that minutes will be taken at the meeting and, if not, why not?
Minutes were taken previously, but this is the crunch meeting.
This is to avoid a very hand-picked, edited version. I need the truth.
Personal comments about me by the DLS can always be redacted.
RLSS TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Survivors are not mentioned in your mission statement.
‘Committed to a Safer Catholic Church’.
So: It’s about protecting the Church.
Not us
You cannot serve two masters as has been proven many times over.
The only master should be the TRUTH.
Yet, within the body of the RLSS site, there are constant references to helping Survivors. So it gives a misleading impression.
It should be included in your mission statement.
Whilst I appreciate you are in the process of changing the RLSS status. It is not exactly clear how or when.
Your website – with broad brush strokes – shows you are not really for Survivors. And never were. You are misrepresenting us. It explains the noticeably slow reaction of the RLSS to the current crisis which I now need to get to the bottom of.
The Religious Life Safeguarding(RLSS) is an independent team of safeguarding professionals offering safeguarding services to the Religious of the Catholic Church in England and Wales.
Operating independently from the Religious Life Groups they support, the RLSS ensures that safeguarding practices are professional, evidence-based, and aligned with national standards.
NOT true. You are not independent, as you know. But a reader might not realise this.
It’s False Advertising. This is quite serious and would involve some ingenious backpedalling by the RLSS to justify.
SPECIFIC TERMS
You promise full transparency,
So, as a Survivor harmed by the DLS I have the right to know:
What is the contractual undertaking between the RLSS and the DLS?
e.g. Is it a five year contract or is it ongoing?
What specifically are the DLS paying the RLSS to do?
What do they undertake to do in exchange?
What are the clauses regarding DLS liability?
Are the DLS in breach of contract?
Yes? Or no?
No phone call.
In writing, please.
I suspect you will not reply as you are leaving but are possibly still bound by the Trustees’ NDAs. And with all those clerics on board it’s actually the full power of the Catholic Church
If cornered, which is difficult I know, i suspect the RLSS will say:
We are not required to reveal to Survivors the Terms of our contractual obligations to the DLS which remain confidential.
This would clearly show you are on the side of your Paymasters.
So:
You are not independent.
It is also triggering and reminds me of a similar PTSD experience when I was a victim of organised systemic abuse at the hands of a DLS monk Solomon. Beverly has the details.
The ’softly softly’, handwringing approach everyone at the RLSS has recently been using towards me actually alerted me that something was going on.
Because I’ve been in business for a lifetime,so I can actually smell if something is wrong, the subtle delays, avoidance of certain tricky questions
I note them all and then reflect on them to see where the credibility gaps are.
For example, the emphasis on the DLS declining numbers, shrinking control system from remote Malta – with the unspoken subtext of ‘leave these poor old men alone’ which is very far from the truth.
I’ve checked. The DLS are alive and well in considerable numbers.
CONCLUSION (Philip please note – to ensure this goes back to the Trustees )
i believe there is only a lightweight contract between you and the DLS.
This explains the DLS truculent and aggressive attitude because they know they can get away with it. They can lead you on, then literally tell you to go away.
They’ve tried this trick several times before. I have the details. One was exposed in the Tablet.
Because you have no power over them.
At the time I found that really mysterious. Now it makes sense.
It is the only explanation that fits the facts
However:
The RLSS have no other option now but to cancel/suspend/expel the DLS from their client list for their criminal conduct.
They are a provable criminal organisation including serIal child abusers who have rejected your advice, and are hiding from the consequences of their past actions.
It would mean that ongoing and future DLS Survivors are not covered. But, with the notable exception of Beverley, the RLSS has not helped any DLS Survivors AFAIK.
So there’s no difference.
The meeting will coincide with my bid to get social media coverage of the latest DLS scandal. It features the Jimmy Savile of the DLS- Bro Solomon sex-trafficking myself and at least two other little boys to a famous and secretive A-list Showbiz organisation still around today.
Beverley has the details.
So with the Epstein scandal of celebrities abusing children in the news, the scandal should reach a wide audience.
My advice to the RLSS is:
Cancel the De La Salles now and you’ll have my support.
‘Inspiring holiness’. Inspiring pedophilia would be more accurate. Lying comes so naturally to them. It’s like watching an old school Disney or Hallmark film. Sugary sweet lies.
I was aged11/12, approx 1960 – Solomon’s last year at St J’s College Ipswich before he was sent to what we schoolboys believed, with some accuracy, was a DLS pedophile penitentiary on Jersey, close to France motherhouse, a designated escape route. A place other DLS abusers were also sent to before being ‘moved on’ after a ‘cooling off’ period – in his case to St J’s College Beulah Hill.
I wrote my testimony about Bro. James (I haven’t published yet) at the request of the RLSS and it opened Pandora’s Box.
The result was shocking and I needed a counsellor to cope with the outpourings of my memories of which Solomon was a prime element.
But there were other abusers, too. Kearney, for instance. I think it’s called ‘flooding’.
I was emotionally devastated. But it was the right thing to do. ’Better out than in’
And The Epstein Files haven’t helped.
They’re a mirror to my own experiences of being indentured to the Catholic Church and trafficked from age 6 to 16.
Since ChristmA, I have had three counselling sessions a week, to cope with the recent emotional PTSD flashbacks.
The original memories came up about five years ago. At the time, I decided to let it go because I was fed-up talking about the historic DLS crimes and not getting anywhere.
And I thought Solomon was so notorious, someone else would expose him. After all:
This is the Jimmy Savile of the De La Salles.
A crime reporter tried to expose him. But the De La Salles outwitted her. It’s all on the record about him..
Solomon taught at three De La Salle schools, despite being kicked out of all of them for child abuse and alcoholism.
Then he went on to work for an international children’s charity and became a sex tourist to places like Homan’s Boys Town in India, closely linked to the DLS.
Old Boy Chris Mullin gave ex-DLS Homan a glowing tribute in the Guardian. Said he was a modern day saint.
In fact Homan was a violent rapist who tore a child’s cheek open with his teeth.
The reporter was so shocked he left his profession and became a novelist.
Homan (when he was a DLS) and Solomon used to exchange notes on the children they raped.
My classmate told me of a traumatic experience when he was attacked by Homan.
As everyone knows, SOLOMON had major showbiz connections. ( the brilliant pianist Peter Katin etc. He played at St J’s many times) . He joined the world of showbiz himself.
I have a video of him on a TV quiz game called ‘Tell the Truth’.
He was ’The Swinging Monk’ and had a hit parade record. 1967 photo above
But back in 1960, he trafficked me to pedophile hotel parties in London . These were A-list parties, very rich showbiz people.
I’d strongly resisted, I even went on an 8 day hunger strike, but I never gave in. Just like today. So, instead, a family member beat me up to ensure my obedience.
My family needed the money, ostensibly to pay my school fees. They told me: “The debt must be paid’
There were three DLS St J’s boys who were trafficked. One was a DLS classmate, another was a boy from another class. Maybe there were other trafficked boys and girls, too, because it was a big event.
A REGULAR event. A well-organized event. I’d guess 50 guests.
Just as 11 year olds today put on their headphones, I played Solitaire and Mercury Maze on the long boring car journey to London. 2 – 3 hours?
I was given a black velvet ‘Little Lord Fauntleroy’ jacket and shirt to wear because we were dirt poor and I had no suitable sharp clothes
My classmate and fellow victim wore a similar red velvet jacket. Very showbiz look.
His parents had little money either, despite going to St J’s. We both lived on council estates. Whitton, in his case.
Hence why both of us later said we wanted to be priests because then our school fees would be paid.
The showbiz party featured very swanky A-listers at the top of their profession.
One of the triggers was an autobiography book I was given, written by a VERY famous comedian. He was the head honcho of the organisation and that’s a matter of record.
I was given the book by someone unknown, probably the comedian himself. I read it as an 11 year old kid many times and didn’t understand whyI kept reading. It was boring, the comedian was showing off, and preening himself, but I felt compelled to read it.
I can still repeat much of the book’s content today.
The showbiz hair fashion style was ‘Brylcream Boys’ so he and the other men all looked alike in their tuxes. Everybody loved this ‘national treasure’ – just like Savile.
I’v just listened to his gags on youtube. I have to admit, with some reluctance, because he was not my generation, he was actually very funny. Brilliant timing. I can see he was so well-loved.
Just like Savile.
I don’t want to tell you how I feel about him.
You can probably guess who the famous show-biz organisation was. Clue: ‘They do sooooooo much good work for charity’.
That’s always a red flag.
I will name them in due course.
My abiding memory is of the guests plying me with delicious food – thinking that would make me compliant and like them.
They failed.
Even today, I react negatively if someone gives me an overloaded plate of food.
Having been abused by the Catholic Church since the age of six, I was used to male abusers and I knew what they wanted.
However, there were some things I would not do, but ‘Red Jacket’ would. That led to conflict between us back at St J’s.
I lost my best friend in class because Red Jacket was willing to sexually experiment with him. They were curiously trying out the things he had been taught by the abusers, and I would not.
I was heartbroken.
But at this party female abusers (from their own showbiz organisation ) were the worst. They were disgusting.
I was shocked and traumatised. FFS I was eleven!! This was my first knowledge of female genitalia and it scared me and what they wanted me to do to them.
If I went into more graphic detail, you’d know this has the ring of truth.
Solomon played the piano.
All the showbiz, male and female, treated as a piece of meat, complimenting me on my manhood etc. But no conversation about their showbiz careers. No interesting anecdotes about Saturday Night At The Palladium.
Although that may come.
I was just a sex object for their fantasies.
These trips went on for nine months, very regularly. IIRC once a weekend. Then Solomon was sacked. His drunken behaviour was the supposed reason, but we all knew it was also because he was also a pedo.
Pedo Brother James wrote a glowing tribute on him for the school magazine.
Once, on the way back, Solomon started a drunken argument with his driver.
Things turned nasty on Dedham Gun Hill. They were arguing about Solomon’s share of the fee.
Anyone who knows Dedham Gun Hill, Stratford St Mary, will recall it was an accident black spot.
I was absolutely terrified and thought I’d have to walk home. A huge distance. But they eventually patched things up.
Back home, my mother (economically dependent on the Catholic Church and never fully recovered from a year in a mental asylum and with drug-dependency issues) told me off about the stain on my velvet jacket.
It wasn’t a food stain.
There’s much more – like the oath of secrecy Solomon made me swear, but that’s enough for now.
And once I’ve finished with this case, I have to move onto the next case: Kearney, a lay teacher at S J’s and a child rapist.
His conduct as my teacher is also the responsibility of the DLS.
And we haven’t even talked about my English teacher who the Ipswich police arrested. He pleaded dotage, otherwise the police would have charged him with child rape.
Kearney’s niece or close friend (using constantly changing troll addresses) has been regularly challenging me, trying to shut me up. So I held off for four years as I slowly collected evidence.
Not anymore.
The memories have flooded back , more vile and violent than I thought – with Kearney’s own version of ‘Breaking Bad’.
He doesn’t get away with that.
And don’t tell me ‘Oh, he would never do anything that evil.’
More information in this incredible and very emotional interview. It is very long and the audio is poor quality in the first section.
So if you want to initially get a brief summarised perspective, consider watching just the last 15 minutes where the investigator covers the current state of play.
It’s noteworthy that the bishop of the relevant Catholic diocese ignored the investigator.
Also, that the investigator wasn’t happy with the role of Catholic Safeguarding.
And that he had complained to the Charity Commission about a board of Trustees still connected to Caldey Island.
A valuable, pro-active way of hitting back at the vile oppressors of children.
The most disturbing part for me was that Eric Gill, the sculptor and notorious Catholic pedophile, was a visitor to Caldey Island and was closely involved with the monks there.
So abuse goes back a long way.
The transgenerational nature of Catholic abuse was proven in an Australian academic study I’ve posted on this site.
Therefore Gill’s involvement didn’t come as that much of a surprise
A clear indicator, alongside other evidence, of systemic, organised Catholic abuse of children at Caldey Island.
It’s worth remembering Caldey Island is not unique. That there are similar examples of UK organised systemic Catholic abuse, including the De La Salles
