St. George 2016!

Once again we were delighted to find ourselves in St. George this summer, although this year our numbers were greater! We moved the date up a bit so Amanda's kids (who attend a year round school), could come along with us. Also Tyler and Gina and Layton came, and my dad! (Joshua was working, so he didn't come...and neither did Amanda's oldest, Taylor).
Here are a few pics that we took from the dam on the way to St. George:
The only evidence that Amanda, Amy and I were all together...we're so cool in our shades.
Image
Beau, Jacob and Hayden. Something about this picture...I love it!
Image
The kids were so happy to be out of the car...Marianne especially loves spending every second with her cousins! I think she even rode with Amy on the way up so she could be with Luke...and Jacob rode in Amanda's car with Preston or Hayden
Image
We had a great week, the majority of which was spent (as the pictures attest to) SWIMMING!
I tried to get a picture of each kid...
Bekah's big muscles; she's utilizing her birthday gift: a snorkel!
Image
Jacob is showing off how deep he had gotten into the pool...it may have been a bit chilly the first time. Jacob would say that his favorite part of the trip was waking up early every morning and exploring the city with Grandpa. My dad would leave before seven each day, stop at Maverick for breakfast and let Jacob pick anything he wanted. Then they'd drive all over the city and find cool things to see. He came home full and happy each morning!
Image
Amanda is super fun in the pool! She plays keep away, volleyball, and gives shoulder rides and back rides to anyone who is willing!
Image
I can identify Beau here only by his minion swimshorts! He was so much braver this trip - look at that flip!
Image
Mikey is ALWAYS daring! He's quite an acrobatic kid!
Image
Preston specialized in diving (although I think he was doing a cannonball in this pic)
Image
Marianne made huge strides in swimming this trip! She even got brave enough to take off her life jacket and swim across the short end of the pool. She loved that she could stand on the steps and make little dives to get things she dropped.
Image
I think this picture was taken at the beginning of the week...by the end we were all much tanner!
Image
Miss Madison! She really loved swimming underwater.
Image
Sarah and Bekah were sweetly instrumental in helping Marianne get over her fear of jumping into the pool.
Image
Amy and Leo! He didn't love the water a ton, but sitting on the side and playing with his mom was okay.
Image
Hayden was a champion splasher!
Image
As always Luke came through with coolness points! He's the funnest kid to get action diving shots of!
Image
Layton loved the water!
Image
Especially with Mom! I found this barely used polka dot swim suit at the thrift store but the torso was just a little too short for me...so I gave it to Gina and it was stunning on her!
Image
I lucked out one afternoon and got to have some one on one baby time while everyone else went out. They loved playing with blocks and reading books. Leo is a momma's boy so I was especially happy that he was not sad with me.
Image
We did pull everyone away from the pool (and their phones/tablets) once for a hike. We took this picture as we headed away from the house for my brother James because it was his birthday!
Image
Sarah especially loved all of the pictures.
Image
Aren't Marianne's pants snazzy? She found them at DI. Bekah was worried about her getting lost, so she took really good care of her.
Image
This trip to St. George was Bekah's first trip to the temple as well! St. George Temple will always have a special place in her heart.
Image
We took a picture similar to this one the first time we all went to St. George. It is extremely unnerving to have that many children sitting on the edge of a rather long drop!Image
Tyler with his number one buddy Layton, and with his too-big-for-carrying-around nephew Beau!
Image
My Uncle Leon and Aunt Jeanette came by to play and swim one afternoon. Leon and my Dad were loads of fun in the pool, as each of the flipping, splashing kids they launched can attest to!
Image
Leon and Jeanette watch their granddaughter daily for their daughter, my cousin Melanie. She happens to be less than a year younger than Marianne, so they had a great time playing together!
Image
I think my mom especially loved having both of her grandbabies together!
Image
I'm grateful for family trips and adventures! We stopped in Jacob Lake on the way home for lunch, and cookies of course! Look how grown up all of these kids are getting, all lined up in birth order...Joshua would go between Preston and Hayden. (And notice how Tyler is trying to sneak a bite of Marianne's cookie?! He didn't get away with it!)

Bekah's Birthday

I turned TWELVE this July!
My mom, my aunt Amy, and my aunt Amanda made this awesome Hogwarts cake for my birthday!
Image
Me posing with my Harry potter figures, and silly Beau!!!
Image
Swimming in the pool in St. George on my birthday. We swam for three or four hours.
Image

I had a Harry Potter themed birthday party. We made potions, aka shower gel
Image
Here a am sitting in my throne after opening presents with my friends.
Image
We played played pin the scar on Harry Potter and I think my friend Zaida won.
Image
My mom helped me make a Harry Potter shirt, and my friends gave me a few Beanie Boos
Left to right: Bubbles, Sammy, and Ollie.
Image
We had cupcakes and ice cream for dessert. It was awesome!!!
Image
It was an AMAZING birthday, and I love being twelve!!!

Beau's Birthday and Baptism

Beau turned EIGHT this July!
He is loving all things minion.
Image
He is a pretty super kid with awesome super powers like the ability to speak with all sorts of different goofy accents, super strength and endurance, velcro-like stick-to-it abilities, and a cheerful smile that makes grown women melt. (At least I do.)
Image
We celebrated with a party with his friends, but on his actual birthday I think we had ice cream...
Image
One of his birthday gifts was a Lego helicopter set. He spent quite a while building this and became very proficient at deciphering the instructions; add that to his list of super powers!
Image
We decided to throw a "Minion: How to Be a Villain" Party for Beau. We had minion themed food...
Image

Image
...An Evil Photo booth (where you could rob a bank. Or dress up as Davy Crockett robbing a bank with a PVC gun...)
Image
Bruce was the photographer. He was divine.
Image
I borrowed a couple of bags of wigs and masks and fun accessories from a friend and the boys had to dress up as a villain for the photo booth. Some of them were naturally villainous and didn't need any costumes.
Back row: Isaac, Lucas, Beau, Cameron
Front row: Kalani, Kai, Ben, Wesley
Image
Later they were all able to make PVC marshmallow shooters and have a marshmallow war. We took them all to the park, let them out, and 39 seconds later the heavens opened with a massive thunderstorm. We rounded them up, now soaking wet, and headed home to have an indoor marshmallow war, led by General Rus Payne.
Rus was a terrific party entertainer for this group of boys! My favorite part was when it was time to open the presents. He made each boy tell Beau how they had stolen their gifts and where they had stolen them from. They came up with EXCELLENT stories! This is a blurry Beau, aka, King Bob, listening to one of the stories.
Image
Beau chose to wait to be baptized until September with his cousin Ben. I had a lot of fun shopping for a suit with him! He's such a handsome little gentleman!
Image
The primary president in my ward is a wonderful photographer, and as a gift to each of the kids who turn eight, she takes them to the temple and does a photo shoot with them. These pictures were actually taken right around his birthday in July.
Image

I love how EXCITED he is here! This is an accurate depiction of the enthusiasm he had for being baptized.
Image
The day of the baptism was September 3rd. We decided to do it out in Edgewood because then we wouldn't be a part of the stake baptisms in my stake. It was awesome to do it with family in Edgewood, but I have to admit that we were a little disappointed that none of our friends made the 30 minute drive to celebrate with us.
These are the THREE AMIGOS! Ben is on the left, Russel in the center, and Beau on the right. Ben's mom Carla made all of the boys orange bow ties!
Image
My favorite little niece gave me the best kisses while we were there!
Image
Beau was baptized by his dad.
Image
Beau's Nana gave a talk about baptism. My dad gave a talk about the Holy Ghost. Bekah played "Faith" on her violin, accompanied by Carla on the piano, with Libby, Zaya, Emma, and a couple of Emma's cousins singing.
I am so proud of Beau and the choice he made to be baptized!
Image
Beau said the best part of that day was getting baptized and hanging out with the three amigos!
