Home Sweet Home!

After house hunting for several months, Devin and I had begun to feel a little hopeless and a little desperate. Then one August evening, this was our last stop...

Like many we'd seen before, it was an older home so we were expecting that it would need a lot of work.

Instead we found...

It had been completely re-done and updated on the inside! It was Exactly what we were looking for in every aspect.

Not to mention the huge...

Yes, I am referring to the huge satellite dish... Who couldn't possibly want that? Actually, this is the backyard and it has been a dream come true for Adalyn and I.

We immediately knew that this was where we were supposed to be. Our first Sunday at our new ward was our confirmation. So many people approached us, already knew our names, and asked how they could help move us in. Our neighbors are constantly offering their help, tools, and garden goods. We feel so blessed.

Even though we have been here over a month now, there are times that it still seems surreal. In those moments, I take it all in as a reminder how much our Heavenly Father loves us and wants the best for us!

We can't offer enough thanks for the people who have helped us over these last few months. I don't think we will ever be able to show just how grateful we are to you all! When we count our blessings, you are each among them!

Lots of Love!

Family Reunions

To kick off the fall season both of our families held Reunions. We love our families and really enjoy spending time with them. Not to mention how much we appreciate everyone for all that they have done for us (especially most recently).

First came the Wayment Reunion held up at my parent's cabin. We had a great time relaxing, riding 4 wheelers, catching lizards, and playing in the dirt.

Next came the Payne Reunion which was held in a cabin right next to Silver Lake in Cottonwood Canyon. It was beautiful up there and we had so much fun hiking, relaxing in the hot tub, playing games, and eating.

(Our entire group of 19 made the hike up to Lake Solitude... that includes 2 babies, 4 toddlers, and 3 kids!)

And of course we never miss the opportunity for family pictures!

Love you all!!

Summer 2010

Summer seemed to come and go in a whirlwind... and now here we are watching it drift off into fall. We had so much going on over the summer. It was fun and busy, exhausting and stressful at times, but in the end we have many great memories to look back on and so many tender mercies to be thankful for.

Adalyn's first appointment with the dentist. Uncle Aaron took such great care of her she didn't even notice that he was cleaning her teeth! (That's Aaron Olsen with Skyline Dental. Call 435-723-8913 to schedule an appointment today!)

Devin and I celebrated our 5th Anniversary!

Random Thank You's:
Even though I know the people that these are for will never see them, I want to write them down as a reminder of the many 'tender mercies' shown to us daily. It will also be a reminder of service and how much a small, random act of kindness can mean to someone in need.
  • Thank you to the unknown woman at the gas station, who saw us cleaning up massive throw up, after Adalyn had spewed in the car, and brought us towels and plastic sacks to help. We were 2 hours from anywhere and without the towels Addie would have had to sit in a wet car seat for that long.
  • Thank you to the 5 or 6 of our new neighbors who saw us working on our house and brought tools to help us. And especially to the 70 year old man who stayed to help Devin with some difficult work.
  • Thank you to the stranger who saw a crying girl at the zoo and offered his unused Carousel ticket to cheer her up.
  • Thank you to our new ward members for making us immediately feel a part of the ward.
  • Thank you to the the old man working at Walmart for the free Rotisserie chicken.
  • Thank you to the Target Pharmacist who didn't just brush me off to fend for myself, but instead spent a couple hours trying to help me find the right prescription for Q.
And I'm sure the list could go on for days. But writing it all down definitely makes me count my blessings!

Goodbye Summer... you will be missed!
