Hazy days on the river bank,
warm waters flowing free,
Summer casts her magic spell
bestowing joy for all to see.
Blue skies as deep as oceans
white clouds billowing bright,
verdant green fields of grass
welcome wildflowers with delight.

Darkness reigns in dead of night,
keeping fingers of light at bay,
bringing to life signs of unease,
shadows flicker then die away.
Movement sensed, never seen
muted sounds build confusion,
adding to the nightmare feel,
‘til daybreak offers conclusion.

choices
confound,
you just have to pick right.

Emotions surge
taking their toll,
leaving mere remnants behind.
Giving you pause to sift and sort
to get things clear in your mind.
Nothing is certain, totally unclear,
reasoning is out of control,
as life offers Le Cordon-bleu menu
to pick and choose
or eat it all, whole.

The
World is waiting,
can you feel the tension?
As electricity sizzles
and didn’t I mention,
storm after storm
wait in the wings
giving the impression
that Nature herself brings,
a feeling of haste,
plus a need to begone
as the lights are switched on
but no-ones
home.

I wondered, where’d the letter go?
Seemingly I’ve read it,
although how would I know?
No clue where it came from,
smudged Postmark,
and typed address,
Ah well,
no point in worrying,
as Inside there’s purely
emptiness.

With January nearly at its end,
I’m wondering, how are you?
Did the month treat you kindly,
or leave you feeling so blue!
For me the ‘i’s were dotted,
though the ‘T’s weren’t crossed,
so by not paying attention,
’twas effortless to get lost.
