We did a tip run this morning, disposing of some heavy attic boards no longer required, so it was a very careful drive due to the pot holes en route and not wanting to damage our suspension!
The tip was packed, and we had to queue to get to the section we wanted, so although we tried to be considerate as we waited, traffic was backing up behind us as it’s a one way system and the bay we wanted was near the exit.
It took about twenty minutes to unload, then we went into town for coffee.
It was market day, so parking was difficult, though we found a spot not too far away from the coffee shop. Oh, it was so welcome!

1. What is a canopy?
A tin containing a single pea.
2. What is a cookie?
A miniature oven.
3. What is a pup cup?
The gadget a vet gives you for collecting a urine specimen from your dog.
4. What is a typhoon?
A machine that types a telephone conversation.
5. Why are nails sharp at one end?
So that you know which end goes in the wall and which end to hit with a hammer (duh!!)
6. What’s the difference between a chip and a fry?
You can’t fry paint.
7. What is a shoe horn?
A blaring error in fashion.
8. Why do spirit levels have bubbles?
Easier to read than letters.
9. Why do we have tea leaves but coffee grains?
All down to growth conditions and processing habits.
10. What is a diplomat?
A child’s play mat for building blocks.

Dad had booked a table at one of the posh restaurants for a special occasion.
The maître d’ greeted Dad with a smile when he said he’d booked a table for eight.
Keeping his composure, he apologised and said he could not find a booking for that many people, so asked Dad to confirm his name, and the date of his reservation.
‘Definitely this evening,’ he said, ‘a table for eight. There should be flowers. ‘
