Off on a mini-trip to Italy today. Inter Milan vs Chelsea at the San Siro was just too good an opportunity to turn down. I hope we do as well there as Man Utd did last week but I'm not counting my chickens. I need to stock up on some baccy anyway so £235 for flights, transfers and match tickets won't exactly kill me. Now I know why people make pilgrimages abroad to see "God" See you in Milan Mr Mourinho!
I don't know why but so many of my friends seemed to have this one in their collection for some reason. Me included. Maybe it was the coloured vinyl fixation! Anyway heres some UFO for a change.
Has anyone seen the Sex Drugs & Rock 'n' Roll movie yet? Whats it like? Being a million miles from anywhere down here, the movie hasn't been anywhere near mr so I'm still in the dark and will have to wait for the DVD.
This was originally going to be the worlds first ever home made video album. More info here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Men_Who_Make_the_Music (because I'm lazy)
They say goalkeepers need to be a crazy. I never really understood that until 1979 when Chelsea signed Yugoslavian,Petar Borata. Petar put the L into lunatic, the M into mental and the E into entertaining. In todays football world full of greedy arrogant souless characterless players,I'd like to remember one of our most colourful players ever. Think Bruce Grobbelaar and times it by 20 and you'll know what I mean. Borata was often seen sweeping up high up the field, sometimes in midfield even occasionally on the wings. He thought nothing of nutmegging opposition centre forwards too. He often used to just swing off the crossbar when the ball was up the other end of the field. Our fans voted him player of the year in 1981. He was a lunatic...but he was our lunatic and we loved him.
Live from the Thatched House in Stockport, its one of Manchester's finest bands. As promised a few weeks ago,its Slaughter & the Dogs. When Mick Rossi isn't staring in movies (anyone seen the movie "Played" where Mick's in his lead role in the movie which also stars a certain Steve Jones and the unrelated Vinnie Jones?) he is back where he belongs on guitar.
Live from The Kursaal,Southend its another super live band - the undisputed kings of Pub Rock,Dr Feelgood. Apparently even without any original members now, they still are a super live band today. But in 1975 you had classic Feelgood and I wish I had seen them back then. I didn't get to see them until the 80's but they were brilliant then too and that was without Wilko Johnson who of course features here.
