Staircase Spirit
Old-school blog thing with reviews and whatever we want
- Since:
- 2017
- Made by:
- Rosy and Denise
- Status:
- We add new articles pretty regularly
Born out of discussions and notes about all sorts of things we care about, Staircase Spirit is full of lengthy articles we've written on topics as varied as the Pokémon movies to DOS games to fruit. Although the name of this site was meant to imply that we have no intention of talking about current trends, it seems that despite our best wishes, we end up being coincidentally timely relatively often. As of late, this is the project we've been working the most on, so, definitely visit.

Copy Cat
Fansite about Mew and Mewtwo from Pokémon
- Since:
- 2001
- Written by:
- Denise, more recent collaborations with Rosy
- Layout by:

- Status:
- Permanent work in progress
Since 2001, baby! Yeah, you read that right. Copy Cat is a massive Mew and Mewtwo fansite that has been around for more than twenty years, and there's still plenty of stuff we'd want to add. Come read pages both old and new! And if the size of the site is intimidating, we recommend to start from the essay about Mew's design!

About The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

Rosy in particular is the Oblivion nerd, having spent thousands of hours on it over dozens of different playthroughs. In this site, we collect our many thoughts about the different aspects of the game: from gameplay aspects to its storylines, from lore details to overarching core themes. We've really only scratched the surface of what we want to say about Oblivion so far, but given that every year or so we end up replaying it, this is one project that we can feel good about leaving as a somewhat-permanent work in progress, in the same way as we're somewhat-permanently invested in this game.

About the mistreated girl protagonists of Pokémon

When we started writing a Staircase Spirit article about our thoughts and feelings about the tumultuous history of the girl protagonists from the Pokémon games, little did we know what dreadful can of worms we'd just opened. Every topic we wanted to touch resulted in a tangent, and that tangent lead to another tangent. Every paragraph became a multiple-months research ordeal. We learned more than we ever wanted to. Now, we're ready to share our findings in the form of our most studious website, which happens to be about a bunch of Pokémon girls who just can't get a break. An abyssal dive through the history of the Pokémon fandom, of its canon... and its sins.

Fansite about Giuseppi Mezzoalto from The Sims handheld series

Seriously, The Sims Bustin' Out and The Urbz handheld are so, so good, entirely too good to be so obscure. Also, Giuseppi is in them. Giuseppi stole our hearts (and also our in-game bed like thrice). He's so well-written, we forget he's not a real person sometimes. This site is maybe our most ~eclectic~ project: it contains character essays, but also content about aspects of these games that are relevant to Giuseppi, and also some content that is really about the games themselves and we keep it there because it has to go somewhere, and personal pieces. And also a recipe for strawberry tiramisù, and rules for a weird card game. It's wild. Just like Giuseppi himself. :)
