Last day of swim lessons - for us. We were missing the last week and let the Malones take Lea and Luke's spots. Thanks El Prado lifeguards and staff - awesome summer!!

The one day we decided not to stay or go more swimming. Something about getting out of the pool and never being dry - it's a little uncomfortable. So we went home for naps and quiet time before fireworks and food!

BRAVE

Lea's birthday is always while we're out of town on vacation. So we either have a party a month ahead or after we get back when school has started again. We choose before we leave. :)
This year it was BRAVE! Took a few of her friends and she even wanted Abbey to come too.
The movie was intense in some places - Abbey was hiding because of the scary bear. All in all an awesome princess (non-princess??) movie.

Such a cute group! They had a great time and chatted all the way to the movie and back home.

random happenings

when you go to check on your child to see if she's asleep and see this: slight panic starts to creep in
Image
then you see her here because she didn't want to go to bed yet - not tired.

Just small enough that he fits in the cupboards without emptying them and he thinks he's funny!

somewhat successful in taking a new picture for dad's office.....they're all in the picture at least.

we had kittens.........again.

one night for dinner, we had scooptacular - not an after dinner dessert - it was dinner. :)

We said good-bye to our friends the Nilssens - volleyball, swim lessons and all around great friends to have for the past 4 years!!

Ashley, Soren, Svea and Liv - we miss you!

Father's day

We celebrated Father's day a day early. Jeff was headed out of town and we had to party before he left. The kids couldn't stand it any longer.
Image
Jeff made 'Lucas' for breakfast.
Image
A budding photographer or tattoo artist - see pics below?? Might help if the camera were right side up and finger not over the flash....gotta start somewhere.

Here's where it gets funny: Remember Lucas got a barbie for his birthday - well karma is quickly coming.
He wrapped up and gave Jeff........

makeup! (insert hysterical laughter from both boys)

 Group hug!!
And as if on cue: A dust storm rolled in just for Jeff. (He'd live in Portland or some place with weather other than sunny, sunny and more sunny with a 99.9% chance of sun. and HOT.) So out he trucks to get pictures from a top the swing set.

 And good-bye mountains.

can't see anything more than 200 yards away

and we're in the middle of it - good-bye blue skies.

This storm was minimal compared to other ones we've seen. The biggest one I've ever seen felt like the scene from 'The Mummy'.
Ammon was the only 'brave' one and wanted to go outside. See his 'ink' on his face and arms?

 bahahahaha!

 Happy Father's day!!
