Jaeley's First Date

I went out with the girls one night so Rhett decided to take Jaeley on her first date. It was so cute. Jaeley and Rhett got all dressed up and went to see the Lion King in 3D. When I got home, she had so much to tell me. She had so much fun out with her dad. She has the best dad.

Halloween 2011

Yes, I am playing catch up. Halloween was so fun this year. Jaeley was a Ladybug but she told most people that she was a doggy ladybug (she has a huge imagination). Holidays are so much more fun with kids.

Our Hunting Girl

Last week we had the opportunity to go to Beaver for the weekend in between Rhett's rotations. Well, while we were there Rhett took full advantage to get some hunting time. While I was at the women's conference Rhett took Jaeley coyote hunting. While hunting, they were lucky enough to get one. Jaeley was so excited that when she called me, it took me a little time to figure out what she was saying. She also wanted to show everyone her coyote so Rhett being the good dad that he is, carried her, the coyote, a camo coat, and two guns almost five hundred yards back to the truck. Even a week later Jaeley still talks about her coyote and how she was such a great hunter. Here is the picture of their coyote and 2 other coyotes Rhett got that weekend.

Funny Things

Jaeley is growing up so fast it is hard to believe she is already two. Even though she is only two she says some really funny things. Here are just a few....

Me - Jaeley, will you pick up your toys,
Jaeley - No, I can't, I have a baby in my tummy

Yesterday I was in her room and we were talking about something and she said, "hmm, lets see, lets figure it out."

Sometimes we will be doing something and she will say "This is the Life"

She often comes up to me and instead of calling me mom she calls me Handy Helper

One night I hurt myself and she came to me and said, "sorry handy helper."

She calls her stuffed animals and her blankets her friends or pets and acts like they really are her best friends.

If she likes you or something she will call you her best. (Rhett is her best and I am her favorite).

Lately when she talks, she likes to shorten her words, like instead of saying church, she will chur. Or when we went to the state fair to meet up with my family, she said we were going to state to see grand (grandma). Also when we say prayers she will shorten every word, like, blessings to bless, safety to safe and so on.

When I went to my first Dr. Appointment she came with me and saw that I had to give a urine sample, well later that night on the playground she found one of those 50 cent machine plastic cups and said she needed to pee in a cup. She wouldn't forget about it and took it inside to use the bathroom. Luckily Rhett and I were able to talk her out of it and distract her long enough to forget about it.

If you tell her your name she will probably remember it.
She loves to have a conversation with you and rather talk to her friends moms rather than her friends.
She is so funny and I love to listen to her comments everyday. She has such a unique personality. I am so thankful that I can be her mom and watch her grow everyday.

Jaeley's Pinkalicious Party

For a long time Jaeley has been asking for a pink party and I have just been hoping she would forget about it. Well she didn't so I decided to give her a pink birthday party. So we invited her friends, made a cake, and had a blast. She had a really fun time and she loves all her presents.

Image
Here is the cake I made her. It took me a couple of days, and mostly I wanted to see if I could do it.

Here she is opening presents. After each present she asked if she could open and play with it.

Jaeley Turned 2

My baby is 2 and I can't believe it. Jaeley turned 2 on June 20 (I know I am really slow at posting). Rhett was studying for his boards so we didn't celebrate until that weekend. We did manage to get her a present which took me 3+ hours to put together and had a doughnut cake. We are so happy that Jaeley is in our lives. She has made everything so much better. We love you.

A couple of things about Jaeley at age 2

She is growing up so fast. Even though she is only 2 she thinks she is much older. When I am having a conversation with somebody she thinks she needs to be a part of it and she will pipe in with a yes or a no and she says it so grown up like.

She thinks that she can do things for herself, like feed herself. She will go get in the fridge and get what she wants, when she wants. Today we got home from church and I went to change my clothes and I heard the fridge open. I came out to see that she had helped herself to the cherries and had cherry juice running down her stomach and on to the ground. I asked her what she was eating and she said "cherries, I like it" (Luckily I had already taken off her dress)

She also says the funniest things. One of my favorites is - A teeny tiny little bit. I don't know where she got this but she uses it all the time, like when she gets hurt she will come to me and say she got hurt and I will ask if she is ok and she says she just got hurt a teeny tiny little bit. She always uses it in the right way. It is so cute.

Yesterday we were driving and Jaeley was asking me a question then all the sudden said "Oh Nevermind" She is always amazing me. She is so funny.

Hawaii

In June we were able to go on a great vacation with Rhett's family to the fabulous island of Maui. We had so much fun. We spent our days lounging on the beach, snorkeling, playing in the sand, playing in the pools, and doing a lot of other fun things. It was just what we needed to relax before we started the crazy and busy life of the 3rd year of medical school.

Funny things Jaeley says

Jaeley is growing up so fast and even though she is only one, she is saying the funniest things. A couple of days ago, I was talking to her about going down to our garden plot. This was our conversation.

Me - "Jaeley do you want to go down to the garden?"
Jaeley - "Ya"
A couple of minutes later, I asked -"Jaeley, I'm ready, do you want to go?"
Jaeley - "Actually, no."

Once we got down there I was showing her our plants and I remembered that mint grows along the side of the fence so I picked some and told her to smell it and then asked her what it smelled like and she said it smelled like gum. Now she calls it the gum plant. It is so funny, I let her pick some every time we go to the garden and she will treasure it for so long. She carries it around for hours. She will hold it in her hand and every so often she will smell it. She takes it everywhere she goes and when I ask her if I can hold it she says no. Sometimes she will set it down somewhere, but she will always go back after a couple of minutes and see if it is ok. So usually by the end of the day we have wilted leaves of gum plant (mint) laying around the house.

Tonight I was doing the dishes and she walked into the kitchen and says "guess what mom?" I started laughing and said what, but by then she must have forgotten what she was going to tell me because she could say is umm, umm.

Some other funny things
- When she wakes up in the morning or from her nap she just starts yelling mom until I go get her. If I don't go quickly it gets faster then if I don't go she starts yelling dad. Once you go in there she says something like "I wake up."

- One of my friends has a little boy named Scott and Jaeley insists on calling him Scotty Boy.

- In the last week, she started singing the first couple lines of the Happy Birthday song. She doesn't really get the tune exactly right and I don't know where she learned it, but it is so funny to listen to.

The Sweetest Prayer

ImageIt has been about a month, but one night when we were saying prayer Jaeley said she wanted to say it and usually we just say the words and she repeats them but that night she said she didn't want help and she started to say it. I just listened to see what she would do and I heard the sweetest prayer I have ever heard. Wow, talk about making a mom's heart melt. She blessed daddy to drive safely and our family and a lot of other things I didn't really understand, then when she was all done she ended it just the way you are supposed to. It was so priceless to hear my baby use such a reverent voice to say such a sweet prayer. Now she always wants to say the prayer and if Rhett or I try to help her she gets mad and says no no no. I love this girl. I am so happy that Heavenly Father blessed me with her sweet personality and spirit.

Brian's Prom

A couple of weeks ago was Brian's prom and we were all able to get dressed up and be there to watch our youngest brother dance the night away. He was so handsome and we all had so much fun.

Spring in Utah

When it is Spring in Utah, you never know if you are going to wake up to snow, rain, or sunshine. Even though we never know what kind of temperature it will be we still like to play outside. Here are a few pictures of us enjoying the weather (whatever it is).

ImageAbout a month ago we woke up to over a foot of snow. We had so much fun playing in it. Jaeley loved sledding, she would go down the hill all by herself.

I'm a Big Girl Now

Image
Jaeley is such a big girl. No more diapers! Last week I decided to potty train Jaeley, she has been ready for a while now and I couldn't keep a diaper on her so we decided to take the plunge and try it. Well, on the third day, she was going all by herself and I didn't even have to remind her. I am so proud of her. She is growing so fast.

We're Back

I know it has been a pretty long time since I have blogged, I keep getting farther behind because I am trying to catch up. Well, now I can't remember everything I wanted to write about so I am just going to start from right now and maybe if I get around to it, post things that have happened in the last 4 months.

It is a new year and we are doing great. Rhett is truckin along in school and I am totally enjoying being a mom. Jaeley is growing so fast, she amazes us everyday with the new things that she knows. We are very happy with our lives and feel very blessed to be were we are.
