Promised Post

So I promised Andi I would update my blog in the next couple weeks since it's been a few months, so here it is darling! Obviously, lots has happened since I posted last, and I am not really sure where to start so I will just dive in. (feel free to skip ahead if your bored, because you will anyway!)
Towards the end of November Rich was laid off from his job at K Tile and Design, which was a huge set back for us, especially with the upcoming holidays. We had a great Christmas though and were very blessed. Rich was able to get several side jobs here and there that helped us to make ends meet! Although by January we were looking at his being out of work as a blessing, he got really sick in the beginning and stayed sick for four weeks. The doctors weren't sure if he had the swine flu or the season flu, but basically we were quarantined to our house for a month, and Rich was pretty miserable.
Rich kept up the job search through February, and had several interviews, but nothing really came of any of them. Meanwhile towards the last couple weeks of February, I somehow got pneumonia and went on to be sick for about 6 1/2 weeks which was pretty awful at the time. So again it was nice that Rich could be home to take me to the FIVE doctor's visits that I had in that time period. (which was a super big deal since we don't have insurance!)
We had a nice getaway in March Viva Las Vegas with the Wingates, and that was great because things were really starting to get depressing!
Rich finally got a job March 16! We just felt so blessed because we were moving in a week and the idea of moving in a new place without a guaranteed income from Rich seemed a little daunting.
We moved in April 26th to a cute basement apartment in Murray, and we love it! Our landlords are my Sister in laws sister and her husband, and so far we have had a blast living here! With in the first weekend we knew all our neighbors, which was a contrast from our other apartment in which we knew none.
So now Rich has been working for almost two months and so far so good! He enjoys it, and has more responsibility here which he likes, plus he gets to come home everyday for lunch since it's so close!
That's mostly everything for now, I think that covers most of the big stuff. I promise you Andi I will attempt to blog at least once a month from now on. ;) Plus I will try to get some pictures up!

Halloween Happenings

Here are a few pictures from what Rich and I did this Halloween season. We went to a couple haunted houses, made some caramel apples, had lots of caramel hot cocoa, a Halloween party and a few trips to Gardener Village! We had a lot of fun!

The World Wide Web Restored

So now that the wedding is over and I actually have the internet! So I may start blogging again, although school starts soon and I haven't tried that working this many hours and married yet so, no promises. No much has happened this summer besides my nuptials (think I spelled that right). We are pretty boring. We have done a few fun things though, and I hope to blog about them later along with changing my background. Then again Christmas is coming up here... I do promise to post wedding pics along with a few other summer events later, but for now this is it!

I know I am a Slacker

So I have pretty much sucked at blogging lately, and texting people back, and emailing people back, and calling people back. I basically just suck at communicating lately! I will try to give an INTERESTING update, but if you get bored feel free to skip over stuff! (not that you need my permission!) Let's see January....
We did a lot of fun little things. We went sledding with our friends Lindsay and Devin, which was so much fun! It was at night and it was raining and we went sososo fast! It was great! (Thanks to Colette for letting me borrow her snow pants about a million times!) We hung out with my siblings a ton as usual, doing random activities. I did go to a couple wedding shows, and got some good ideas. My mom and I also ordered my wedding dress, the one I have had my eye on forever!! I wish I could post a picture, but then that would be bad luck! I have to say though, I am so sick of wedding plans. I am just ready to elope! We also had a dinner with a bunch of my friends from jr high and high school that was awesome for me! We hadn't done anything with everyone for two years. K let's move on to Feb.

February was fun, and I actually remember stuff too so that helps! We started off with the ugly sweater party! It was a blast! We have met a lot of the Wingate's friends in their ward so it was nice to get to see them again and hang out! On Valentines Rich and I went shopping for some much needed clothes! It was fun to be able to spend the day with just each other, we shopped for a couple hours, and then had some Japanese for lunch. (which we HATED) That night we had a fun night with the Patane's playing the Wii and chatting! Last weekend Mindy spent the first part with Rich and me while we went to an urban art show that one of my co-worker's sons was having. I LOVE art shows! After the show we went bowling with Lindsay and Devin. It was so gross, there was dog poop on the floor there and it was disgusting!! Rich won of course. :P That's pretty much all that happened since I last blogged..... I think! If I left any of you out in an adventure I apologize!

This year we spent New Year's eve with Rich's uncle Derek and fam, part of the time, and then the other part at Sherrie's house. It was Derek's 50th birthday so the house was decorated in black.
Derek: "Haven't you heard 50 is the new 40?"
Me: "You wish!"
Sherrie's old room mate (sorta) Rachelle, came to stay with her for the week, so Sher threw a party! We had a good time getting to know Sherrie's friends better, We joked around a lot and I got fashion advice from drunk people! We had a great time!

Zombie Adventures

I have always been a sleep walker, talker, and Mindy will tell you, dancer. My mom used to find me in random places all around the house in the middle of the night. Well unfortunately nothing has changed!
I have a retainer I wear at night and I have the hardest time keeping it in my mouth. I have found it in drawers, under my bed, in my bed, and the other night I found it in my shower!! I need help! I did this with earrings too! I usually take my earrings out at night, but about 3 weeks ago I forgot. I found one in my retainer case, and one in my dresser! One time my friend Maci called me early in the morning to ask me something, and I didn't even know she called until the next day when she told me that she had called. I don't remember anything from that call! Or that it even happened!
I bring all this up because last night I vaguely remember getting up to go to the bathroom, going to sit on the toilet and hitting something hard. I woke up sometime later and found myself asleep against the wall next to my toilet. I was way confused. I went to the bathroom, got up, (seriously) ran into a wall, and went back to sleep. I think what happened was that I went to sit on the toilet and I missed and sat on the floor, just plopped, because now my butt hurts! I think I might be one of the deepest sleepers I know!
This morning Sherrie called me and woke me up, and I could not think at all. I felt like I had a hang over, which is an every morning occurrence for me! She hung up after telling me I was mumbling too much, something Rich complains about every time he has to talk to me when I am sleepy. I have just come to the conclusion that I am a zombie when I am tired so please never tell me anything important! Oh and ward members, if you ever find me wandering around the neighborhood at night, I am probably asleep and if you would direct me home that would be great!

Laguna Beach!

A few months ago Rich and I decided to go to California with some of my sisters. We planned everything and we just got back early this morning! We had so much fun!! We went to Disneyland, and as Rich says "California Adventure Parks" (Cutie) But that's not even the best part!! Laguna Beach was the best!!
Claire, the kids and Rich and I went to Laguna Beach Sunday night. For those of you who haven't heard of it, it's a beautiful beach in Southern California, where my mom grew up. It's strange because even though I never lived there, it feels more like home to me than Utah. So going there was very exciting, and I was really excited to show Rich! I can't even describe how the night looked! We didn't get there until about 6 and it was between sunset and darkness. Rich and I went for a little walk, after playing in the water a little with the kids. I took him over by Bird Rock, and we found this patch of sand. I told him about him everything I loved about Laguna,and He knelt down on one knee and............ I said yes and.......... WE ARE ENGAGED!
We came back to Laguna yesterday and you couldn't even see the place where he proposed because the tide was up, but I kinda like it that way, because you have to be there around the time he proposed to see it.

Mom's Classy Ears

For years and years my sisters and I have been badgering my mom on and off about getting her ears pierced! Well last week I was up really late with my mom (she was helping me study) and she randomly tells me she wants to get her ears pierced! So being the pushy person that I am made plans to do it on Saturday, (22nd) so she couldn't change her mind! She was sooo nervous! Cute mom.... she had two people do it so she wouldn't have to go through it twice! Her ears have been described as classy, elegant, and cute since she's had them done!
