After a two year break for the Covid-19 pandemic, Ropecraft came home to the windy city for our much-awaited homecoming in 2022 followed by three increasingly knotty events in 2023, 2024 and 2025!

Come join knotty friends old and new next year for Ropecraft Chicago 2026 next Memorial Day Weekend. Registration starts January 1st for event tickets and hotel room bookings will open by January 7th. If you plan to come see us, don’t wait too long as our last several events have been selling out earlier and earlier!

What We Do

We designed Ropecraft to be a convention where rope enthusiasts of all levels of experience and skill can share their passion for learning, enjoying and creating rope bondage together. Our classes cover a comprehensive spectrum of theory and practice for a wide variety of experiences and skill levels and teach and promote kink-positive, inclusive views of sexuality.

What is ROPECRAFT?

It’s a new approach for a kinky conference. featuring classes and play time centering around:
Shibari, Western Bondage, Power Exchange,
Solo Tying, Health Wellness, & PLAY.

REVOLUTIONARY

ROPECRAFT was born out of a simple idea: Let’s make a rope convention we’d really want to go to. That’s why we have integrated diversity and consent culture throughout. At our in-person events, this includes things like:

The Ropenspace: All ROPECRAFT events feature a Ropenspace! This is a facilitated self-organizing peer education event, run on Open Space Technology, with all the ROPECRAFT instructors in attendance.
Our Peer Support Team: Think of them as Consent Incident First-Responders, with a side of being that negotiation wingman you’ve always wanted and a supportive friend if you’re having a rough time.
Special Interest Groups: Want to have a supportive space for your group to meet and discuss? We will do our best to make time and space for that to happen. Just let us know!

EDUCATION

Our rope education track is not just a re-hash of what you’ve seen before. Beginners are welcome to learn the fundamentals of enjoyable tying and experts are welcome to challenge themselves with cutting-edge content and the opportunity to learn and create from other world-class talent.

We look for innovative classes from new presenters and new classes from innovative presenters.

ROPECRAFT supports the fight against human trafficking in any form. This means we support the decriminalization of sex work. Read about how you can help make the world safer by supporting this legislation at the Sex Worker’s Outreach Project.
