Sunday night run in Eden Prairie.  6.1 miles on a cool night in late June, after dropping Sarah off at Play Practice.  Wore the Nathan vest and carried phone and drink.  Around a lake, and industrial areas with very nice trail system, when I came upon this barn.  A bit of a surprise to say the least.

Kate’s Birthday was yesterday so I needed a longer run this morning to run off the hibachi gorging at Kyoto.  Given it is to be 95 degrees and very windy later today, I opted for a 5:30 am 7.5 mile run.  Wind was average and temp only 75. Streak day 2,201. Six Years, Nine Days.

Six Years!!  Today marks the sixth year of my running streak.  At 1:30, I parked at the Mendota Heights City Hall lot and put on my Hoka Clifton 3s and ran 3.45 miles for streak day 2,192, which translates to 6 years.  Here is a face shot from the adjoining baseball bleachers, a summary page from my Garmin for today’s run, and finally, the summary of year six.  Onward to year 7…

WOW, it has been forever since I wrote here, but the Streak lives on and I completed a 2.63 miler from the Mendota Heights City Hall this afternoon to complete 5 Years!!  Felt great as speed is coming back and weight down to the 196-202 range.   Still not ideal, but way down from when I got sick over the Winter.  Thanks to Andrea for getting me out on Christmas Day when I got out of the hospital after an allergic reaction and concern for heart.  All is well, and it was a nice wake up call.  Now I am running better than ever……  No longer tracking continuous miles, but it is day 1,827 which is five years and I look forward to many more.

Final run of 2014 is a 1.6 miler in 14 degrees (which is actually an improvement over the last few days) from home.  Final cumulatives for the year, and 3 year/213 day streak are:

4.3(3) 52.9(31) 652.1(365)  S = 1309  (3,737.4)

Cloudy and 47 degrees!  So, a journal entry is in order here.  Rain is expected again tomorrow, so we will have none on the ground by the time the day is over tomorrow.  Good Stuff!  So, I went for a 3.1 mile run (the Mitchell run) this afternoon and was able to wear shorts!  Allie was kind enough to take my photo as I rested, post-run, with my Penguin Buddy.

Monday evening (59 degrees) after a day of Continuing Ed and a quick 1.6 miler on the Bridle Ridge run.  1.6(1) 20.0(13) 523.5(286)  S = 1230  (3,607.8)

Made a big mistake today and turned in my old iPhone 4 without saving my running app, so I am completely manual in my planner, so should probably update this occasionally as well.  Today was a 2.0 miler from home in the evening and my cumulatives are now as follows:  10.6(7) 18.4(12)  521.9(285)  S = 1229  (3,606.2)

I have decided to stop writing each day of my run(s), as now that I have hit 3 years it has become a bit tedious.  I am still logging runs manually in my planners, and digitally through Running Log.  I will periodically post photos and updates as this thing keeps going, and it is nice to have daily updates for the first three years!  As of June 1, 2014, I have run exactly three straight years.  Here is a screenshot of Running Log Summary.  The last two weeks have been a bit of a struggle as the pollen/allergies are as bad as I can remember and they have really caused breathing problems, that seem to be finally getting better – fingers crossed…

Well, the calves and hamstrings feel much better, and now my left foot is really in pain, similar to last Fall.  It healed then in 3-4 days with gentle running each day.  So today’s run abruptly came to an end after 1.3 miles from the Mendakota lot.  6.2(5) 26.9(16) 245.3(136)  S = 1080  (3,329.6)
