My new love

ImageThis is similar, but not exactly, my new love. Mine is purple. Glorious glorious purple. It is just my size, light, and sits tall so I never get a back ache. I am in Love!

After my surgery this spring, I haven't been able to do much on my feet. This has been hard, being the time of year when we all want to get a little more exercise, and maybe a little less "middle" :^) This is nearly impossible when you can't walk to the end of the block without regretting it for several days. After talking it over, I decided the perfect gift from Sam would be a new bike! He made the contributuion that if it were worth doing, then we had better do it right. I did a little research, and looked at all the bike shops in town, and settled on the worst of the best, you might say. in other words, the cheapest of the nice bicycle shop bicycles. It was well worth the extra cost. It is comfortable, and well adjusted by someone who knows what they are doing. There is little weight, and the pedals are easy to maneuver. I feel like I could ride for days. IT IS AWESOME!! I have also rediscovered that wonderful and invigorating thing that is riding fast on a bicycle. The air is cool, and the wind in your face, and you are instantly a little kid again, not worried about getting dirt on your face, and you want to scream, WAHOO!! as you come flying down the hill. It is a great rush and I am in love with my new love, a gift from my true love!!

P.S. I think she needs a name. . .Penelope? I think I need some suggestions!

Happy Wreath!

Image
This is a project I did a while back, and thought was blog worthy.
I must give credit where credit is due. :^) You start with the tutorial found on Polkadot Pineapple here

Then you make LOTS in different sizes, and use fabric scraps that you like together. Just know that the size you end up with is about the size of the squares you started with. Last you get your hot glue gun ready, and have at a nice wreath. I put buttons in the centers, and stacked a few. Remember that buttons have holes, and the hot glue leaks out when you are not careful, (I had a hard time with this, and my fingers were very raw). Now all there is to do, is hang it somewhere sunny, and smile every time you walk by!

Pictures!

Here are the long awaited pictures of my little family. First is the skirt I made this week. Promise to look at the skirt, and not me. :^) There is something kind of horrid about pictures of ones self. . .ImageThis is what you find after the children have been playing with the camera. . .ImageImage
