Parenthood

The last couple of days have been amazing and very hard...harder than I could ever have imagined. Lucy has jaundice so we had to get a little tanning bed for her and she has to stay on it at all times (except when changing or feeding). This has been such a challenge for us. She hates being on it so she often cries herself hoarse. It is the saddest thing ever listening to that. We're getting her levels checked again tomorrow so we're hoping she'll be low enough to take her off. It has also been a struggle nursing her, but it is getting better. We love being parents, it is the most surreal and amazing feeling, but it's been hard. I just hope it gets a little easier. I'm just grateful to have Scott as my partner, I couldn't do it without him. Taking care of Lucy is definitely a two man job. He has become a master swaddler/changer. We are so lucky to have this little girl in our lives and I know that things can only get better!

Delivering Lucy

Wednesday, the 19th, we went to the hospital in the morning to be induced. I was 2-3 cm dilated & they started me on an IV with pitocin. A couple hours later I was still around a 3 so the Doctor came in and broke my water. I was going to wait to get an epidural until I felt a few good contractions. Almost immediately I started feeling contractions so I got the epidural (which I was so scared to get but did not hurt at all) and I felt great! We kept waiting and waiting. I started getting really itchy because of the epidural so they gave me benedryl and I knocked out and slept for 3 hours while Scott watched Iron Man. When I woke up the nurse checked me and I was dilated to 9 cm. The Doctor came in, I started pushing and 23 minutes later, little Lucy was born. The labor and delivery was a piece of cake, the recovery has been the hardest part. I'm so lucky to have Scott, he has taken such good care of me. We make a great team! We are so lucky to be Lucy's parents.

The Last Supper

Scott & I went to Buca di Beppo's for dinner tonight as our last supper without kids. I've truly loved being married to Scott the past almost 4 years and I'm so excited to start this new journey together. I'm being induced tomorrow and we are so anxious to meet our daughter! At my last Doctor's appt I was 3 cm dilated so hopefully it won't take forever to deliver our little peanut. Wish us luck!!

38 Weeks

It's crazy to think I've come so far! I'm hoping to have this baby any day now. I had a little scare today. I didn't feel her move all day, it totally freaked me out. Scott & I went to the hospital & they hooked me up to a monitor and instantly she got the hiccups. It's just like her, she is so stubborn! I was thinking why couldn't she have the hiccups like 10 minutes before I went to the hospital? Anyways, she is doing good and I'm feeling pretty good too. Just anxious to have this baby!

Some not so glamorous pictures!

Cat Shenanigans

Fine, I admit it. We're crazy cat people. Is there anything wrong with saying we love our animals? I think not.

I got the ITCH

Literally....

My stomach is the itchiest thing EVER.

It itches so bad it actually hurts.

I'm weak & I give in & scratch it, but then it burns.

Any Suggestions?

My 37 Week Stats:
