More Catch-up Posts

(Sorry to Slam you with all these old posts but these pictures have been sitting in a file waiting to be posted, so I finally made time for them.)

Carter started Primary this year.  Hard to believe I don't have a kid in Nursery anymore.  He loves goes to Primary with his big brother and seems to be adjusting to it really well.  At least I have not been told otherwise.  His teacher said that he has given the prayer every week so far.

First day of Primary. (I was lucky to catch a picture as we headed out the door)  and we now have early church.  We used to be at 3pm now we go at 8:30am so that has been an adjustment.

Carter also started at a new preschool and is doing Speech Therapy again.  He has been diagnosed with something called Apraxia.  He really struggles even with simple sounds and words.  The last few weeks have shown improvement so I am encouraged about that.  Hopefully he will be talking by Kindergarten (or sooner)  He is really bright and it is interesting to see what he is able to communicate non-verbally. He really understands so much more than I realize most of the time. He really is such a Sweet Heart.  He is always concerned about other people.

Dress-up in huge at our house.  We still have out most of our Halloween costumes.  The boys are always dressing up as someone different every day.

Trip to the zoo

Image
We decided to buy a Zoo Pass this year since the zoo is close and just around the corner from the University.  I think it paid for itself after the first visit.  We had planned on going with a group of family and friends the first time, but everyone ended up canceling for one reason or another.  We brought along our neighbor and still made an afternoon of it by ourselves.  It must have been a nice day because the kids are wearing shorts even though it was back in November.  The zoo was hardly busy at all and the animals were very active.

The big cats were being really active that day.

The little baby elephant was really cute.  She was playing with everything in her enclosure.  The kids had fun watching her.

We made another quick trip to the zoo last week.  It was not the coldest day we have had, but it was still really cold.  The zoo was practically empty and alot of the animals were put away.  The boys had fun anyway and I didn't feel like we had to stay very long.  Andrew met us there after he got off work and got to goof off with the boys for half and hour or so.

Good Times-Enjoying the Snow

My boys have been so EXCITED about all the SNOW!  When they wake up in the morning to a fresh coat of snow outside, it is all I can do to get them dressed and fed before they want to go outside and play.  Our backyard is pretty much all mountain.  For some reason the snow just makes it irresistible to climb and explore the little paths among the rocks and trees.

Kaydee has really missed the snow too.  It has been over five years since she has seen snow.  She loves chasing and catching snowballs and just goes crazy out there.  She is always on the lookout for the deer that pass through our yard.

My younger brother has started a tradition of pumpkin chopping, usually right after Halloween.  This year I was able to get over 30 pumpkins from a left over pumpkin patch.  They had way to much fun.
