God Loves You

God’s gift to you is the precious gift of salvation.

This gift of salvation is not obtained by being perfect, because there is nothing you and I can do to earn God’s perfect love.

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from ourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.” Eph. 2:8-9

Because we are sinners, we deserve to be eternally separated from God, but because of the death of His Son, Jesus Christ, on the cross, we can have life.

Jesus Christ said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

Here is the best news you will ever hear…

God Loves You.

For scripture says, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

Only Jesus has the power to save! His name is the only one in all the world that can save anyone.” Acts 4:12 (CEV)

Right where you are, you can receive Christ as your Savior by praying this simple prayer: God, I know that I am a sinner and my sins have separated me from You. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my life of sin and run to You with a repentant heart. Please forgive me. I believe that Your Son, Jesus Christ, died for my sins. He was resurrected from the dead. He is alive, and He hears my prayer right at this very moment. I invite Jesus to become my Savior and the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send Your Holy Spirit to dwell within me and to help me obey You, and to do Your perfect will for the rest of my life. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

His Promise to You: “If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.” Romans 10:9-10

And now may you rejoice with a heart filled with gratitude, “See what an incredible quality of love the Father has shown to us, that we would (be permitted to) be named and called and counted the children of God! And so we are!” 1 John 3:1

He Will Fulfill

You can make many plans, but the Lord’s purpose will prevail. Proverbs 19:21

We dream.

We plot and plan.

We hope.

We work hard.

We seek the counsel of others.

But something is missing.

Rather, Someone is missing.

God, creator of the heavens and the earth, knit us together while we were in the womb.

I will take it a little deeper.

He knew us before we were even made known!

For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. Ephesians 8:10

Have we asked Him what His plans are for us?

Have we taken the time to submit our hopes, dreams, and desires to Him in prayer?

Or have we ran after what we hope to be His will and then ask Him to bless it?

Beloved, remember this truth: Fear of the Lord is the foundation of wisdom. Knowledge of the Holy One results in good judgment. Proverbs 9:10

Only God knows the purposes and plans He has for you.

He created you!

So, why not seek Him?

Seek Him for His wisdom, guidance, and direction.

Align your hopes, dreams, and desires with HIS plan.

Trust that what He has planned for you will be more than you could have ever thought or imagined!

The Lord will work out his plans for my life—for your faithful love, O Lord, endures forever. Don’t abandon me, for you made me. Psalm 138:8

As Soon As you Pray

Daniel, captivated by the love of God, possessed a compassionate heart for the people of God.

He was an intercessor.

He exuded humility and righteousness.

Selflessly, he laid down his heart before God on behalf of a people whose time in exile was nearing the end.

Here, we capture the heart of Daniel as an intercessor:

I prayed to the Lord my God and confessed: “Lord, the great and awesome God, who keeps his covenant of love with those who love him and keep his commandments, we have sinned and done wrong. We have been wicked and have rebelled; we have turned away from your commands and laws. We have not listened to your servants the prophets, who spoke in your name to our kings, our princes and our ancestors, and to all the people of the land. “Lord, you are righteous, but this day we are covered with shame—the people of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem and all Israel, both near and far, in all the countries where you have scattered us because of our unfaithfulness to you. We and our kings, our princes and our ancestors are covered with shame, Lord, because we have sinned against you. The Lord our God is merciful and forgiving, even though we have rebelled against him; we have not obeyed the Lord our God or kept the laws he gave us through his servants the prophets. All Israel has transgressed your law and turned away, refusing to obey you. Therefore the curses and sworn judgments written in the Law of Moses, the servant of God, have been poured out on us, because we have sinned against you. You have fulfilled the words spoken against us and against our rulers by bringing on us great disaster. Under the whole heaven nothing has ever been done like what has been done to Jerusalem. Just as it is written in the Law of Moses, all this disaster has come on us, yet we have not sought the favor of the Lord our God by turning from our sins and giving attention to your truth. The Lord did not hesitate to bring the disaster on us, for the Lord our God is righteous in everything he does; yet we have not obeyed him. “Now, Lord our God, who brought your people out of Egypt with a mighty hand and who made for yourself a name that endures to this day, we have sinned, we have done wrong. Lord, in keeping with all your righteous acts, turn away your anger and your wrath from Jerusalem, your city, your holy hill. Our sins and the iniquities of our ancestors have made Jerusalem and your people an object of scorn to all those around us. Now, our God, hear the prayers and petitions of your servant. For your sake, Lord, look with favor on your desolate sanctuary. Give ear, our God, and hear; open your eyes and see the desolation of the city that bears your Name. We do not make requests of you because we are righteous, but because of your great mercy. Lord, listen! Lord, forgive! Lord, hear and act! For your sake, my God, do not delay, because your city and your people bear your Name.” Daniel 9:4-19 (NIV)

As he wrapped up his prayer, the angel Gabriel appeared and said these words,

As soon as you began to pray, a word went out, which I have come to tell you, for you are highly esteemed…” Daniel 9:23

What was revealed next, was a direct answer to Daniel’s fervent prayer.

Beloved, you and I are no different than Daniel.

We have been called to pray.

Called to intercede.

Called to stand in the gap for others.

Called to believe that when we pray, God hears and He will answer!

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. Hebrews 11:6

We are reminded that at any time and at any place, we can go before the Father in Heaven and seek His face, Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Hebrews 4:16

What is asked of us after the ministry of intercession is to surrender our will to His.

Trust that He has heard every word.

Wait with hope and an open heart.

He will answer, but how He chooses to answer is up to Him.

Beloved, the Word of God exhorts us with this short yet powerful command, Pray continually. 1 Thessalonians 5:17.

It means exactly what it says.

Live a life of prayer, not only for yourselves but for others.

Because as soon as you pray, your heavenly Father is listening and He will answer.

Your Expectation

For God alone my soul waits in silence;
From Him comes my salvation. Psalm 62:1

He alone is my rock and my salvation,
My defense and my strong tower; I will not be shaken or disheartened. Psalm 62:2

For God alone my soul waits in silence and quietly submits to Him,
For my hope is from Him. Psalm 62:5

He only is my rock and my salvation;
My fortress and my defense, I will not be shaken or discouraged. Psalm 62:6

On God my salvation and my glory rest;
He is my rock of [unyielding] strength, my refuge is in God. Psalm 62:7

Silence.

There is something about silence that can either scare us or bring us peace.

Penned by David during a turbulent time in his life, Psalm 62 opens with the heart posture of waiting in silence.

But what does that even look like?

Is it even possible?

Can we reach a place within our hearts and minds where we no longer harbor worries?

Can we reach a place where we understand that in His arms, there is a place of rest and protection?

In this place of rest, He offers a fortress that remains undisturbed.

In this place of rest, He offers newfound strength and a fortitude of courage.

Because as you quiet your soul and lean into Him, He will strengthen you.

Not only will He strengthen you, but your spiritual eyes will also be opened, and you will see His fingerprints everywhere, finding that you are not alone.

Beloved, no matter how dire the circumstances, there is not one storm that God cannot handle, for He is able.

And when the trouble has passed you by, you will then be able to declare as David did in Psalm 59:16, But I will sing of Your mighty strength and power; yes, I will sing aloud of Your mercy and loving-kindness in the morning; for You have been to me a defense (a fortress and a high tower) and a refuge in the day of my distress.

The Beauty of Endurance

Don’t run from tests and hardships, brothers and sisters. As difficult as they are, you will ultimately find joy in them; if you embrace them, your faith will blossom under pressure and teach you true patience as you endure. And true patience brought on by endurance will equip you to complete the long journey and cross the finish line—mature, complete, and wanting nothing. James 1:2 (The Voice)

Oh, the truth of this passage.

The exhortation to find the joy in the season of hardship.

To embrace the seasons of tribulation.

To find the beauty in the storm.

If we are honest, finding the joy and embracing the pain is a hard ask.

And if we are truly honest with ourselves and with God, our response may be a resounding “No, thank you!

But somehow, the Spirit who lives within us whispers to us a different response.

This response is filled with a sweet surrender, with an acknowledgement that our Good Shepherd is with us.

This response may not even be filled with many words and perhaps not very eloquent.

The response is simply, “Okay.”

Sometimes, we forget that we are being shaped into the image of our Savior.

His heart, His character, and His ways are often sewn into us through the threads of trials, tests, and tribulations.

How? Because it is in those dark valleys that we learn patience, peace, perseverance, and joy.

Joy.

Not happiness, which is earthly and emotion-driven, but JOY, which is the fruit of the precious Holy Spirit.

That is why James could confidently tell us we would ultimately find joy.

Think about it.

When something blossoms, it is because it has been tended to.

Starting from the planted seed, through care and rain, it grows.

This is the same for our faith.

We grow in faith through the trials we face.

The seeds of belief and hope under the pressure cause a beautiful faith to blossom.

The truth of the matter is, Jesus told his disciples and He is still telling us that, In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. John 16:33

So, you see, it’s not a matter of whether we’ll have trouble, but rather when we’ll have trouble.

That is why God calls us to be steadfast and unmovable in our walk with Him, no matter what comes our way.

It may be a long journey, but we are walking a long journey with a faithful God.

As we walk through our valley moments, we resolve to remain steadfast in our faith, while our loving Father equips us with the resilience to endure.

It is here in this place that we will then radiate genuine joy, while being fully embraced by His love.

That, Beloved, is the beauty of endurance.

Selah Moments

Selah.

A moment in time in which you stop.

Take a breath.

Reflect on that which your eyes or ears have absorbed.

Listen to Holy Spirit.

Psalm 46 was said to be written during the invasion of Jerusalem by the Assyrian army.

You can imagine the fear, chaos and uncertainty.

As for you and I today, there are times in our lives where fear rears its ugly head.

Chaos and uncertainty clash, making us feel the anxiety of what lies ahead.

Conflict and confrontation, leaves us bewildered.

But here in this passage, we are reminded of who our God is.

Our One True God.

Our very present help in the time of our trouble.

As you read the Psalm, embrace the Selah Moments.

Allow Holy Spirit to minister the truth of His Word to you.

God is our shelter and our strength. When troubles seem near, God is nearer, and He’s ready to help. So why run and hide? No fear, no pacing, no biting fingernails. When the earth spins out of control, we are sure and fearless. When mountains crumble and the waters run wild, we are sure and fearless. Even in heavy winds and huge waves, or as mountains shake, we are sure and fearless.

Selah Moment

pure stream flows—never to be cut off—bringing joy to the city where God makes His home, the sacred site where the Most High chooses to live. The True God never sleeps and always resides in the city of joy; He makes it unstoppable, unshakable. When it awakes at dawn, the True God has already been at work. Trouble is on the horizon for the outside nations, not long until kingdoms will fall; God’s voice thunders and the earth shakes. You know the Eternal, the Commander of heavenly armies, surrounds us and protects us; the True God of Jacob is our shelter, close to His heart.

Selah Moment

Come, gaze, fix your eyes on what the Eternal can do. Amazing, He has worked desolation here on this battlefield, earth. God can stop wars anywhere in the world. He can make scrap of all weapons: snap bows, shatter spears, and burn shields. “Be still, be calm, see, and understand I am the True God. I am honored among all the nations. I am honored over all the earth.”You know the Eternal, the Commander of heavenly armies, surrounds us and protects us; the True God of Jacob is our shelter, close to His heart. Psalm 46 (The Voice)

Selah Moment

Beloved, I will not add any more to this. I pray that in your Selah Moments, God, in His mighty and powerful presence, showers you with His mighty love.

A Psalm of Thanksgiving

In the good and in the not so good.

In the valley and on the mountain.

In every season.

Our God is GOOD.

Shout happily to the Lord, all the earth.
Serve the Lord cheerfully.
Come into his presence with a joyful song.
Realize that the Lord alone is God.
He made us, and we are his.
We are his people and the sheep in his care.
Enter his gates with a song of thanksgiving.
Come into his courtyards with a song of praise.
Give thanks to him; praise his name. The Lord is good.
His mercy endures forever.
His faithfulness endures throughout every generation.

Psalm 100

Come As You Are

So we can go confidently to the throne of God’s kindness  to receive mercy and find kindness, which will help us at the right time. Hebrews 4:16

You can confidently and boldly approach the throne of God because He is your Father.

Your boldness is not caused by pride or self-importance, but by a confidence in God’s love for you.

Approach His throne in awe and with the knowing that as His child, you are accepted.

Bow before Him because He is King, and with the heart assurance that He loves you.

Exalt Him in His presence, for He is worthy.

Tell Him what is on your heart, for He already knows.

Beloved, let your heart be at peace and simply come as you are.

He created you.

He knows you.

He has called you to Himself.

So if you are tired, come as you are.

Confused.

Come as you are.

Broken.

Come as you are.

Overwhelmed.

Come as you are.

Simply go to His throne, accept His mercy and kindness.

You will be welcomed with open arms, just as you are.

Your Identity

Embrace what God’s Word says about you…

God has made us what we are. He has created us in Christ Jesus to live lives filled with good works that he has prepared for us to do. Ephesians 2:10

Whoever is a believer in Christ is a new creation. The old way of living has disappeared. A new way of living has come into existence. 2 Corinthians 5:17

However, you are chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, people who belong to God. You were chosen to tell about the excellent qualities of God, who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. 1 Peter 2:9

Dear children, you belong to God. So you have won the victory over these people, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. 1 John 4:4

I can do everything through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13

I love you with an everlasting love. Jeremiah 31:3

You are deeply loved by God, the Father, because He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for you.

You were chosen by God before you were in your mother’s womb.

Chosen, wanted, and loved.

What a truth to behold!

This is why the enemy fights so hard to keep God’s children from embracing their identity in Christ.

There is no need to fear, for you have been made perfect in His love, where fear cannot dwell.

Insecurity is not your portion, for you are now secure in Christ.

You CAN do ALL things, for it is His power and wisdom that strengthen you.

You don’t have to worry about tomorrow, for He holds tomorrow in His hands.

You are NEVER alone, for He promised He would never leave you nor forsake you.

When you walk in the truth of who you are, there is freedom!

Beloved, you were created for a purpose—a God-given purpose.

Embrace it.

But God

The enemy said, “I will go after them, chase them down, and divide the spoils; my desire will be spent on them. I will draw my sword; my powerful hand will take possession of them once again.” But You blew Your breath-wind, and the sea covered them; they sank like lead down into the mighty waters. Exodus 15:9,10 (The Voice)

Exodus 15 is known as “A Song of Deliverance,” also referred to as the Song of Moses. Israel had just experienced a miraculous escape from their enemies, the Egyptians, through the mighty hand of God. As He parted the Red Sea for His people to walk through, He then allowed the same Red Sea to swallow their enemies (see Exodus 14).

The enemy spoke one thing, but God had the final word. What seemed impossible became God’s way of showing His power and strength.

Are you in your Red Sea, treading water and trying to stay afloat, searching for a life preserver? Remember, God is the One who upholds you with His righteous right hand, and He will save you.

Are you under insurmountable pressure from every side? Remember, your God has promised to hide you and be your refuge in your time of trouble.

What “Red Sea” are you facing today? What appears completely impossible? Remember, WITH God, ALL things are possible!

Beloved, the same God who delivered the Israelites from a very powerful enemy is the same God who can and will deliver you.

Hear God’s Word for you today:

The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.” Exodus 14:14
