I decided I will NEVER EVER do a surprise party for anyone again....not even my kiddos....sorry kidlets! Well maybe I will for the kids because I'll have my hubbies help! Anyway, they are so hard to plan, do invites, getting RSVP's back, food, but in the end it turned our great! The whole day was surprise for him....he was very confused and I think I put myself in a hole when I kept telling him...oh we're doing this.....oh and we gotta stop here and shoot I have to go into work so come with me. Ha ha, thinking back on it I sounded like a fool. We started off the day with a casual morning, got ready and headed to SLC to "go into work" and then go up to his "private golf lesson in PC" none of which are true but we did end up at the SLC Airport at my Boss's Hangar and his son Rob took us flying in their Cheyenne 4 seater plane. Nick was so surprised and so excited!!! We took off and headed up over Down Town SLC and over the mountains and were headed to Evanston. It was so fun to have an aerial look of the valley, mountains, leafs were changing colors, it was so fun. I got a bit queezy but handled it ok. We came through Weber Canyon on the way home and saw both our parents houses, Nick's 2nd home this summer Valley View Golf Course and headed back down to SLC Airport to land. We had to circle around SLC a few times waiting for our turn to come down. It was neat to see the Univerity Football Field and tailgaters. We made it back down and survived the trip. After our flight we went back home rested and "Started packing for camping" I made Nick pack the whole car with all our camping gear because we were "going camping" we ended up at my parents for a "Tarp" and everyone was there for the BIG SURPRISE! We had a great time, with lots of family and friends!
For our 2nd Anniversary we headed down to St. George. We decided when we got married that we would rotate years on who plans our anniversary celebrations. This was my year to plan, so on top of Nick's Birthday Surprise I had to turn around a week later and plan our anniversary. Let's just say I winged it the whole time and had Nick help with a few things. We didn't do much in St. George, we golfed, sat by the pool, shopped, headed to Vegas for the night to see La Reve and shop some more, it was a PERFECT weekend getaway! Going to Vegas made me have a whole new love for that place. The shopping is AMAZING, the shows are AWESOME and the Restaurants are GREAT! We shopped at the Fashion Show Mall, Mile Mall and the Forum Shops! We ate at Segundo......AMAZING, their Guacamole is to DIE for!! La Reve was amazing and both Nick and I LOVED IT! Happy 2 years Babe!
Halloween is Nick's favorite time of year, he loves to go to Halloween stores, buy all the creepy decorations, dress up, and scare people. We decided this year we were going to be TOY ARMY GUYS from Toy Story. In the beginning we saw some cute costumes at the Halloween store but Nick being the creative one decided we'd first spray paint some outfits to give it a plastic look, but then couldn't find the right colored clothes, so instead we grabbed old clothes and DUCT TAPED over them. We had the pants, coat, gun, bullets, binoculars, canteen, gernade, belt, boots everything, it was so fun but took alot more TIME and Duct Tape then we thought it would take. We turned a picture of us into Duct tape and we'll see what happends. We went to a few Halloween Parties and were basically the hit! Can't forget Witches Night Out at Gardner Village! 2nd annual Sisters/Sister In Laws night out! So much fun!
Some friends of ours decided we better hit the road and take a road trip to Vegas. The boys "needed some golfing time" and the girls needed some "shopping time" so why not head to Vegas! We headed down on a Thursday night, stayed at the Condo in St. G and then in the morning after breakfast with my Sister and Parker we were off to Vegas. We got there checked in, the boys went straight to golf and Kourt and I went straight to the Forum Shops at Ceasars. We had a blast. After Ceasars we went to the Mile Mall at Planet Hollywood. We shopped until our feet were sore! Literally all day! We shopped until the boys were done golfing. We grabbed a bite to eat at Segundo..........AMAZING! And then Kourt and I went back out shopping and the boys found a sports bar to watch the Jazz game! We had such a fun time with them and can't wait for another trip with them soon. Our way home was very interesting. We hit the road about 1 in the afternoon and got all the way to Beaver with no problem until sudden stop and blizzard conditions. We SAT on the freeway and watch an entire movie in a 1.5 mile span. We didn't know if we were going to make it home....for a while the boys were getting stir crazy in the car, all we had to eat was Riesen's, Starbursts, and Sun Flower seeds and let me tell you I will never eat any of those again I was so sick of them, the boys got out of the car and decided to hit golf balls from the freeway out towards the east mountains. It was actually funny and we had some good conversations in the car!! We finally made it to Filmore and didn't have to turn around we made it home but in 12 hours instead of your usual 6 hour drive!
Thanksgiving was more relaxing this year then it has been in the past. We went to Miller's it was only a few of us as most were at their inlaws/girlfriends/out of town/or working. It was nice to relax and enjoy each other's company. We had dinner, hung out, we went over to my Grandparents to say hello and play games and to plan our Black Friday Shopping Adventure. There were a few things Nick and I decided we should get. We almost stayed up late but got the Christmas Tree out instead. We were going to get up early but slept through our alarms. We did make it to the few places we wanted about 8:30 and got everything we wanted! Walmart wasn't bad, Best Buy was kinda crazy but the line went fast, Target was empty and the mall.....well we just went for lunch.
Next post....Christmas and Holiday Festivities!
PS I don't know how to rotate the one Halloween picture sorry!
