been a while, eh?

WOW! It sure has been a while since I have posted! To be honest, I had forgotten about it completely until my good friend, Lauren was like "hey, you should update your blog!", so here I am... updating my blog. If you glean anything from this, you can thank her lol.

Anyway, I'm now in my 2nd semester up at BYU-Idaho, and I am absolutely loving life! Last semester was okay, but there was definitely room for improvement. I have already met so many new people and have made so many new friends, that I have not had a boring day pass by. I can even think of a few in particular that I am especially grateful for meeting so far, but they will remain unnamed until a later date and time when i have more time to give them the attention they deserve.

Nothing is new as far as school. I am still working on a communications degree and I am absolutely loving it!

I am also coaching and playing baseball here, and it is so much fun. All the guys I picked up are super talented and know the game, so I'm excited to see what happens. We have already won our first game 13-4!

Drama -- it seems to follow me everywhere, but tonight, I think it helped me out! (for once in my bloody life lol). But for the most part, I've been able to steer clear of any drama, and it has really paid off. The way i see things, im almost 24, and i have no desire to play the games that some feel are necessary in the dating world these days, and being bold and direct has definitely proved to be the way to go thus far. I just hope things continue to progress the way they have over the past week... keep your fingers crossed for me?

Well, thats a basic update on my life... I haven't had a chance to play any hockey since I came out to Rexburg, but IF i find a job and stay here thru the winter, I will be able to get back out on the ice sometime in January! Also, on a side-note I joined a rugby team last semester but had to quit to avoid any injury that my hamper my ability to play baseball.

Okay, i better get to bed now -- its nearly 4:30 and I have class in 5 hours and i have yet to get to bed.

Stay tuned and I will have more updates coming soon with pictures!!!

A Month of Firsts: Part 2

Finding Love in the most random places
When does one know they're in love? For me, it's when I'm at work, and i can only think of one thing; it's when i live my life waiting for the next encounter; thinking constantly about how i can be better... to me, this is how i know im in love. This time, love came from the most unexpected place, in the most unexpected way.
At first, I just admired it from afar. "Do i have what it takes?" i asked myself. "If i were to step up, would i be able to maintain some dignity?" well, after a bit of hesitation, i decided that i should just take the leap, and see what happens. So, with stick in hand and blade under foot, i set foot onto a hockey rink for my first time ever. it was sheer bliss! after a bit of warm up and a brief skating clinic, i was launched into my first couple games of what i hope will be many, and after meriting a couple bruises, and even a couple goals, i knew it was love!

Since my first encounter a lot has happened in my hockey love affair; After only my 3rd week, i was handed my first suspension for a BIG hit (is it wrong that im proud of that? haha), and i was even told that same evening that i need to move up into an intermediate league! I was quite flattered considering that i was playing with people that had been in that league for months, and here i am, only 5 games under my belt, and i was already being promoted :) .

A Month of Firsts: Part 1

Amidst the confusion of life, one thing is ever constant: there is a first for everything.
I always swore I would never keep a blog; never give people a window into the monotony that is my life. Fortunately (or unfortunately; however you choose to see it,) things happen. The winds of change come, and sweep us ever so swiftly out of the doldrums of life, and into an active, and sometimes storming sea.
So with the gentle breeze of change, and a bit of persuasion from a close friend or two, I was convinced to look ahead in life, and see the potential for many changes, be they storms, new ports, or a new set of hands on deck, and be ready and able to document them for friends and family to see.
March has already been quite an eventful month; a month that has brought many firsts along with it; firsts that i will write about another time :)
