2 Mommies

This morning Savannah told me she could see two Mommies. She had learned to not use her null point to see an out of focus world. Savannah has nystagmus (oscillating eyes) which give her unclear vision. The Dr told us when she was a baby that she would develop a null point (a tilt of the head to stabilize the eyes) to see a clearer picture, which she did by the age of 2. In this photo from Sunday, you can see her with her head turned, peering out of the corner of her eyes, trying to see a focused Cooper open a present. (Savannah is in pink)

Savannah has never talked to us about her vision, and she has no clue she has a "vision situation." I was surprised that she was fascinated with her new found trick, to not use her null point to see double vision. She played around for the next 5 minutes seeing 2 Maddux, 2 Sasha, 2 Mommies...
I am excited to finally begin the conversation of what Savannah's limitations are, but still so scared, praying for a miracle.

I am feeling better

and ready to get our home back in order. It is so exciting to CLEAN the house, instead of waiting for Spence to do it. It is new and a fun chore for now. We decided to seperate Cooper and Savannah and put them in 2 seperate rooms. Now the boys are together, and Savannah will probably have her own bedroom for a few months, and then share with the baby until Cooper moves away to college.

All this new energy gave us the push to finally sell the Durango, and buy a van. I never thought I would be soo happy to have a van, we get to pick it up this Friday.

I am either a selling genious, or a fool, because we just sold our second car in 2 years in only 3 hours on KSL classifieds. And while I am in the spring cleaning mood, and we need to clear some more space in the garage for the new car, I decided to recycle our old kitchen oven and cooktop, instead of just taking them to the dump, as planned.

It was the funniest thing. I looked on KSL for free scrap metal haul away, called up the first add for this, and an old leathery man was at my door in less than 20 minutes. I am feeling very green, as I just shrunk my carbon footprint. Yes, I am giggling right now at how ridiculous this is, and how happy I am. Hooray for the 2nd trimester!
