Dr. Yang Song is currently the VP of Recommendation Research at Meta. Before that, he was the Head of Recommendation and User Growth at TikTok, managing a team of ~400 researchers and engineers to optimize TikTok's core recommender systems.
Prior to TikTok, he was the Head of Recommendation (VP of Engineering) at Kuaishou (HK.1024), where he oversaw both the core recommendation modeling and data mining teams, and later the Search team. Dr. Song also served as the Research & Engineering Manager in the Deep Dialogue group at Google AI, and worked as a researcher at Microsoft Research Redmond.
Dr. Song is an award-winning researcher, actively involved in organizing academic conferences and has served as Program Chair and Area Chair for conferences such as Recsys, WSDM, TheWebConf (WWW), CIKM, AAAI, ACM-Multimedia and IEEE Big Data.
