I love the smell of those bags of cinnamon spiced pine cones. I always slow down when I pass them at the grocery store.
So now that its been a few months since the last post, there may actually be something of interest. Maybe not, but maybe.
We left Jane at home and went to California! We left on a Thursday morning and went straight to the beach. It was so...refreshing, and happy. It was joyful to see Siri with just shorts on in thefreezing cold water, laughing and playing. We went to Disneyland on Friday. Loved it. Saturday we drove down to Seal Beach. Went to a heavenly farmer's market. Mark had a wedding to shoot Saturday evening so I took Siri on a bike ride on the boardwalk, then to Huntington for dinner. I love Sheri and Liz for all their help with Jane. It was so nice to be able to relax and have two free arms-to swing Siri and especially for hugging Mark more often

Siri was a dragon and Jane was a duckling for Halloween. We went to a few friends, but mostly trick or treated in our old neighborhood in Draper.
Our good friend has a birthday on Nov 11 so this year she had an 11.11.11 extravaganza. it was awesome! It is rare that Mark and I are leaving the house at 8pm. We partied way past our bedtime.

Mark had another birthday, imagine that. He skated with his good friend Blake and a few days later went surfing! (he got to use his JetBlue pass so it only cost $25 to get to Cali. It also was no effort on my part (although I told him it was my gift to him), more of an approval that yes, he should go surf.
I went with my sisters and Mom to St.George. Mark's parents have a beautiful house down there. Liz was sick half the trip, but we had a great time anyway (and used tons of hanitizer). We hiked and biked up Snow Canyon, went shopping, and ate good food. And the best part? Waking up on my own and then laying in bed until I felt like getting up! I LOVE my children, but I have yet to love their sounds as my alarm clock.
We had a perfect Thanksgiving weekend. Pie night, oh how I love pie night on Thanksgiving Eve. Thanksgiving dinner in the 'country' aka Kamas with a Martha Stewart-esk table. All of my family was there, it was lovely. I made a lemon meringue pie. This year I learned: do not make pie at night as it you cannot rush it to cool off. If you put it in the fridge too soon the condensation with make it look like it rained on your pie. Lesson #2 Do not put the pie on the floor of the car where the kids are. They may drop their book on top of it. I took Siri hiking up Millcreek in the morning since the weather was so nice and mild. As a family we went swimming the next day, and on Saturday I took Siri skiing for the first time this season. She is much stronger and coordinated (and brave) than last season. We were riding on the chair lift and I pointed out some tracks in the snow. Whose tracks are those? I asked her. "Santa Claus!" she replied. I love her enthusiasm for all things Christmas.
