How to Tell the Families??

(The first few weeks of December)
Matthew and I pondered and pondered how to tell our families the great news of our new addition coming to the family. Right after we got the positive results from peeing on the stick, I got right to making calls and appointments to verify my pregnancy at the Hospital, figuring out Insurance for me and the Baby, contacting my Doctor to make my first appointment.  We had our first Appointment on 12/12/12 We couldn't hear the heart beat, so they brought in the UltraSound machine and we were able to see our cute little one and SEE the little heart fluttering and beating. :) Such an incredible moment!!  It's kinda hard to see the little baby, more of a blob at this point.  Baby Jewkes was only about 7-8 weeks old at this point.

Since it was so close to Christmas time, we decided to wait until Christmas to tell the families.  We were going to spend Christmas Eve with my family and Christmas Day with Matthew's family.  So we decided to put this poem in a Christmas Card for everyone and have them open it and read the news.
Surprise! We’re pregnant poem

Long Overdue Update

WE'RE EXPECTING

Image

Summer of 2012, Matthew and I decided we were finally ready to expand our little family. On Halloween, I thought I might be pregnant, so I took a test and it came up negative. We weren't worried about it, since we hadn't been trying very long yet. So the month of November almost passed us by, A few days after Thanksgiving I was working and out of no where I felt a little nauseous, almost "car sick" but I wasn't in a car.  It came and went throughout the day. So on my way home from work I bought another Pregnancy test from the Dollar Store.  Matthew was sitting at the computer doing homework, I said, "I feel a little funny so I'm gonna take this pregnancy test." (fully expecting it to be negative again.) I took the test and OMG it was POSITIVE!  Matthew and I were surprised and THRILLED, we hugged and kissed in the hallway, and began to discuss all of the typical questions:

What now?
Insurance?
Call the Doctor?
New Budget plan?
Where to put a baby?
How and when to tell the family?
Do's and Don'ts of pregnancy? etc. . . .

p.s. stay tuned for more updates, they will come quickly until I can get up to date!
