Tuck This Wisdom Away, to Use Another Day

Image

There is so much power in what we say because our words guide where our thoughts go

Jesus, help me to center my thoughts on your Word today so they rest on your goodness and mercy

Like a bird that flies out in the morning, help me carry your goodness wherever I go

Let me tuck this wisdom away, to use another day

And when I come back in, help me to feather my nest with Your peace and comfort–Jesus, be all around me keeping me safe and warm

In the night as I prepare for sleep, I’ll think back over the day and how You were with me the whole time, Lord

Let me tuck this wisdom away, to use another day

Even when I call out to Jesus, not knowing what to say, the Holy Spirit living within me signals that at this time, it’s o.k. to walk away–I’ll sort it out with the other party later–taking a hiatus from speaking on the topic right now is for the better

Lord, you’ll meet me with words of wisdom and grace, for my knowledge and the benefit to myself and the other person

Let me tuck this wisdom away, to use another day

For there is great power in the tongue–that’s where influences and actions spring from
Jesus, by your wisdom and grace, I submit my thoughts and words to you

Wash and filter them with your love and truth until your glory shines through

Let Your pearls of wisdom be my most prized possession that I wear for the rest of my days

Let me tuck this wisdom away, to use another day

²⁰ Wise words satisfy like a good meal;
    the right words bring satisfaction.
²¹ The tongue can bring death or life;
those who love to talk will reap the consequences

We’re Just Trying to Find Our Way Home

There’s a place in each of us that has a deep longing inside

A place of unending peace, profound protection
to come in from the cold; that which we can run into escaping the terror, shelter in which we can hide

We’re just trying to find our way home

Unquestionable acceptance, a love everlasting, nothing like we’ve ever known

Love so pure without ulterior motive, finally we can relax, letting down our guard and walls around our hearts, fear no longer on the throne

We’re just trying to find our way home

Love never gives up, never stop seeking us–Father God keeps his eye on us, we’re never out of his line of sight

His love for us knows no bounds–He gave his Son, Jesus Christ for us, through the shedding of his blood, death, and resurrection–he won the fight

Redemption to Himself now available to us, he stands knocking at the doors of our hearts, longing for us to believe, accept and declare Him Lord and Savior, responding to his invitation of eternal life

Grace and Mercy is leading us on the way home

While our journeys aren’t perfect, there are bumps, ditches, and detours along the way

Jesus, our good shepherd is with us always
Redirecting, lifting us out of the muck and miry clay, by our repentance of sin, makes us clean and washes us anew

Jesus, our North Star, shines bright–leading and guiding us home

Father God, our Creator, fashions humankind in His image while making us unique, with different physical traits, talents and gifts to lift Him up with glory, honor, and praise

So pleased with His creation and He makes no mistakes, we are fearfully and wonderfully made¹

Father God made us for relationship with him for all eternity

He placed an indelible imprint on our hearts, like an artist signs his masterpiece

Father God, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit–Blessed Trinity–our true and forever home

But now thus says the Lord,
he who created you, O Jacob,
he who formed you, O Israel:
“Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by name, you are mine.

                              – Isaiah 43:1, ESV²

“Worthy are you, our Lord and God,
to receive glory and honor and power,
for you created all things,
and by your will they existed and were created.”

                               – Revelation 4:11, ESV³

The Way

Image

Lord, as I prepare to respond to the needs of people

Show me where to go

Lead me in what to say

Jesus, show me how to pray

Help me to lift You up today

And bring glory and honor to Your majestic name

Jesus, help me remember you’re the bright Morningstar, at all hours of the day

Your light cannot be extinguished; I need Your light to guide the way

Because that’s who and what You are

the Way

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
                           – John 14:6, ESV

Able

Image

Your love is incomparable, You mean everything to me

Jesus, you give peace unimaginable; you’re all I need

With joy uncontainable, Lord you break it down for me

Holy Spirit, thank you for living in and
walking with me

Lord, reflect Your light through me

Jesus, let your goodness be what people feel and see

The Blessings of the Father and Son Fall on Me–My Thanks and Praise to You

Image

Jesus, thank you for setting aside your Godly power to be a man after God’s own heart

With faithful, steadfast love and trust in God the Father, you confronted the fear and shame of the cross, wholly not in part

With obedient surrender to the will and plan of God the Father–Jesus, the Anointed One conquered sin and death, veil torn and way made–the ability for relationship with God the Father and You his Son from the foundation of the world, the path was paved ¹

The Holy Spirit alive in me walking with, leading, and guiding me
on the way everlasting

You thought of the joy set before you; taking your rightful place with God the Father as the Savior of all who confess your Lordship
in praise, surrendering hearts and lives, unto You is our worship

Jesus, thank you for being the example of how to live a life that gives honor and glory to God and Thee

You paid the price at Calvary
buried, You rose again to proclaim the victory
over sin and death

You gave it all for my liberty

For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery. – Galatians 5:1, ESV ²

In Christ Jesus I’m Hidden and Found

Image

Everything is in Christ–my protection, redemption, and deliverance

My joy, hope, and peace are interlaced with the righteousness, the “right-wiseness” of Christ Jesus
I’m bound to him so I can be free

My service to him I freely give
how can I ever begin to repay my debt to the One whose sacrifice allows me to live

And walk in such freedom of burdens light and shackles undone
unnecessary hinderances I step out and away from
as my head is lifted to bask in the reflection and warmth of the Son

And when the cold, bitter winds of life howl and hiss, as tempestuous storms rage

There’s a vital truth that will never change–Jesus the Christos–Jesus the Anointed One, the King and Deliverer ¹, rules and reigns!

Jesus, the Anointed One pulls me in so close, that all at once, I am loved so deeply and so fiercely protected
I’m assured of my worth in Him, the Cornerstone who by some was rejected,
and is exalted by Father God as the one and true way to the Father’s heart

My shelter and protector forevermore, His footsteps I follow in
from your ways Lord help me not to depart

⁹ Instruct the wise,
and they will be even wiser.
Teach the righteous,
and they will learn even more.
10 Fear of the Lord is the foundation of wisdom. Knowledge of the Holy One results in good judgment.

Brilliant Cut–57, 58

Image

Jesus, thank you for the brilliance inside of me
I take zero credit for it; it’s the deposit of your Spirit inside of me
By Your grace and mercy, this new morning I see
At Your pleasure, I do serve as a reflection of Your glory

It’s all about you, Jesus–my King, Lord, Savior, and Redeemer–the one who gave it all for me–Your light shining pure and bright for all to see

57; Your grace (5) and perfection (7)
58; Your grace (5) and new beginning (8) in You
pave the way as promises to be fulfilled as I walk the journey on which You’re leading and guiding me

Interior Redesign: Break The Glass Ceiling on My Thoughts

Image

The exterior doesn’t always reflect what’s going on inside,
Lord the utterings of my soul that aren’t expressed verbally, but scream loudly in my head,
from You I cannot hide

It’s not always all bad, the unspoken bits may be born of expectant hope inside of me that I’m too scared to believe for fear of the let down–that which the enemy of my soul so relishes in reminding me–I’m too much of a dreamer, good things aren’t part of my reality

But what if the some of the “good things” I imagine don’t line up with God’s plans for me?
His ways and thoughts are so much higher than mine; His Word proclaims the new thing He’s doing that’s springing forth, do I not perceive?¹

Jesus, the only one who truly knows me through and through, help me continually exchange my perspective for yours, walking by faith in you, regardless of what I see
so the glass ceiling of my thoughts don’t limit me

Let my soul scream the quiet parts out loud, the earnest cries of my heart heard by your ears;
my faithful Redeemer, break the glass and set me free

So I can live in wonder of Your plans for my life, knowing they’re Your best for me and how I reflect and magnify Your goodness, for Your glory

Morning Prayer – 10/2/2025

Image

Jesus, thank you for the beautiful morning you allowed me to see
With your grace and mercies, ever-present and new for me
As I walk along this sometimes challenging journey
Let me remember to yield, so You can lead and guide me
Please give me discernment and allow me to see and follow Your footsteps in front of me
Give me the strength to be obedient to You and undeterred by what’s in front of me, walking and sometimes running on in your name Jesus,
shine your light on me
So that I’m ever-mindful that my purpose is to give You praise, honor, and glory

Joy unspeakable lives in me
